They were so great explaining to all of us how the best way to throw successfully. After about a 5 minutes both kids were hitting the target and having a great time doing it. The targets use virtual projection screens, so you're not just throwing at the same bullseye all night... you can choose from a ton of different games. The gentleman who got us set up was incredibly helpful, explained everything clearly, and even brought out some smaller throwing axes for us to try when we were playing the darts game. That extra level of attention really made the experience feel personalized and welcoming. The bartender was equally wonderful! Super friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. Everyone we interacted with made us feel welcome and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It's clear that the people here care about creating a great experience for their guests. Max Action Arena offers games such as axe throwing, mini escape rooms, virtual reality and…read moreadventure rooms. There is also a bar inside. Some of the activities are first come, first serve and others may require a reservation. I was introduced to Max Action in December and decided to go back this month to check it out with a friend. They have a rechargeable play card that time is added to in order to access the games - this card can also be used at In The Game. We purchased time to try the mini-escape rooms. Some of the puzzles we were able to solve and some we were not able to figure out in time. There were a few issues with some of the rooms, however, once we inquired about it at the desk a tech came to verify and fix the issues with the rooms. The employees were gracious enough to reimburse our lost time with the rooms that needed to be reset. We still had a good time. One thing to know, is that some of the escape rooms require more than one person so going in alone would not work. I would go back to try some of the other activities or to see if I can defeat the escape rooms that we didn't solve. It is a neat place to spend time hanging out with friends.

Where the business feels lacking are in two areas, presentation and reward. We have done over a dozen escape rooms at various locations both in town and out of town, and each one of them presents you with a video or story at the start of the room to help set the mood and tone. Lockbusters just told us about the types of locks you'd encounter and that there was nothing high above to deal with. I had to ask for any kind of story and was told "It kind of changes around a bit, but there is a missing guy named Kevin you're trying to save before time runs out and you become part of the collection." It was really a bit disappointing. The other area I'd say needs real improvement is in reward for completing the room. We finished with about 13 and a half minutes to spare and unless we'd gone to check in the first room we were not told how well we did. There are no photo ops like every other Escape Room place, and no merchandise to purchase to celebrate. These are all missed opportunities and honestly kind of left us feeling a little let down given the price paid to play. We might circle back to try out another room, but Lock Busters is certainly not top of my list to check out again.

The bartenders are awesome, and of course I had to get my staple, an espresso martini. They add a cute decoration ontop in the form of two axes AND it's made with Lineage espresso. The food is delicious. I had the 2600 which has a heaping amount of filet pieces. It's served with chips and is so yummy. This is a cute place for date night or hanging with friends! Our two Parsons offices, the Downtown Orlando office and the Altamonte Springs office, came together for a team-building event, and everyone had an amazing time. Her cordiality, professionalism, and willingness to help throughout the entire process certainly did not go unnoticed. She made everything so easy and was always available to assist us. We also want to give a huge shout-out to Austin, the Manager, who went above and beyond to make sure our group was having a great time and that everyone was well taken care of. His attention and hospitality truly made a difference. And what can we say about the extraordinary Ian, Bryh, and Morgan? You were all awesome! So much fun! When you first get there you fill out consents/waivers of course, and get started! The instructor was so fun and personable and really supplemented the experience just by being awesome and encouraging! They help teach you how to throw and even though the concept can seem (and certainly can be) dangerous, they do a lot to make sure you're safe! ONE THING TO KNOW: WEAR CLOSED TOE SHOES!! It is a requirement ! Which makes total sense but if you're trying to do this spontaneously, it might not be the first thing on your mind so it's good to note! I was actually a little sore the next day, so yes it is strenuous! It's such a good time and definitely so much fun, especially if you're competitive. I one thousand percent recommend this!
