The amazing views, even from her small, but very comfortable private room, were spectacular, and with gracious covered patios on three sides of the home, she spent a great deal of time out in the fresh air, watching all the birds that flocked to the many bird feeders, enjoying the vast vistas (you can see for 20 miles in every direction), and doing activities on the large outdoor table. Maria and her staff always celebrated birthdays and holidays with lots of fanfare, and my mom received personal attention, like getting her nails painted or makeup done. Visiting her there was always comfortable and inviting. We were very lucky to find such a loving and beautiful place for my mother, once we could no longer care for her ourselves.

Since Loucinda has been MCD the building has improved tremendously. My experience at Vista del Lago has truly been beautiful and inspiring. I first started off as a caregiver but almost immediately was promoted to Med-tech. Being med tech and lead has made me realize my dream is to become a nurse because I love helping others. I applaud Loucinda and Marie because I know that being on the floor is already so difficulty and I can only imagine what goes on behind the scenes. Not only do they both work hard to ensure staff and residents are taken care of but they continually help on the floor when needed. I appreciate Loucinda for allowing me to grow as much as I have and continue to do so. I have learned so many lessons and skills I will carry for years to come in next opportunities. Although some days are very difficult, most days are very rewarding. Working in a setting like this it's almost as if you have 50 grandmas and 50 grandpas and that is truly incredible but challenging at the same time. You can tell all staff in the building truly care for the residents with there whole heart. Working with dementia definitely comes with its difficulties mentally and physically but our directors ensure staff are always cared for. Whether that's leaving their offices open with open ears and arms or buying staff coffee, boba or meals.

I also saw in other facilities, where main areas were over the top boogie and rooms were adequate. Felicita Vida is top notch and Mom's room is gorgeous. I would live here. :-) The staff are professional and well organized. KUDOS goes to Kelly, Kim, Kaitlin! TOP TOP Notch! These pros helped me transition from SNF to Felicita Vida. Everything went smooth. Only time will tell, but I have faith in these people and in Felitica Vida. Mom said "I am going to live here forever". That makes me sad and happy at the same time. The staff genuinely deeply care about the residence go above and beyond to take care of the seniors, get to know them on an individual basis, and have them feel safe. Any place that involves people, and a community, will have some issues at times, it's human nature, however I know that these people really are concerned with making things as right as possible for as many of the residents as they can. My Mother-in-law passed in March, right as the pandemic was starting. In her final week all the staff made sure the family could take care of her and still stay safe. Since then, my Father-in-law hasn't been able to come out and be with us, and we haven't been able to have a proper memorial. However, we feel he is in such a safe place with people who care about his emotions and overall well-being. Most impactful for our whole family, since we live in another state, the Director went above and beyond and offered to pick up my Mother-in-laws urn/ashes from the mortuary and she delivered them to my Father-in-Law. Her kindness and care touched us all beyond words. Thank you to all of the staff at Brookdale San Marcos for your care, and for keeping our family members safe especially in this crazy time!

I used to be an outside healthcare provider there and personally witnessed verbal abuse towards residents by caregiver Rosa while inside the elevator, one of my clients also reported to me that caregiver Dom was taking beverages and food from her personal refrigerator inside her apartment without permission. I also need to point out that they've been operating without a clinical licensed nurse for a few months now, which leads me to believe that the RCC is doing medical assessments which is in violation of Title 22. I would never recommend this community to anyone, and this is one of the worst places I've ever visited.

When it was time to take that next step and her family needed to choose the best option for a memory care facility their search finally ended when they found Silverado Memory Care in Escondido. Now that my dear friend has been living there she is so happy every time we come visit her. We just came to see her last night and she was relaxed while watching a funny movie with other residents. She and some of the others were laughing out loud about this particular movie. Recently one of her daughters attended one of their many fun events when they had an Elvis impersonator. I saw the pictures and could tell they had an amazing time! They were dancing and singing and interacting with "Elvis." Every time we have popped in for a visit and no matter what time of day or night everyone seems happy and well cared for. We have had good experiences with everyone that works there. They have all been kind, warm, friendly and helpful. My dear friend loves living there. She is at a stage of Alzheimer's where she has a need for a lot of wandering and walking and she is free to do so at this facility. She can also go outside in their beautiful yard and enjoy some sun and fresh air. I am grateful we can pop in to see her there anytime and know she is happy and doing so well. I am tearing up wrapping up this review because I am so grateful.
