I have been…read morelooking for a good salon closer to home and was happy to see this one day while driving. I was totally elated to see the online booking option with detailed service and price list. I loathe going to salons and being totally surprised by the cost at the end of the service. So much so - if I don't know the service costs up front, I won't even go. I was greeted warmly by Jacque and her husband. They were super friendly and inviting. So was Michael! I had a wash, condition and press. The shampoo was pretty good and the conditioner was nice and tingly During the condition Michael placed a hot towel over my head and then a shower cap. I am very used to having a shower cap after a conditioner to let it soak in a little before rinsing, so I had no reason to think this was an additional service to a wash and condition. My hair was styled in soft curls with care and not too many passes of the flat iron. When it was time to pay, I was told that the service would actually be $15 more than what I booked because of the hot towel. I was really thrown off and it immediately ruined the great experience I had until that point. If I had been told up front, or given the opportunity to agree to that, it would be different. However, not mentioning until time to pay feels a bit dishonest because now I am forced to pay no matter what. This is the only reason why I probably won't return because the there is no actual transparency of pricing when booking online. I would recommend the salon for their work cleanliness and free parking but just advise to be super clear on what a customer's cost would be.

I got an appointment with Ron on a Friday, and I'm so glad that I did…read more Ron is talented, and passionate about his work. I didn't have a complicated request, so is pretty easy to cut my hair. He asked, multiple times, if I was okay with the amount of hair that he was cutting off. I appreciated that because you can tell that, based on experience, the amount of hair I was cutting off probably led to a lot of regret later on. Not me though, I was happy with my haircut, and he also offered to do bang trims in between appointments. The interior is really cute, it is a mixture of history, modern, and eclectic design. There's also a giant needle plant growing by the window, and Ron said that it has been there for decades. You can't miss it when you're walking by, it's probably what catches people's attention first.

They have no integrity because they let you leave the shop looking like this, as pictures provided. You ask for one thing, and they leave you with A child like version. And as if it's not already bad what Ron had done to my hair, They don't admit to their faults and they ask you, "what did you expect?". Well not this folks. Don't waste your time. They won't even admit with the mistakes they made. Don't go here, spend a little bit extra money and actually go to professionals. If you want your money back, they fight with you. They won't give you their tip back because they believe they deserve it. The shop is a scam and unfortunately, I got the blunt end of that. I went in for a balayage which I showed to Ron, and he told me he could do that after he asked another hairstylist four times what to do. I should've known and seen all the red flags. Ron brags about his 35+ years of experience, but do these pictures look like that to you? All I'm going to say is don't go here. They have no integrity, they let you leave their shop looking a hot mess and then they lie about the results. Then they fight with you about what's the reality. Don't go here.

After nearly a year of watching this salon from afar and seeing it pop up on TikTok, I finally…read morewalked into Flower Atl Braids and I'm so glad I did. Growing up, I was no stranger to African braiding salons. But as I got older, the tightness and discomfort pushed me toward Black American braiders. Unfortunately, that came with its own trauma: sky-high prices, inconsistent booking, and losing an entire day in someone's chair. I was over it. I knew I needed to return to what I knew--the efficiency and reliability of African braiders. I arrived early on a Monday morning, the first client of the day. I was greeted by one of the braiders and instructed to call the owner, Flower, to confirm my style. I requested medium knotless braids, waist-length, with a custom color mix (1B/30/27). Flower quoted me $250, a fair and honest price considering the style, length, and color. Two braiders worked on me--Sophie and another braider whose name I didn't catch, but it starts with an M based on the sign-in sheet. The shop was clean and everything ran smoothly. My braiders were initially hesitant about the color mix, but once they saw it finished, they loved it and so did I. The braids ended up being a little longer than I anticipated, and the whole process took about 5.5 hours. For the length and quality, I have zero complaints. The braids are neat, the parts are clean, and most importantly, I left without feeling like my scalp was on fire. Tight? A little, but nothing unbearable. Painful? No. I'll definitely be back again. My only issue was with the handling of the braiding hair. At times, the hair would fall to the floor and if it was picked up quickly, I understood. But sometimes it lingered, was stepped on, and still used. I did refuse some hair that had been stepped on, but I don't believe it was thrown out. That's something I'd encourage others to be mindful of. Make sure the hair being installed in your head is being cared for properly. If you're looking for a clean, efficient, no-nonsense braiding experience that gives what it's supposed to give, Flower Atl Braids is your spot.

I was first at the spot at 8am and I was greeted by Sally. She began on my hair maybe 15-20 mins after I walked in Another lady that came in the shop started to assist her maybe 40 mins later. I was there maybe 5 hrs and some change. It may have been sooner that I could've left but they did stop for about 10 mins to snack for a moment (totally understandable) and Sally assisted with some other things for a while. It was not a bad experience at all. They were very nice and professional. Not too much English. The location was easy to find. Inside had multiple work stations. They had music playing also. I love my hair and there is not a hair out of place. Very detailed. It doesn't hurt at all. I did request middle back as I showed her my appointment and the amount when I first arrived but they were a tad bit longer in the end. I do recommend this place. I'll be back.
