I had two procedures done for my Inspire Sleep Apnea implant there. I can not say enough to express…read moremy gratitude and thanks for the superior treatment I received at Northwest Specialty Hospital in Post Falls, Idaho.

I previously gave a great review to the hospital. Unfortunately after my wife's recent total knee…read morereplacement I have had to revise my review. They have severe issues with staffing, competence. After her surgery she was brought to her room in uncontrollable pain. It appears the nerve block that was administered did not take, and The CRNA failed to inform the surgeon. He was also directed to perform a block after the surgery. He did not. I asked the staff for the next 5 hours to bring in a doctor or anesthesiologist. This never happened. It was only when I went to the nurses station and told them to prepare her to leave AMA, and I would be calling an ambulance to pick her up, did I finally get some help. Before leaving, the Doctor called in a prescription pain relief to Walgreens. When we arrived there, the pharmacist told me he couldn't fill narcotics with in 24hrs. It was very fortunate that I had recently had surgery and had pain medication with me. We also cancelled additional surgeries because of poor treatment with pain management , and staffing concerns. I would never have a procedure there again. I later had a procedure at another facility, and My wife later had 2 other surgeries at Holy Family. OMG, what a difference. She received the very best care, and actually left the hospital laughing. I would not recommend this campus to anyone considering a surgical procedure.

If I could give zero reviews I would. The person that said she was completely abandoned when…read morethings got hard.... that's exactly what he does. Your life is literally at stake if you see this man because he won't admit fault or mistake. Ask him about that before you hire him.... I will forever ask every doctor, for any procedure - what complications they have experienced with previous patients and what the most serious complication was. Don't make the same mistake I did and not ask that question. He preformed a surgery on me without giving me all of the details of my condition. He only shared them with me after the first surgery was a failure. After the failed decompression he recommended the very surgery another surgeon had recommended in the first place...that Kent originally told me I absolutely did not need. I looked at him dumbfounded when he told me my instability from before my decompression surgery was 16 degrees and anything over 10 degrees they recommend a fusion. I asked why on earth he hadn't told me this information before my decompression.... he said because I was too young. He misled me by not telling me how bad my instability was, in my opinion, to ensure 2 surgeries for the monetary gain. He literally gouged out my ligaments and tendons, of course I was then going to need a fusion.... if I needed it before the decompression I absolutely needed it after. My MRI two months after surgery showed artifact left in my spine from the surgery. The whole experience was pure hell. The surgeon I went to for the fusion, after 6 months of agonizing pain, said "it's not my style to put down other surgeons as we all have our own ideas and ways of performing surgeries, but it was a massacre in there" this all started when my baby was 4 months old.... I lost almost 3 years of her life until I finally felt human again. The healing from 2 back surgeries 6 months apart was incredibly slow and brutal. He stole those years from me, that I will never get back. I pray this helps someone else from making the biggest mistake of their life.... because that's what hiring Roland Kent was for me.

If you don't care about bedside manner, follow-up, or money/billing, he's your man. Yes, I am…read moregrateful that he was able to semi-fix one of my issues in my back ( my leg bothered me and he did semi fix that although my leg still isn't right) but he was a terrible human being to me. I literally saw him 2x. First was for him to tell me about the surgery, second was 4 hours after the surgery ( never saw my Husband in the waiting room to tell him how I did) he came into my room, said he surgery was fine and he had to go to another surgery- goodbye. LITERALLY!!!! The weeks after my surgery, NO ONE from his office called to see how I was doing. The Hospital I had my surgery not only sent me a "get better" card and called to see how I was doing. Roland Kent didn't give a crap about me as a patient or a human being. Soooo cold. I think after back surgery it would have been nice for my surgeon to answer some of my questions. I would NEVER recommend him. Like I said, he did an OKAY job - leg/back still hurts, but SO CRAPPY as a person. Then.... His office calls and tells me it's time to start doing physical therapy and did I want to go with them ( Axis Spine offers physical therapy) or someplace else. I figure that since the surgeon was out of that office the PT would know exactly what to do. I go with them, Fine. Then I get my first invoice. $2500!!! They don't take my insurance. HUH? They tell me it's my responsibility to find out about my insurance and I need to pay. WTF???? Here I am, recovering from surgery, on drugs, and we never speak of insurance. HUH? They negotiated slightly BUT... the whole thing was a disaster and just WRONG that I had to pay one more cent after paying my huge part of meeting deductibles, etc. of insurance and now I have to pay "out-of-network." They SUCK. Oh, I go into Axis Spine/Kent for follow up ( never see him but see PA ) and they want an X-ray to see how the hardware is ( this is done in their office ) and I get charged Out-of-Network $250. It's been a MISERABLE experience with Roland Kent and Axis Spine and trust me, anyone who asks about my back surgery or PT I tell my experience. Hope I can help at least one person with my ranting. Sorry to write so much but I don't like being treated like crap.
