Just recently started going here after doing some research. I've been to over 30studios in Michigan…read moreall claiming to be the "best." Studios that have recorded Jay Z or Kid Rock, etc. I've paid all types of prices from $20/hr to $125/hr. Many studios that have great equipment yet the engineers know nothing! After getting frustrated with a previous studio who during my session would leave and take smoke/drink breaks and still charge me, I began looking elsewhere. I came across Metro37 on Craigslist and said to myself, "why bother." Yet I gave them a call anyways. After speaking to them I set a day to come record for a few hours to test it out and I haven't been anywhere else! The sound was amazing, studio from outside looked small but is very big and very well kept! Has many separate rooms including a live instrument room. The engineer took his time and provided me with an excellent mix. I even sent the mix to a studio in Tennessee where I have friends at who asked, "who mixed this? This is an awesome mix." I didn't feel like a customer here. I felt relaxed, not rushed and the engineer even gave input to my music and made small changes that made a huge difference! I've been to so many studios that just hit record and sit back and drain your wallet. But here they worked with me, answered any questions, helped make changes to music etc. Just an awesome experience with amazing, top notch quality and very good price! Don't hesitate to contact this studio if you're looking for somewhere to record!

So I started looking elsewhere. After a lot of research I called Grosse Pointe Music Academy. The staff was very professional and was able to answer all of my questions. All of the instructors either have a degree in music or are working toward their music degree - unlike other "schools" where apparently being in a band qualifies you to teach music! The location looks and feels like a music school, with sheet music books and an understandable billing system - a far cry from whatever was going on at the other place (Axis!) where you never saw any sheet music and you felt like the manager found the instructors by cruising local bars - "hey dude, you can play guitar, do you wanna teach?" I am excited for their June recital! I would highly encourage anyone to give them a try.

The teachers are engaging with both the kids and parents and teach us about the fundamentals of music while having a ton of fun! The location is also perfect for kids and during class the kids are free to move and play with each other and the parents. Music Together is a great program, but Hummingbirds Together makes it even better with great teachers! As my daughter ages I will look to the Canton Music Academy for additional music classes as well since the teachers are of such a great caliber.

Putting your baby in daycare is hard, but I walk out of TLE every morning knowing not just that my…read moredaughter will be "okay", but that she's surrounded by people who actually love and care for her, and have her best interests at heart. This is, honestly, more than I expected out of daycare, and makes all the difference in the world. Ms. Miren and Ms. Denise from Infant A are very experienced and incredibly kind and caring. They always kept us up to date on how our daughter was doing, answered all sorts of questions, gave us advice, handled the nuances of our daughter's food allergies, and dealt with our general overbearing-new-parent vibes with grace. We can't thank them enough. In Infant B, Ms. Crystal, Ms. Joel, and Ms. Lourden were equally amazing. They just care deeply about all the kids in their classroom, and it shows through in so many ways; from constantly getting down on the floor to play with the little ones, to taking TLE's fun-themed "spirit weeks" very seriously, to being generally just fun and silly with their kiddos, and putting insane levels of effort into arts and crafts, you can tell that this is not just a job for Crystal, Joel, and Lourden. Finally, the front desk and support staff, as well as the floaters and part-time employees are just plain lovely as well. I think that taking care of children - especially the little ones - is a really tough job (not to mention dealing with all of us parents!), and I couldn't ask for a better group of people to take care of my daughter.
