After four weeks l decided it was time to take it down.. Absoluteky no breakage of my hair when we took it down last night and I am back the next morning for a protective crochet style.. Prices are reasonable in comparison to other natural stylists in the area. Oh, and there is this one stylist who hooks ups natural hair with her steam treatment and flatirons. Management needs to train them on basic client relations - Don't talk negatively about the clients fiancé to their face. Don't stalk an ex client around the salon. Don't keep smacking the clients forehead as a joke when they're obviously not comfortable. Don't share your deep life traumas after the first 20 minutes of meeting the client. Some of the stylists simply need better professional boundaries. I found most of my experiences there draining and tedious.

To be fair, I made a mistake and thought my appointment was at 9:30 when it was actually at 9:00. When Cheron called me at 9:10 I immediately apologized and even offered twice to reschedule if that was easier. Instead she just asked for my ETA in an irritated tone and said she'd see me soon. From the minute I got there the whole appointment felt tense. I asked for a simple trim, some face framing pieces, and something low maintenance since I don't spend a lot of time styling my hair. It didn't feel like a difficult request but I felt like my preferences were an inconvenience. Even the shampoo was so rough it was uncomfortable instead of relaxing. The haircut itself turned out nice but what really shocked me was the finish. I paid $150 and expected at least a basic styling. Instead, my hair was blow dried with her fingers... no round brush, no comb, no straightener, no curls. Nothing. I genuinely couldn't believe that was the finished result. I'm happy I ended up with a decent haircut but the overall experience felt uncomfortable from start to finish and nowhere near the level of service I expected.
