The office of Dr. Axelrode is very professional, courteous and most importantly gives great quality of care. The office reception is very efficient allowing patients to use a touchscreen for their appointment or speaking with one of the friendly receptionists. The care for my eldest for his orthodontia braces is top notch. In addition Dr. Axelrode noticed some issues and recommended oral therapy which has helped a lot as well. We've seen such tremendous change in our child's bite being at Axelrode just under a year. Dr. Axelrode is great at explaining what the treatment plan is and answers all questions you may have. His staff is also very responsive if you call in with a concern or question. We were worried about braces but Stacey, our orthodontic assistant, was AMAZING. Our child was very nervous but Stacey walked her through everything she was doing and built confidence and trust. I highly recommend Stacey, and genuinely wish she had put in my braces when I was a kid! The staff in general is kind. We had one less than ideal experience with a staff member but it was a single instance and haven't seen that staff member since. They also give "ortho bucks" at each appointment that kids can trade in for toys or gift cards. It's something our child looks forward to at the end of each appointment. read more

Dr. Eric and his staff are amazing and some of the kindest people you'll meet! I got braces here and was nervous getting treatment as an adult (started tx at 23 yrs old) but they never made me feel out of place. All the staff, including the receptionists (Lydia), the RDAs, and assistants as well as Dr. Eric, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, prices are very fair, and the quality of treatment is something you can't get anywhere else! 10/10 recommend this place for your orthodontic needs. read more

Unfortunately Hawaiian airlines lost my luggage which contained my toiletries bag with my Invisalign retainers. I contacted Axelrode Orthodontics for a new Invisalign retainers set (Vivera) and they told me they needed me to come in for a new scan. I did. A few weeks later I went in when my retainers were ready and I was blindsided and shocked when they pulled out a set of generic retainers that I've never heard of. I was confused and told the guy I had ordered the Invisalign (Vivera) retainers since that's what I had with my initial treatment. The guy told me they don't carry those anymore. Basically, they withheld this information when I called for a new pair of VIVERA retainers. I was not happy. I paid $400 for generic retainers that didn't work like Vivera and my teeth started slightly shifting again after giving the generic brand a try. I called their office to ask for my scan so I can get Vivera retainers through Invisalign and was told they would call me back but they never did. I then contacted another orthodontic office who makes Vivera Invisalign retainers and to my surprise their price was cheaper compared to axelrode's generic retainers. So, moral of the story is, if you need this place again in the future for a new set of retainers, you won't get transparency and will get tricked into buying their new generic brand. And for this reason, I no longer recommend them. read more

My daughter and son have been going to this place since last year. My daughter had a removable expander, and within 2 months of wearing it 3 pieces of the metal part came off, each piece one week apart (basically, the expander slowly disintegrated over 3 weeks). We couldn't go in after the first piece came off as we were on holiday overseas. We were super lucky that my 8 year old girl did not choke on any of the pieces while eating or sleeping. Today, my son almost choked on the sharp metal piece that came off HIS fixed expander. Pictures attached. I am now worried that his fixed expander will start disintegrating, similar to my daughter's. This incident was the last straw that made me write this review. Not sure what brand of expander the doctor uses (I doubt its quality) but those incidents make me extremely worried to continue going there with my kids. I was unable to contact the clinic with this emergency on Saturday. They are closed. I am praying no additional pieces come off until the clinic is open again on a Monday. read more

Both of my children are in the first phase of braces and I am SO happy that we selected Axelrode Orthodontics! The office is lovely, the staff are friendly, professional, and kind to the kids, and the scheduling runs like clockwork. The results so far have been amazing. But the reason I chose to write this review today is because of the amazing patient care my daughter received today (Saturday). The wire on her expander snapped last night and was sticking her in the tongue. It's the weekend and the office isn't open. When I realized that our efforts at pain control were clearly not working, and waiting till Monday wasn't an option, I contacted their on-call line and explained the problem. Dr Axelrode himself jumped in his car and met us five minutes later, smile on his face, and removed the offending wires. He was so kind and understanding, which I really appreciated because my daughter was worried that someone would be mad at her for the inconvenience. I highly recommend Dr Axelrode and his staff. My daughter sees another orthodontist in the area. But I needed a second opinion on her ortho's recommendation for oral surgery, and a friend of a friend recommended Dr. Axelrode's office. When I called to request an appointment, they were extremely kind and caring and agreed to provide a consultation. When my child and I met with the staff and Dr. Axelrode, I couldn't have been more pleased with they way they treated us and the valuable advice they provided. I'm so grateful that they gave us their time even knowing that were are already under treatment with another orthodontist office. By comparison, I had first called Dr. Sammann's office in Lafayette to ask for help with a second opinion, and the woman who answered the phone acted like it was very rude that I would even ask Dr. Sammann to provide a second opinion on another local orthodontist's diagnosis and told me that no, they wouldn't take the appointment. In my mind, oral surgery is still surgery. And you always get a second a opinion before subjecting your 8-year-old child to anesthesia and surgery. Thankfully, Dr. Axelrode cares about children and believes in helping people make the best decisions. Much appreciated! read more
