We had a great time! If you are into hiking and other outdoor activities, Ed can give you all the infornation you need. We appreciated the insight. However, I strongly suggest you disregard any recommendations for Dahl and Diluca restaurant. That place has abhorrent service and couldn't care less about patrons. If you want to enjoy good vibes, take this winery tour...and avoid Dahl and Diluca if you want to maintain your good headspace and be treated with respect! ;)

When Jim tells you this tour is custom to you, he's not kidding - just tell him what wines you like, don't like or even if you want to change it up to accommodate your husband (who doesn't drink a lot of wine) and add a brewery stop, done! He makes it happen and everywhere we went was absolutely wonderful. And did I mention he made it a dog-friendly tour?! Every stop (except for one we specifically requested) was dog-friendly - and at the one that wasn't, Jim walked our little guy while we did our tasting. Seriously, everything about this tour was above and beyond. Jim's knowledge of the area and the wineries demonstrates how much he loves what he does and you can tell the wineries and local businesses really appreciate him too. I cannot recommend Jim and his company more! He has several tours to pick from or he'll happily work with you to create one just for you. If you're heading to the Sedona area, this is a must-do!!

It should be noted that with a couple of exceptions the wines are all seem to be made in the Willcox, AZ area which is located in South East Arizona. We visited the following tasting rooms during our week long visit to the area. 1. The Jerome Winery 2. Arizona Stronghold 3. Merkin Vineyards 4. Winery 101 5. Pillsbury Wine Company 6. Tantrum Wine 7. Winery 1912 8. Salt Mine Wine 9. Carlson Creek We found wines that we enjoyed at each of these with focus on the Syrah and Syrah blends. Most of these red wines are very smooth and silky with a fruit forward flavor. We found these wines to be actually better than many you would find in the Mclaren Vale region of South Australia, which is famous for their Syrahs. Our favorite hands down were the wines from the Pillsbury Wine Company. Each of these winery's charge between $12-15 for a tasting but most, with the exception of the Jerome Winery and Winery 1912, waived the tasting fee with a purchase of a bottle. We also noted that Tantrum Wine and Winery 1912 did not offer water with their tasting which I believe is pretty important. All in all if you enjoy wines and wine tasting the Verde Valley Wine Trail is a must do.

Then, some of the wineries don't have QR codes to scan. We managed to obtain some hard copy maps, but we don't know if they will even be accepted. When ready, I ordered a ooh la la lemonade and we served ourselves some cold water. The bartender was friendly as she took my order and made my drink pretty quick. The tour started a few minutes later and lasted a little over an hour. The time went by fast as Tyler kept it fun, informative, and engaging. I learned a lot and walked away with some good brewery knowledge. We tasted several spirits and two were my favorite. There was a vanilla flavored one and a cinnamon one... cant remember the names, oops. We ended up buying the vanilla flavored one and I cant wait to use it! My ooh la la lemonade was delicious, not too sweet and not too strong. I had a GREAT time, this place rocks! Thank you!

Outlaw Distillery originated in Utah with Owner, Tyler Halstead and his beautiful wife Alexis. Over the past year there was a change in ownership and Tyler acquired what was at the time, Adventurous Stills in Tempe. This place has been a long beloved distillery to locals and visitors alike, making exceptionally good spirits and having a very welcoming atmosphere along with great staff, and a super fun whiskey club. A warm welcome to Outlaw Distillery and I wish nothing but success, as the two entities merge into one. If you've been to Adventurous Stills before, you will be happy to see that the whiskeys and other spirits that are distilled on site from grain to glass in small batch format will continue to be exceptional products, and they have some new things coming out but it's no longer branded Adventurous Stillls. I'm excited to see what fun and creative things happen with the new ownership and change, and as long as the whiskey and booze stays delicious, I'm here for it and will continue to be a big fan. Cheers all!
