The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and my physiotherapist, Vicky, is truly phenomenal. I highly, highly recommend her if you're in need of physio, she is all kinds of amazing! Car accidents suck but your recovery doesn't have to. In our initial assessment, she helped me fill out a ton of paperwork and gave me the ins and outs of physio and auto insurance. She has been treating me weekly for several months for injuries sustained from an MVA and I see a huge improvement already! Aside from the run-of-the-mill physio exercises and various treatments, I had acupuncture here for the first time as well. I ask her a ton of questions and Vicky is great at looping me into the process.

The clinic staff informed me that I could get representation if I wish and they could assist me in that aspect should I run into any problems dealing with the insurer. As I did not have any problems with the insurer I did not need to take it to that level. As a result I saved money because I did not have to pay a penny to anybody to help me. !!! If you have been injured in a car accident I would highly recommend this clinic for treatment.

Today the honest and straight forward Registered Therapists, Doctors & Health Care Professionals who treat the patients take their time to listen, get to know you and understand what you're going through. The clinic is large with over 2400sq.ft of space and they deal with everything; Nutritionism, Acupuncture, MVA, Assessments, WSIB, Private Insurance, Custom Work Boots & Shoes Custom Sports Braces, etc like any other good clinic in the city. However, unlike most rehab clinics in the city which have depressing atmospheres, this clinic has a pleasant and inviting feel to it that is reinforced after your treatment when you are leaving. I've been in two car accidents and have come to appreciate the level of care they provide and never had a problem getting an appointment. If my work provided me private insurance I would be here more often for treatment. Don't be alarmed to go back for 3-4 sessions. It certainly takes time to heal. Each session is about an hour long. The therapist first applies a gel on the affacted area and massages with a warm massage rod to sooth the nerve inflammation. She then proceeds to use electrodes to pulsate my neck muscles... you can choose the level of intensity. It feels so good that I usually fall alseep! And lastly, she finishes with hand massage and gentle muscle stretching exercises. At the end of each session, Cynthia will give you advice and reminder on what you should do and should not do to prevent further injuries and to relief tensions. Be sure to make an appointment! They will try to accommodate the best they can even on the same day. The staff there are courteous, friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended :)

But the physiotherapist herself was so good that I am going to be back and hope the office and administrative part of the experience was just a fluke. Be wary of "free" consultation. TL;DR: excellent physio experience, terrible office experience. What I Tried: Physiotherapy What I Liked: Physiotherapist Priyanka conducted a variety of tests to isolate specific issues with specific muscles. She was comprehensive, friendly and knowledgeable. She prescribed exercises that were logical to my issue. Most importantly, she explained my challenges and answered all my questions with in a logical and friendly demeanor. A+ What I Didn't: Punctuality (15 min late). Administrative disorganization (had me fill in same forms twice before realizing). Also, the television mounted on the wall plays a repetitive ad that drove me crazy. Felt a bit ripped off. What I'll Try Next: One more round of physio, maybe two. I'd consider more, but pricing! Also.. Maybe orthopedics. Possibly massage. DETAILS: I have been looking for a physio place in the area and decided to give Absolute a try. They offer a free* consultation for your first visit and I figured I'd see if they could tell me more about my hip pain. I do a lot of reading and research on my own (internet physios what's up... AthleanX and 'Bob & Brad'l!) so I had a rough idea, but specific confirmation and clarification from an in-person meeting is better. My 7 pm appointment started 15 minutes late. I had prefilled all my paperwork in advance, so, as I had told them, I only arrived 6 to 8 minutes early instead of the 15 they recommended... I don't mine 5 to 10 minutes lateness, but 15 was a bit excessive since THEY charge $25 if you miss YOUR appointment time with them. This lateness was exacerbated by the ad playing on the TV mounted on the wall. It's a slideshow video on repeat, and it inspired me to bring earphones next time. My annoyance, however, was nearly instantly dispelled when I spoke with the actual physiotherapist, Priyanka. SHE KNOWS HER STUFF. She had me do a series of actions to isolate and determine the issue, clearly explained each exercise test and it's aims, and was oozing knowledge. She used the model skeleton to explain where necessary, and conjured up clever metaphors to help me understand. She also noted it would only take 2 or 3 sessions for me to recover, and told me what exercises to get started on, and did a demo, and gave me feedback on my form. Excellent! Here's the tricky part. She then asked if I wanted treatment today. Appointments are generally 45 minutes long... I had been taken in 15 minutes late... the consultation had taken about 20 minutes or so. So we are sitting at 7:35 or so, and I thought, 'sure'...? I get some hands-on muscle loosening work for about 10 minutes, then the assistants strap me to some nodes connected to a machine and I was left on my own with the electrotherapy... which really didn't do much for me. The centre closes at 8, so about 15 minutes later, I'm off the machine and get along my way. At the exit, I was informed that last 20 odd minutes would be the full $100 since I had gotten the "electro treatment"... Well, I don't agree BUT to be fair... I 100% think Priyanka's free* consultation was worth the $100. But I figure IF that was free, then the 20 or so minutes at the end was only half the treatment I'd normally get. Who charges $100 for 20 minutes!?! That should have been $50, max. And if that was for the full 45 minutes I was there... then the consultation WASN'T free as advertised. Womp womp. This left a good feeling in my hip but a bad feeling in my mouth. Plus, at the end, they also mistakenly got me to fill out the same insurance forms at the end that I had already filled them earlier (but they realized halfway). Hoping for better experience on my next visit and will update review accordingly! Most health places reply to unsatisfactory reviews by saying they look you up in the system but can't find you. In case this happens... check Wednesday July 31, 7 pm :)

For each visit, he asked "Does it feel better?" Not every PT does that and i did improve with each session until the end when i no longer experienced pain. His goal is to "obliterate" the pain thru homework (stretching & excercise, accu-ball which Lifemark gave as part of insurance coverage), moist heat, Medical Accupuncture (hurts like a mother for a split sec but works!), TENS and i think ultrasound but not so much. He is excellent and very knowledgeable about PT and how it will feel for the client -i sing and he told me how the neck stretches might feel awkward for me and he was right! Now that i live in London where Medical Accupunture and his expertise is hard to find i do appreciate the kind and professional team at Lifemark! John and Sai were excellent Massage Therapists. They were a great compliment to my PT treatments with Sal and team. Susan or Suzanne didn't really help and isn't as firm in application or pressure. Robert was an awesome OT for the 1 session we had early on. He is very caring "We're/I'm here for you" is what he said during our session and he was! Don't talk to Catherine their receptionist after a massage. She'll bother u about ur next appointment, discuss treatments as per insurance, when all u want to do is rest. The other one, i think Nicole is much more pleasant.

Ming Fai Chan is the primary doctor here and is very experienced within joint pains, back pains,…read moreacupuncture and massage therapy with many many years practicing and has obtained an MD at University of Toronto and a lot of practice in China. He and his wife both run this clinic - they combine both western and eastern medicine and practices to treat a variety of bone and joint problems. His wife has experience in acupuncture and I heard she is very experienced as well. In the eastern culture it is believed that acupuncture, especially from a master, could be very impactful. From my experience, I've been having problems with my shoulder ever since I was young - this involves overstretched and stressed tendons in and around the joint of my shoulders. This causes occasional pain when doing exercises in certain angles that were bad for my shoulders or playing aggressive sports such as hockey or ultimate frisbee. I've been to a variety of doctors and physiotherapists who were unable to exactly diagnose to problem or help me heal it. Going to this clinic drastically improved my shoulder joints made it feel a lot better and essentially healed it. He provided me with exercises, medical patches and tips on to preserve the state of my shoulder. I recommend anybody with persistent joint pain anywhere on their body to go see this doctor, because he's very diligent and able to resolve the problem immediately. There are some caveats though that it's very expensive, this treatment cost me thousands of dollars and he doesn't speak English well because he primarily practices in Cantonese. His hours are flexible and the clinic works as a mix of walk-ins and appointments. During core hours you should be able to walk-in, but it's safe to make an appointment and the doctors are usually lenient and will try to accommodate you.

Instead, after my adjustment, he caused a compression fracture that was not there before! I know this because the day after the adjustment/ manipulation, I felt so much pain with a fever, I went into emergency, they did an MRI of my spine and told me whatever Chan Ming Fai did (from comparison to my recent MRI), they could see that it was worse. When I went to a more well known chiropractor, he stated the manipulation Chan Ming Fai did on me (from my description of what happened), should have NEVER been done on anyone!! Chan Ming Fai IS TERRIBLE!!! Beware. Secondly, he disclosed other patient information to me. He showed me a patient's information form with the name, phone number, date of birth and their diagnosis and how he helped this person, this is unprofessional and illegal. In fact, as I write this, I am looking up how to report this. Lastly, some of the things he said did not make sense. I was desperate and made a mistake in believing him. I regret it. When I tell others, I find more people that is telling me their horrible experience and that he is a fake. Its one thing he cannot help you, it's horrible when he hurt you from his treatment and make you in a worse pain than you originally was suffering. He should not perform manipulations on people when he is unsure or inexperienced.
