This location is a joke. Maybe there are some good doctors but based on the way my mother was / is…read moretreated its hard to tell. My mom has two doctors at this location , a general care and a cardiologist. She has been a patient for years. A couple months back my mom thought she had a sinus infection. She called her GP and asked if they could phone in an antibiotic. No can do since they "have to see you". She went in and never saw a doctor but a PA or nurse working the office. Her head did not clear up and a week later she went to urgent care and a person there discovered her right ear was completely plugged / impacted with wax. Seems pretty basic when she went to the Cleveland Clinic and told them she thought she had a sinus infection that someone would look in her ears. She needs to see a real doctor to have it removed. The cardiology department in not any better. My mom was recently in a local hospital and had heart cath. done. She has some blocked arteries. I called her clinic cardiologist to give them a heads up about her admission , testing and results. After that her GP doctor called multiple times the next day wanting her to come in the office for a follow up. She was just treated and released so what is an office visit going to do for her from a GP or PA when her issue is her heart ? I have called her cardiologist another couple times to let them know her Cath results were going to be uploaded to their site and we wanted a surgical opinion what if any options are available. I have never received a single call from anyone following my messaging. Today I called her cardiologist office to inquire if they reviewed her Cath results for any surgical options. When you call you can not call the doctors office directly. It goes to a call center then they decide where it goes. On average if you call its 30 minutes to over an hour wait time. Today someone answered then transferred me to the downtown clinic campus. After waiting 10 minutes a woman answered and I asked for my moms cardiologist. Her reply was " You called the wrong location". No , I called the right number but someone sent my call to the wrong location. Waited a while and a woman picked up from the Lorain location. I asked her if anyone knew if my moms test results were received and reviewed. She put me on hold then came back and said she thought they had them but my mom needed to come in to review them. I explained to her its a waste of time to come in unless someone has actually reviewed the Cath and can answer if there are any surgical options. She basically blew me off and said it would be explained at an office visit. I asked again if she can tell me if its been reviewed as in its a yes or no answer. She said " you are yelling at me and if you raise your voice I will end this call". My reply was I am on speaker phone next to my 92 year old mom so she can hear and I have not come close to yelling at you yet. I asked the question again and she gave me a snippy repeat answer. I ended the call and told my mom that I think they have your test data but no one has or is looking at it. Left her house and on the way home got a call from her cardiologist office. Guy was nice and I told him I have about had it with the two doctors my mom uses and I did not appreciate the snippy call I just had with someone a few minutes ago. He did tell me no one reviewed my moms Cath info but he would "leave the doctor a note". Thanked him and hung up. Got another call from the same office a few minutes after I hung up asking if my mom wanted to come in tomorrow. I asked did some surgeon or review board look at my moms Cath info ? The answer was no so again I asked what good is an office visit when it tells the patient nothing. Ended that call. Pretty sure the Lorain Cleveland Clinic's only goal is keeping a flow of people coming in. If you call them expect a 30 ~60 minute wait time and you will not be speaking to a doctor. When you do go for an office visit you will likely see a nurse or PA. My mom complained before about trying to call in and she was spot on. Lowes & Home Depot answer their phones and its nothing life threatening. Lorain Cleveland Clinic has also consistently screwed up my moms meds by not calling them in or quantity wrong , consistently. My dad had heart surgery when Toby Cosgrove was a surgeon and later CEO. It was a great organization then. Today its all about $$$ and the "Patients first" commercials are / were a bad joke. I would not take my dog to the Lorain Cleveland Clinic. I would give it zero stars if possible.

5 minutes ago New…read moreToday was the worst experience I've ever had in a university hospital facility. I took my two young boys and myself into the urgent care around 9 AM. We had been sick all week, but my work schedule didn't allow us to get into any of the facilities any earlier than this Saturday morning. Upon arrival I filled out the paperwork for the three of us and brought out my bank card to pay all three co-pays at $75 apiece. I swiped, my card and the tall skinny, dark curly haired girl behind the desk with glasses after processing our payments told me that I had A past due balance with university hospitals of $500. She then told me even though I had enough money to pay co-pays currently, that she would not be able to let me be seen unless I made a payment of at least $200 additionally to our co-pays towards this 500. I didn't even know I had a balance. It would not be a problem to pay the entire balance had I had been able to talk to my husband to see which card he thought I should put that on or how we should go about paying it. But it was early in the morning and he was not with me. So I said well if you won't see me, let's go forward with at least seeing my children. The three of us are incredibly sick, so it was important to get them seen before it got severe. In the meantime, I was able to get a hold of my husband as we were in the exam room. My husband called up to the front desk and spoke to this woman that refused my care. He offered to Pay that past due balance so I could be seen this morning. The receptionist then told him he wouldn't be able to do that because it's against HIPAA. So my husband was actually calling up there to help me be seen because I was so sick and I had just got off the phone with him crying saying that they wouldn't see me. Instead of putting my husband on hold and coming back and getting me this woman told my husband she wouldn't even tell him if I was there or not. The level of pettiness was insane. The doctor came in and seen both of my boys. He could see I was crying and he said an how are YOU feeling? I let him know that because of a previous balance I was not allowed to be seen today. He said nothing and walked out of the room. He could see I was sick. It was plainly obvious as I sat there crying. As I was leaving with my boys out of the office after they had gotten their prescriptions written, the girls behind the desk, proceeded to tell me to have a good day as I walked out. Once I got to my car, I realized how absolutely heartbroken I was over the situation. I'm now going back home still incredibly sick with no medication. So I went back in and told them how awful I thought they were. How you don't treat people like this in The medical field? How do you turn a woman away That's standing there trying to pay at least the co-pays with her two young boys that's incredibly ill? And then when the husband calls trying to help the situation, you don't even allow the situation to have help. I didn't threaten them. But I was mad and they knew It. About an hour and a half later after I'd been home I get a call from Avon police department. The skinny dark haired girl with glasses that was standing there, threatening to call the police on me, actually called the police once I was Long gone. They wanted the officer to tell me that I am now trespassed and I will be arrested if I ever come Back there. Well, done, university hospitals! As somebody that works in the medical field I know that tall, skinny, dark curly haired girl with glasses should never be in the Medical field! I was unaware that university hospitals hired cold, mean hearted, nasty people to handle they're sick families! I was unaware that UH promotes MONEY OVER CARE! A voicemail was left for university hospitals patient advocacy as well as a grievance will be filled with the hospital and insurance company. Office visit date 9/6/25 9:30am Stuart/ Green family.
