The schweinshaxe was tender but kept the integrity of the skin was intact and crispy. The service was great because we arrived in between lunch and dinner. But it was pretty busy in the "cafe " area. It seems the servers were from university; students working as a side hustle. I'm by no means a teetotaler, but I'm much less of a beer enthusiast than I was in my college days. Embarrassingly enough, I wasn't even sure what a Weizenbock was exactly. If you're like me, fear not as I'll briefly explain. It's a strong German wheat beer that mixes the rich, fruity, and spicy notes of a Hefeweizen (traditional wheat beer) with the robust maltiness of a Bock, creating a full-bodied, flavorful ale with a higher alcohol content (7.1% ABV in this specific case) and a signature fluffy head. Their flavor typically features bready, toasty, and fruity (banana, clove) aromas and flavors, with darker versions adding caramel and deeper malt notes. According to the bottle, Ayinger's brew is advertised as a pale, robust, spicy wheat ale. The spicy description turned me off, but while I could detect a hint of it, it was not overly so. Pouring the bottle into my glass revealed a hazy, pale golden color. It was a bit dry, boozy, but extremely drinkable and smooth. Coming from a guy that doesn't like many beers, this was a good one. When I was on vacation in Germany I really enjoyed visiting Kloster Breweries. You feel like you are having a religious experience with a beer buzz. Since I was collecting Beer Steins at the time I purchased two at one Kloster Brewery I visited. I like the feel of the stein and the taste of beer when you drink it out of this stein. I've kept my steins for years and years. I'm recommending when you visit Germany that you tour one (or more) of the monastery or castle breweries. It's an unforgettable experience! The pews look original and you can find carvings people left in the wood. Many Of the carvings are initials with dates. We found some from 1770. The monastery was build in 1330. There was soooo much beer on the tour and people kept handing me theirs (I don't know why). Needless to say, I was feeling it by the end of the tour. There was an interesting beer-based shot drink at the end that was good. Again, people kept giving me theirs and the tour guide poured me a second one. Geez! I had a bite and I can frankly say it was the best spatzle I've ever had in my life. No other German restaurants I've been to in the States compares to the spatzle in Germany, and especially at this restaurant! It was superb...well flavored, cheesy, and definitely a treat to eat. Sigourney thought it was very good. I ordered the schweinhaxe, the roasted pork knuckle--which one of Bavaria's signature dishes. It too was absolutely delicious. The skin on the outer pork knuckle was perfectly crisp, while maintaining the soft, juicy, tender pork meat underneath. For those who have never had schweinhaxe, it's a lot like Chinese style "pig's feet" (it essentially is the same pork body part), but crispy, salty, and well.."European" tasting. We couldn't really read most of the menu, and fortunately for us, Bavarians are very nice and willing to help. A jolly, tall German man content with his beer in hand helped us translate some of the menu items and recommended certain beers on their EXTENSIVE list. I was really glad he was there since we got to eat some of the best items on their menu, as recommended by him. Next time I'm in Munich, I'll probably swing by here again to eat some hearty Bavarian food! Delish!!!!

We got right in after maybe a 5 min wait and we were seated quickly tomorrow private table upstairs.There were 5 of us so it was very spacious and not too loud. We enjoyed beer and wine first and then we enjoyed several dishes that are in the pictures here. All were very good as most food in Munich at these restaurants is. Our server was very polite and she took our orders and suggested some items as well. Food came without too much delay and was very tasty. We stayed and enjoyed for at least 2 hours then back to the festivities once they cleared the bomb threat and started letting everyone back in. If you're in Munich for any reason - Schneider is a great place for some beer, wine and german food! Keep Munching!

That is where we under some time pressure enjoyed four different beers from the brewery, and then bought six small bottles of three of them. They apparently always have the Helles, the Weissbier, and the Leicht. The special of the month was a Pils. We though the Weissbier and the Pils were really good, the Helles was fine, and the Leicht ... passable. Definitely stop by here on the way to the railway station to try and/or buy a nice, local beer!
