I asked to remove TWO ingredients from a smoothie and replace them with ONE. Not only is that a downgrade, it's basic logic. But somehow, he decided I needed to pay extra--for LESS. When I questioned it (politely, mind you), he gave me attitude like I was trying to scam him out of a Ferrari. So I tried ordering a different smoothie. Turns out, one of the ingredients wasn't even available--and instead of offering a swap, a discount, or literally any sign of customer care, he just shrugged. No solution, no apology. Just that blank, smug look like I was the one who needed to figure it out. It's like he's running a business by accident. Zero common sense, zero accountability, and a customer service approach straight out of a nightmare. He acts like he's allergic to feedback, and the second you ask a question, he talks down to you like you're the problem. And the worst part? He's the face of the business. The person greeting people. The one taking orders. Honestly, that alone is the biggest red flag. He shouldn't be anywhere near customers--or a cash register. Or a blender. Or anything that requires basic logic or human interaction. I don't care how "healthy" the food is--nothing is worth the stress, the eye rolls, the condescending tone, or the feeling of being completely ignored and disrespected. You want a smoothie? Go anywhere else. You want to be treated like garbage while overpaying for it? Congrats--you've found your place. It's definitely nothing compared to Chopt or Liquiteria, but that goes without saying for this family owned business. They add a bunch of Latin guilty pleasures to their menu as a safety net for the fresh and healthy concept, which is fairly new to the area. And. They. Are. YUMMY! The meat in their empanadas are right on point, the carnitas meat on the tacos are delicious! The tacos are served with a charred flour tortilla, the meat of your choice, cilantro, onions, layered with big chunks of tomato, and chunky square pieces of lettuce which they smother with melted cheese. They are still learning, but hot, soggy lettuce are a definite NO-NO when it comes to tacos. If they want to serve melted cheese they need to add that before adding the cold items like tomatoes and lettuce. The lettuce and tomatoes definitely need to be finely chopped and diced before making its way onto the taco for a more comfortable consumption. Aside from that, the Yaroa con res is the guiltiest pleasure of all the menu items. Its mashed sweet plantains as a base with meat as the second layer, and finally topped off with lots of mozzarella cheese. The ketchup and mayo garnish is optional. Mocano's is very new so there are a lot of things that, I'm sure, will be tweaked in the near future like pricing (specifically for the tacos: you can only buy 2 or 4 at a time), and food prep, but def give it a try when you're in the East Tremont area. I only gave it 4 STARS because I had to wait 40 minutes for 6 tacos that I ordered in house. Guests should never have to wait more than 10min at a grab and go restaurant. If they are making everything to order, that will be their biggest down fall. They should just be assembling items, not making everything from scratch. Long wait times tend to be the number one thing that kills a new restaurant.
