DO NOT RENT HERE! I cannot stress this enough. Very rude. They have a slew of weird rules for the car. Including an $18 a gallon refueling fee (they changed this to $40 when we tried to return the car) a $150 sand policy, fees for damp seats, and more. Wish we had went with a golf cart. Parking on the island is an absolute nightmare. The jeep was nice but when we tried to return it with a FULL tank they tried to charge us over $40. My husband had just filled it to the brim. The pump literally shut off and they tried to say it wasn't full. Thankfully he had taken a photo when we got in to show. They still had to "talk it over with a manager" If you are a tourist they will try to scam you!! read more

I am giving them 3 stars because we did rent a jeep. We did use it and it was perfect for the terrain in Vieques. But honestly it was pretty beat up. The check engine light was on. They are aware of this. You could tell the the seats where wet in the past as the seats had visible water stains. IDK how they determine who gets what car as there where two nicer newer jeeps in the lot. My guess is they gave us that one because we are spanish. But that is just my guess. And the rental was not cheap by any means. read more

What an amazing experience using Avis. First off, please do yourself a favor and ignore any negative reviews. It's a rental car. You are liable for the car. Avis is not responsible for your life choices. I worked with Kelya for both pick up and drop off. She was outstanding. Holy cow. They operate this Avis like a large scale operation when in reality it's a small scale place. When we arrived, the lot was filled with jeeps. All clean and well maintained. From the Vieques ferry to Avis and back to pick up my significant other was probably 25 minutes flat. There is a driver who picks people up from the ferry and brings them to the store. Simple, easy, and efficient process. Check out was even easier. We were running a little behind the morning of departure and Kelya personally drove myself and another customer to the ferry. To say I was impressed with the level of service is an understatement. Top notch location. We will be renting from Avis when we return. read more

I was very pleased with this rental car process!! We took the ferry from Ceiba to Vieques. Once we arrived on Vieques, I called Avis to let them know we were there and they sent a shuttle to pick us up within 5 minutes. The Jeep was great for off roading and did excellent handling all the potholes that lined the streets but a little tricky to drive on the narrow streets. The return process went just as smoothly as the pickup. Our return ferry to Ceiba was scheduled for 9:30AM and they shuttled a group of us together around 9AM once everyone had returned their rentals. Overall everything went very smoothly :) Would definitely rent here again! The employees were friendly and spoke English quite well. read more

Bad. I have a reservation they keep me waiting in the port. I am calling they told me they are busy, call several times no answer yet.

We reserved our Jeep two months in advance, when we got to the island they were closed the next day when we came they gave our keep away to someone else so we ended up with a busted ANT INFESTED mini van. Literally I was terrified of getting into this van but we had no other choice as it was our only option. My husband and I ended up with bites all over our feet and ankles and ants literally everywhere. Go somewhere else. read more

My reservation was to begin on 9 am. The representative issued the contract on 8:45 am and added a $100 dollar charge for that extra 15 minutes. When I objected, the woman said that they would shift the return time to 8:45 am next day and recalculate the costs, so I pay a daily rate only, so I signed the contract. She lied. They charged me $100 dollars for that 15 minutes because I "CHOSE" to begin my contract earlier. This is the most blatant scam. Do not rent here. read more

If I could give this place a negative review I most definitely would. Not only were they very unprofessional, but they are thieves as well. During my stay I rented a car for the weekend from them. About 5 minutes after I dropped the car off I remembered leaving the phone in the cubby on the dashboard of the jeep, so I called to let them to know to grab it so I could come back and get it. The lady that answered the phone was very rude, and would not even check the car until I begged and pleaded with her, and threatened to call the cops. She finally went to check, or so she says and came back stating it was not there! I know I saw this phone before I got out of the car just forgot to grab it, her and the other employee Luis Gonzales were definitely in it together and stole my phone. I have pictures and videos of my children on there that cannot be replaced. read more

We booked our car through Costco (you get a discount if you are a member plus an extra driver can be added for no additional charge). $134 for 2 days with tax for a Jeep (Jeeps appear to be the preferred method of transportation and the only car that Avis actually offered). We were planning on picking our car up at noon originally, but needed to push back the pickup time a few hours. We tried to call but the phone always went to voicemail. We did leave a message to let them know, never heard back, and when we arrived they mentioned they received the message about our arrival and it was no problem. Would have appreciated a call back, but it ask worked out OK. They're are only 2 gas stations on the island, both are located right next door to Avis (cash only) so it is easy to fill up before you drop off the car. Besides the lack of communication with Avis day of, every thing else was good. read more

The absolute worst car rental agency on the island. Run by a bunch of teenagers, they close early, never pick up the phone, and are an absolute nightmare to deal with. Rent from Maritza's Car Rental instead. They are much more organized and communicate better. I reserved a car about 2 months before my trip. Called the week before and confirmed everything. Landed in Vieques at 3PM, tried calling for an hour from the airport, yet they decided to close early on a Wednesday. Paid for a cab to Avis, got there at 3:40 and was greeted to a locked gate. Took another cab to my hotel. Called the next morning from 9:00am to 10. Gave up, they eventually called back at 10:30. Picked up the Jeep at Noon. Worst car rental agency ever. read more

We landed in Vieques, without a car reservation. They were not available on the Avis website. We spoke did the ladies at the counter who are extremely gracious, and arranged an SUV for us. Both the check-in and check-out were very smooth. read more

I had a wonderful experience here they were so accommodating got us a reservation in the vehicle was awesome... I had friends that went to Maritzas and had nothing but car problems and had to keep returning the vehicle. We took the ferry to Vieques from Fajardo and had reserved the jeep beforehand. They picked us up at the ferry terminal after a phone call to them. Quickly we were on our way with a local map, directions and a few tips for the locations of the nicest beaches. Upon arrival we decided we wanted to stay overnight so first call was to make sure we could keep the jeep. We called Martin Ramos and he said no problem and we were able to extend our trip there.
