This review is long overdue! I used Awesome Entertainment for my wedding reception in San Francisco in February of 2009. DJ Zan was our emcee and DJ Peace was our disc jockey. We originally saw DJ Zan and DJ Peace at a wedding in San Diego in May of 2008. We had been to many weddings during the past two years (15 actually) and we both agreed that we loved their energy and spirit. It was undeniable, they had a contagious feeling about them. We had a lot more fun at this reception despite not knowing a lot of people there. We took their business card and didn't think much else about it. The next day, we flew back to Las Vegas and who would take the last seat next to us but DJ Zan. We struck up a conversation with him and he easily sold himself without even knowing he did. Even before we were engaged, the BF turned to me and said we have to him at our reception! This was a sign! Fast forward to half a year later and we were setting up our own wedding reception. I contacted the bride from the May wedding and she said she had seen DJ Zan years ago and has been referring him to many of her friends. It was only fitting that when her day arrived, she would use him too. I was glad to hear that she had such a great experience with them also. We contacted DJ Peace and DJ Zan, and how lucky we were that DJ Zan was in Vegas so we could discuss the logistics with him. And even though our reception was in San Francisco, they were willing to work with us without us breaking the budget. They were both professional, entertaining and engaging, and we received tons of positive feedback from our guests. Awesome Entertainment is truly AWESOME! DJ Peace was referred to us by our wedding coordinator (Yingka from Master Plans Events & Designs). We were looking for a DJ for our wedding in Hawaii on 11/11/11. Obviously it was one of the popular days to get married, especially in Hawaii. We contacted some DJs in Hawaii and met with some of them but didn't get that "he's the one" feeling. But when we met with DJ Peace, we knew he had to be "the one". My husband and I love to party, have a good time with our friends and family so it was important to us to have a AWESOME DJ to make the wedding feel like a big party! Well thankfully DJ Peace (as our DJ) and DJ Zan (as our emcee) was available. We were on a budget but we knew we had to have them for our wedding =) But not to worry cause they worked with us without breaking our budget and let me tell you it is worth every penny. DJ Peace was so helpful throughout the process when we were getting our program ready. He knew all the songs we wanted and even gave us lots of great ideas when we were stuck on music selections. If you want great energy and people to have a good time, DJ Peace and DJ Zan are the guys for your party for sure. They had everyone at our reception dancing and partying all through the night...I mean they had older people (you know parents and aunts and uncles) up on the dance floor dancing the night away. It was amazing. And on top of all of that, DJ Peace went out of his way and became ordained to be our officiant. Again we tried to look for an officiant in Hawaii but of course they were all booked and the ones that were available just didn't feel right. Again he worked closely with us to understand what we were looking for and made sure we were comfortable with what he would say and the best thing of all was he made us enjoy the moment while we were there at the alter. We will never forget the day, it was so AWESOME. Our friends and family has told us how awesome the wedding was and how much they enjoyed it. DJ Peace was the MC at my daughters wedding on Saturday and he did a fantastic job! Everyone had a great time and DJ Peace was very entertaining. Awesome Entertainment is simply AWESOME ! We had DJ/MC Zan at our wedding and he exceeded all expectations. We were a half hour behind schedule because an emergency right before we started (collapsed guest - Guest is fine, by the way - Paramedic had to be called in), and Zan not only managed to bring us back to schedule, but he also brought everyone's attention to the event and kept them there for the entire night, with games and a lot of interactions. Guests loved him. The preparations by Peace and Zan from pre wedding, start to finish are just AWESOME. DJ Mark Peace Thomas is truly awesome. There is no need to look anywhere else for a DJ. Mark is the best in the business. My wife and I had the honor of not only having Mark as our DJ, but as our officiate as well. We could not have been happier. Mark went above and beyond in making sure all of our questions, concerns and request were meet from the time we hired him all the way up until the last moments of our event. Mark absolutely exceeded our expectations. My wife and I spent a good few months trying to find a DJ. Strangely enough there are some companies that won't let you meet their DJ's. In my opinion weddings are too personal of an event for a couple not to get to know their DJ. When you hire a DJ, you want to feel like everything will be taken care of. Make made sure of this and then some. Perhaps the classiest and most personal aspect to what Mark brings to the table is the "Love Story". We had no idea when Mark asked us to each write a little bit about when we meet and what we love about each other that he would take those two stories and create one beautiful "Love Story". He took our two versions and created one beautiful story that he shared with our guest. This was our favorite part to our wedding and something that our guest and we will never forget about our day. I have never heard of another DJ that does this. To this day we get nothing but praise from our wedding guest about how wonderful they thought our DJ-Officiate was and what an AWESOME time they had. I would encourage everyone to book Mark as soon as possible before he is not available for your date. He will make your special day a day your will never forget. Mark is amazing! He met with us twice in person before the wedding and went over all the details. He came up with an idea to introduce each bridal party member with a theme song and fun fact which was a HUGE hit at the reception. No a thing went wrong and all my other vendors knew him so that helped a lot too. I was recommended Mark by a work friend and everything she told me about him was spot on. I didn't realize that DJs are basically the wedding planners and handle the flow and order of the day. A bad one can ruin your day so I am so glad we chose right! You would be foolish to not trust Mark with your wedding as I have heard horror stories about other DJs. He is the best in the business and we are so lucky to have had him! read more

I need to preface my review by saying that easily half our wedding guests were traditional Asian and over the age of 50. Naturally, during the planning process, the topic of the music/entertainment was of great concern to us. We wanted everyone to have a good time, but expected we would lose half the crowd by 8 PM. Thankfully... we were completely wrong! And we are absolutely certain our DJ played a huge part. DJ Keith was great in so many ways that we appreciate all the more now, looking back on the day. More than anything else, I was impressed by his ability to read the crowd. He played some oldies and pulled off a miraculous feat--Korean relatives in their 60s on the dance floor! He threw in a line dance and people, young and old, LOVED it. His transitions were seamless and there were no equipment issues whatsoever. He was very much involved, keeping us on schedule and making all our announcements, but he wasn't obnoxious, awkward, or self-promoting in any way. Equally important, DJ Keith was professional and easygoing throughout the planning process. We must be the worst clients in every way, because we started off without a clue what we wanted for the night, were making music selections up until the final week, and broke every other wedding planning rule in the book, but DJ Keith patiently and enthusiastically helped us create our ideal experience. The day of, he was so relaxed and calm, we felt completely at ease. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and got a lot of compliments from our friends and family-- people are still talking about it! DJ Peace was our DJ for our wedding 2 years ago. We were very unhappy with him. He had "corny" ways of doing things and was not up to our caliber. He is overrated and overpriced. A DJ makes the wedding and this was the one weak link in the entire event. I was very dissappointed and still have regrets as of today. read more

We knew from the minute we spoke with Mark Peace Thomas, he was the one to DJ my daughter's wedding. He is so intune with the couple and family. He had my daughter and son-in-law fill out a questionare that asked about them so he knew their family and firends and he incorporated that personal touch when he DJd. He kept the reception going. From the speeches, to first dance, to the closing song. Mark made the reception go smoothless. I really believe that a DJ can make or break a wedding, and Mark Peace definitely made my daughter's wedding! I received, and still am receiving, compliments on how well the night went. Does everybody think that their own wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to? Up until my own wedding, my brother's wedding over 10 years ago was the best wedding that I have ever been to. Both weddings have one thing in common: DJ Peace. When DJ Peace did my brother's wedding, I kept thinking to myself, "Damn, this guy is good. I want him to do my wedding someday." And the rest is history. I think what makes DJ Peace different from all the other DJs is that he is a certified wedding consultant, and he's full of great ideas. For example, he said for the speeches, you want to end with the strongest speaker for a lasting impression. He said for the grand entrance, it would be more meaningful if each person came out one by one, instead of as a couple. And as each person came out, he said a few words about that person, so that my guests could get to know that person, and it's not just another cookie-cutter wedding where the guests know nothing about the people in your bridal party. I will tell you that hands down, our grand entrance that DJ Peace did was the most memorable thing about our reception. My guests were roaring with laughter. You don't want a DJ that just plays music. You want someone who can MC, who can set the tone for the rest of the evening, who can entertain, can think on his feet, is witty, can get everybody excited, and is downright hilarious. DJ Peace can do all of that and more. DJ Peace is very detail oriented and has tons of experience. For example, I wanted to do a photo montage and my catering manager and wedding planner both told me to bring my laptop. However, DJ Peace told me to make sure the audio-visual guys have the cable to support my macbook. Sure enough, they did not have the proper equipment, and if it wasn't for DJ Peace, all my hard work putting together that slideshow would have been for nothing. DJ Peace helped me with my music mix for my first dance, when someone dropped their drink, he notified someone to clean it up right away, he played songs on my playlist that I chose, and when nobody was dancing to Thriller (something that I don't understand) he cut the song short and changed it to a different song that got everybody immediately back on the dance floor again. My family surprised me by having a dance off, and when one family member started to get too inappropriate, DJ Peace quickly ended it. Finally, one of our guests went up to DJ Peace to ask for his business card because his daughter is getting married soon. After the wedding, the first thing that people said to us was "You had a great DJ." The right DJ can make or break your wedding, and is probably one of your most important vendors. You can tell how much fun your own guests had at your own wedding. And I can honestly say that our wedding was so so much fun, and it's mostly all because of DJ Peace. So I know I'm not boasting about my own wedding, because I'm giving DJ Peace all the credit. I am so appreciative and grateful of all that he has done for us. With all my heart, I would highly highly recommend him. But don't take my advice, see for yourself. Just give him a call and talk to him and see/hear for yourself. DJ Mark "Peace" Thomas was the DJ at our wedding in August 2014. When we started the planning, we decided to keep things simple and fun, and thought we would just hire someone to set up a sounds system and plug in an ipod with a wedding playlist. However, at the urging of the coordinator at our venue (The Caltech Athenaeum), we had a meeting with Mark. We had read a few people online that said a good DJ was what made a wedding fun and kept the party going. Mark did not give us a hard sell, but just told us what he would provide and pointed us to his website. After our meeting and looking at his website, we were sold. It turned out to be a great decision. Mark worked with us before our wedding to find out our 'love story'. He then wove this into the reception, telling bits and pieces as the night progressed. Our guests loved it. He also perfectly read the crowd, keeping the dance floor full the entire night without being pushy. He even got my 71 year old mother to lead a group dance. In the end, I felt like everyone had a great time; my wife and I certainly did. After the wedding, Mark sent us a video he had made of the ceremony and reception. We had not expected this or paid for it. It was a really nice touch and a lovely video. Hiring Mark turned out to be a great decision and I could not have been happier with his professionalism and skill. read more
