Came here yesterday and was extremely disappointed to see the restaurant tank in comparison to my two prior visits. The prices have increased significantly. We were seated after the people who walked in after us. Some tables received water and no complimentary bread/olives while others received no water but complimentary bread/olives. Our bread was also sitting out for some time as the baker was not present to make it fresh at the time. It appeared very stale. The restaurant was half empty but it took over an hour (in addition to the understood 25 minute maklouba prep) for our main entree to come out. When it did, there was no apology and we had to ask if the accompanying labneh was on its way for the maklouba. The maklouba itself had rice grains not fully cooked. The server was avoiding eye contact as we tried to ask for more napkins, water and an update on our order. It then took another thirty minutes for us to get the check and pay, which was only possible because we got up. We watched as people waited so long to not only be seated but to also check out. The menu has a lot to offer of the Palestinian culture but the lack of service, lack of freshness and lack of efficiency won't have us coming back. read more

Have been here twice and it's such always been an amazing experience! Their portion size is massive and the complimentary pita is fluffy and delicious with zaatar and olive oil. Highly recommend their fried cheese and muhammarah. For the entrees, the chicken and kefta plates are amazing and very flavorful. I've also tried their warm milk drink that has very nice rose flavor. We usually have to wait for 10-15 min before getting seated but it's very much worth the wait. The service was fast and attentive. The interior decor is chic and culturally rich. Got take out from here. Started with the Mezze Filistini which had a combination of 5 different dips which were all very good, but seems to a bit pricey for what you get. Great appetizer for sharing. This place is amazing! We came here as a group for a late lunch and got seated immediately. With all the windows around we were able to soak up the sun and enjoy a lovely atmosphere. This spot is decorated well with nice paintings (almost mural style) on the walls. The place looked very inviting and very clean. Since we were a large group, we all ordered something different and some items, such as the Maklouba took about 45 minutes (or was it 25?) to make. The served let us know in advance. One order was huge so I recommend splitting entrees with someone else. Our server was kind enough to make separate checks for us which was a great way for our group (who didn't all know each other) to pay a fair price for what they ordered. I highly recommend this place for a group event or party as the space is huge! You won't have to spend much money on decor, since it's all done! read more

Some of the best middle eastern food in the Allentown area. Hard to find good Mansaf that is not home-made but they crushed it. Mixed grill was cooked to perfection. Cauliflower and eggplant were phenomenal. And the kanafe was elite. The owner and staff were extremely nice and welcoming. Excellent service. Wow I am so impressed. I'm married to a Palestinian so I'm pretty snobby and spoiled when it comes to Arab food, but this place was incredible. So authentic, so unique, I've never come across a more culturally representative Palestinian restaurant anywhere. All of the dishes were items you rarely see on a menu like msakhin, makloubeh, mahshi, but included all of the things my mother in law makes. I chose the muhummarah as my app and the fattat jaj as the main and they were so delicious and came with generous portions. Oh and don't forget the fresh baked bread right behind the counter. Hummus was good and we got to try falafel and parsley. Lentil soup was delicious. Zahir is fried cauliflower served with tahini & pomegranate molasses. It was very good. Beitenjan is fried eggplant also served with tahini & pomegranate molasses. It was so good. Chicken Kebab with basmati rice and salad was good. Lemon & Garlic roasted Chicken Ouzi was pretty good. Maklouba is a delicious chicken & basmati rice dish for two. Kabsa is a chicken and basmati rice dish prepared with yellow raisins. It was absolutely delicious. Kunafa dessert was amazing. We have been going here since the restaurant opened. We hadn't been there for some time because we felt the quality and the service had declined. When there were family members in the restaurant, the service was outstanding. For sometime now, it has seemed as if nobody is managing the place and service was hit or miss. We returned last night and found prices significantly increased and, most disappointing of all, they have discontinued making the pita bread to order. They say they still make it and package it every morning. It still tastes and feels like ordinary pita. We ordered three appetizers, served with pita: falafel, hummus and yogurt with cucumbers. The place seems to be more organized now. The bill was close to $50. read more

Finally got to visit Ayat and the food was pretty amazing!! The dishes were cooked perfectly, I was loving our appetizer and all the options. We ended our dinner with the tahini ice cream. at first I was nervous, but it actually came out nice. The ambiance and decor was beautiful and represented the roots of the food. My husband and I went on an overnight trip to attend a concert in Bethlehem, PA and specifically stopped at Ayat for lunch on the way home. He'd recently been to the Princeton, NJ location and really enjoyed the food. Our visit to the Allentown, PA location did not let us down. We ordered four dishes, Zahir, Fattoush, Muhammarah, and M'Sakhan. Each one was absolutely delicious and the M'Sakhan half chicken was exceptional. Perfectly spiced and unbelievably moist (I'm among the people in the world that dislike that word but I have to use it here!) We got the Limonana to drink which was tart and refreshing. I've been craving maqluba for a while however I'm always hesitant to try home cooked foods like maqluba out at restaurants. I believe dishes like maqluba and mansaf can only be cooked at home. I am Arab and was born in bay ridge Brooklyn so I have visited the bay ridge location once before for wraps. When I heard they opened up another location in Allentown I was really excited that we now have a great middle eastern option in the area. The maqluba was wayyyy better than expected. It really felt like it was homemade. The chicken meat fell right off the bone. The rice was perfectly seasoned and had the perfect amounts of eggplant, cauliflower, and carrots.
