I have read many of the reviews regarding this salon and here's my take on TBA......ok, not sure…read morewhat others are used to but the saying "when in Rome, do as Romans do" is true. This is not an upscale Buckhead salon where you're going to have a private appointment and be offered a glass of champagne! This is a typical urban-hood weave shop that actually happens to have an abundance of talent inside!! I have been here several times and honestly the majority of the time I am pleased. I was especially pleased this past weekend when Kaye did my sew-in w/lace closure. She was meticulous about her braiding technique and laid the closure just right! The final look was popping!! Thank you Kaye, I'll be back Now I will say that you'd be better off to bring cash, because if you plan to use your debit card, you can plan to pay an extra 7% for doing soI know right!!! Also there are extra prices for curls depending upon size and other a la carte services so do yourself a favor and ask questions so you won't be looking perplexed when you get your final bill!

Went online to see the price of a shampoo & braid down. It stated $25- braid down $30-shampoo. Even…read morecalled in where the lady quoted the exact same price. So i went in today with my daughter. Was asked to sign in. It was about 8 minutes later that this older woman asked us what we were getting done. I told her. She said it would be $60 each. I said online said something different & the person I spoke with said the exact same price as online. She apologized, not for trying to rip us off, but for getting "the wrong price" TWICE!! Lol we politely declined getting ripped off by a black establishment and left. I will never ever EVER go there again.

Definitely enjoyed my trip to RC Dominican Salon. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and had a…read moreminimal wait before I was asked wait I wanted done for the day. The shop was spacious and clean, with a nail salon on the other side. It was way more well kept than some other "salons" I have been to, and there were no kids running around and screaming. Nice and peaceful for a Sunday afternoon. Nancy, one of the shampooers, gave me the best head scrub I ever had in my life! My scalp felt squeaky clean once I got out of her chair. The stylist who took care of me, Rommel, was great. He asked me what I wanted done and was very nice. I got a wash & set w/ a deep conditioner, blowout and trim all for $45. He did a great job and I was up and on with the rest of my day in no time :) I would definitely recommend this salon and will return to get my hair done.

DO NOT go here if you value your natural hair!…read more I am beyond disappointed with the service I received at this Dominican beauty salon. I brought my daughter and myself in for a shampoo and silk press. I specifically chose this salon because it is known for handling natural hair. The first appointment went well--our hair looked silky, smooth, and beautiful. In fact, it lasted longer than usual. At the time, I thought they just did a really good job. However, things quickly took a turn. I am a licensed cosmetologist, and though I no longer work behind the chair, I know hair and I know chemicals. After a couple of weeks, I went to wash my own hair and immediately smelled relaxer. I tried to brush it off, thinking I was overreacting--but as my hair dried, I knew something was wrong. My natural curls were gone in places--one side of my head still had curls, the other side was limp and straight. This is a classic sign of chemical damage. My daughter's hair started shedding too. Her curls are also not the same, and we are both now dealing with severe breakage. It's a well-known concern in the Black hair community that some Dominican salons secretly mix relaxers into shampoos to make the hair easier to press. Let me be clear: this is not only unethical--it's dangerous. At no point was I told a relaxer would be used. There was no consultation, no consent, and more importantly, no neutralizing afterward. Just conditioner and heat styling. This is a recipe for long-term damage, and it shows. To the stylists at this salon: you had no right to alter the structure of my hair or my daughter's without consent. You've caused irreversible damage to our natural hair, and that is not something I take lightly. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the State Board, and I am also consulting a lawyer. If this has happened to anyone else, I urge you to speak up. This kind of negligence must be held accountable. Natural hair does not need to be chemically altered to be beautiful or manageable. We came for a silk press--not a secret relaxer. Be cautious and protect your crown. We deserve better.

From the initial phone call with the owner Valencia , to the staff was a great experience. Valencia…read more, assured me over the phone that my niece's hair and well being would be taken care of . She listened to my concerns and I didn't feel rushed . I expressed to Valencia , the concerns of the braider being child friendly and that I could bring my own braiding hair . She stated that bringing my own hair was absolutely acceptable. Since the makeup of her clientele is children ages 3-18, she assured me the staff would be understanding of my nieces needs. She was so nice over the phone and answered all of my questions. It was very simple to book the appointment with a 25.00 deposit to hold her spot . As the appointment time was near I received reminder text messages until the last 30 minutes to the appointment time. If you set an appointment with Kiddos and forget the date and time , it's definitely your fault . The text messages may have been automated possibly, but regardless it will be your fault for sure . There is an open parking lot and it's relatively small but It wasn't difficult to find parking . The shop is located on a one way street. Therefore beware that same way you came will not be the same direction you will leave . Just for your information ( during this time period) the road adjacent to the shop is under construction as well . I can imagine that causing frustration on a busy time of day . Thankfully , appointment wasn't on a very busy day . When I arrived , there were only two clients which were children of course . I don't think I've ever been to a salon where it's child based. The braiders acknowledge our presence when we walked in and advised me to sign in at the front desk upon arrival. The manager informed me that the assigned braider was on her way . Once she arrived she walked right over to us with a smile . She introduced jerked as Alexis and she took my niece to the back for a shampoo . Typically she's afraid to get her hair shampooed but she was calm and excited to get her hair done. Ms. Alexis , was very nice to her and talked to her the way anyone that's experienced with children should . She addressed me as Auntie since I told her I was her aunt . Which was perfect , so that my niece wouldn't address me by my first name , later on. As a content creator I took video of the experience ( no other kids were recorded ) In fact my nieces face wasn't exposed as well. I asked Ms. Alexis if she was ok with being on film . She obliged. It was an over all great experience! Ms. Alexis was so nice and friendly as the other braiders . We all laughed together and told a few jokes . It was all appropriate around children . They made me feel like we'd been attending the salon for years . I fact there were children who had been coming for hair services for years . The children were so cute . I love children and I think it's nice to have a salon catered just for them . It should be a barber shop only for children . When Ms. Alexis finished her hair. It was so beautiful. She had a pretty blue bow in her hair which was free with a hairstyle. She was photo ready for sure ! She smiled and loved her hair . As we left the other braiders assured her she was pretty in her new hairstyle. I thought that was so nice of them . All of the ladies there who were braiding hair that day were so talented . They really knew their stuff! What touched me the most is seeing fathers bringing their daughters in for hair services. Some carried their little princess in their arms . As a society , we don't give fathers their flowers enough. There's some great dads out there. Shout out to the dads who bring their girls to kiddos !! It was so nice to see. I will be bringing my niece back !!

Searching for a new Salon/Stylist home that opens on Sundays, positive atmosphere, experienced professional women, is not easy! Alexus did an amazing job with my hair! She handled my natural hair with care - blow dried and provided an amazing silk press and trimmed my ends! I also have to give a shout out to Brittany who kindly started me off with my scalp scrub, shampoo, conditioner and last but not least steam. I really felt like I was at a mini spa. I was so relaxed I fell asleep at the sink. I also have to give a shout out to Kimberly because she knew it was a 911 day when, I walked in with my cap on. I truly recommend Mane Hair!

Hidden gem! (Note:…read moreThe address listed on this Yelp page is wrong! You have to look up Mane Hair LLC on Google maps to get the right address. I got lost on the drive over.) I had an amazing experience at Mane Hair. The staff is extremely warm and friendly. It felt very down-to-earth, genuine and relaxed. I have been to other salons where the vibe is cold and uncomfortable. It was just $30 (this amount is not including tip) for a high quality hair cut. Excellent value! The stylist asked me about what I wanted and gave me exactly what I wanted. (Almost like she could read my mind) She was sure to ask about what length I wanted. She made an initial cut on a lock of hair just to make sure I was good with the length. I have never had so much thought and consideration provided for me when getting my hair done. The hair stylist was extremely empathetic. The staff is sure to hype you up with compliments. I felt amazing after leaving! It might seem cheesy to some but it really made me feel good. I'll definitely be a repeat customer! I overheard that the stylists at Mane Hair don't have to pay in order to work at the salon (which I guess is apparently a thing in the hair salon industry). So you can feel good that the hair stylists are being treated relatively fairly. Overall, I highly recommend!
