The driver himself was pleasant enough but the dispatch team was horrible in that they sent this driver all over the Bay Area instead of logistically concentrating him to the Peninsula. The patient had an appointment at San Bruno Kaiser at 10:45am so the pickup time was slated for 10:15am to accommodate the 14 minute ride time. Inexplicably, the ride didn't show up until 10:55am, even with repeated calls to One Access. The driver apologized for being late, blaming dispatch for sending him to Los Gatos for his prior patient ride. Worse yet, the driver had no partner, so loading a wheelchair patient solo took extra time. Unfortunately, we arrived for the patient's 10:45am appointment at 11:20am, leaving only about 15 to 20 minutes left for the actual therapy time. I asked the driver if he would just stay since we would be back out from the appointment in 20 minutes, and he just gave me the dispatch phone number to call when ready for pickup. Upon completion of the appointment at 11:40am, we come out and the driver is nowhere to be found. Calling the One Access dispatch to locate a ride, they tell us transport is behind schedule and would arrive at 12:15pm....not really acceptable making a wheelchair patient wait 35 minutes in inclement weather. Unfortunately, 12:15pm rolls around, then 12:30pm....no driver. So I call Once Access again and they said the driver is on his way and should be there in about 15 to 20 minutes. Finally, the van rolls around the corner at 12:50pm -- mind you, the patient has waited for over an hour at this point -- and to our astonishment, it is the same driver from the morning! Instead of assigning another driver, One Access overloaded this driver with multiple rides which has cascaded making other patients late. The driver informed me that after he dropped us off, dispatch assigned him 2 more rides up to San Francisco. It would have made more sense to have him just wait 20 minutes instead of making the patient wait over an hour -- unacceptable. One of the worst transports experiences ever, both to and from! Go with America West -- they are always on time, provide great patient transport experience, drive excellently, and usually have 2 people to assist with wheelchair patients.

The overall experience was very smooth--from meeting the care coordinator Natalie and signing the forms to making final arrangements by text. Everyone here was warm and helpful. A special shoutout to my caregiver, Candy, who was lively and fun. After I got home, I slept for a couple of hours, and when I woke up we chatted--the conversation helped me stay alert and shake off the grogginess from the anesthesia. Being Chinese, Candy understood my needs at home, and that cultural awareness was especially comforting while recovering on my own. When asked directly about their standards for safe assistance, he confirmed they provide it, yet seemed more focused on irrelevant details--such as whether stairs were involved--when my father's fall occurred on a flat surface. For a service that advertises assistance for vulnerable individuals, this level of negligence and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I would not recommend this company. The front lobby does not have a receptionist. The sign on the plexiglass is to call the number. I failed to see the no knocking on the glass sign - someone looked up from their desk and pointed to the glass which had a sign says to call. The gentleman that helped me was very nice. I had a deductible and a monthly fee since it's a rental. The physical therapist or occupational therapist told us that someone from Apria would reach out to me for home delivery. I checked the website from my phone and also saw the same thing - you need to verify the patient's first and last name as well as DOB. Anyway, I was antsy and called yesterday. Call early because I was on hold for nearly 15 minutes. The lady on the phone was very nice as well; explained my deductible and monthly fee, and that if I were to go, go before or after their lunch hour. I came about 3 minutes before noon. Thankfully I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The gentleman showed me how to use the leg thingies and assemble / fold up. Gavin broke his leg in 2 places Sunday and had major surgery Monday (over 6 hours). It'll be a long road of recovery for him, but I'm thankful he's alive and ok. Just no football for at least 2 years, if ever. He should be able to walk normally in 8 months to a year, his orthopedic surgeon says.

She only needed it for a few nights, so after she was done with the therapy I called Apria for them to pick it up. Then the headaches started. I got one individual on the line that verified our information and they told me they would send a driver to pick it up that day.. and of course that was a lie. Two days went by and I called back again. I got another individual on the line and I asked what the status of the pick up was.. and of course she had no idea what I was talking about and she couldn't find any information in their system. I asked for a call back when she was able to find my information and get this blanket scheduled to be picked up. No call. I have called back 10 times after that and got the run around - 'oh I can't find your information, let me call you back after further digging' was the most common response and every once in a while 'I have found your information and got a pick up scheduled' - and surprise surprise that second prompt was a complete lie. I have even asked to speak to a manager about this after I got a 'oh I can't find your information' response. And of course they couldn't find my info either and they asked me to put on hold so they can do some further investigation. I asked for a call back instead.. nothing. Not even an end of day call saying, 'hey still looking into this for you'. At this point over 3 weeks have gone by and no success. Then I called back again and got this young man that immediately found my information and saw that I called in so many times regarding this that he put in a 'ticket' for a rushed pick up; he was quite confident it would be picked up that day. That was this last Wednesday and of course, nothing. I called back yesterday, Thursday and they said it would be picked up that day and it was assigned a driver but they didn't have a time and that it can be picked up as late as 11PM! And I'm sure if you're still reading this review you probably knew what happened - no pick up! I called back the next day and the operator was wondering why it wasn't picked up the day before, so she put in another rushed ticket to get it picked up. About an hour after that call it was FINALLY picked up. It doesn't surprise me that there are so many negative, 1 star reviews, with this company - I am surprised such a stellar healthcare company, like Kaiser, would choose these incompetent idiots. Apria,if you're reading this: it really isn't that hard: when someone calls in write NOTES in your CRM, follow up with your clients if you don't know the answer, and UNDER promise and OVER deliver. I've seen that this bili blanket is around $3k or more - you aren't dealing with tinker toys - you're dealing with life saving, medical equipment! Get your crap together!!!
