The guy working there was a complete jerk from the start and not helpful in anyway. Customer service was nonexistent. He was such an A hole.

I went with a Toyota Corolla, which I drive personally. I like to stick with something I'm used to. It was about $250 for four days. I arrived right on schedule and the car was waiting for me. The gentleman behind the counter was super helpful and friendly. He walked me through everything I needed to know, even the details on tolls and stuff. The car was about two blocks from their office, but they explained how to get to it and even had a print out of a map to help get me there. It also had pictures so there was no way I was going to miss it. The car was a 2021 and in great condition and had a full tank of gas. Another positive of getting a Toyota is the gas mileage. I went to Sonora and back (roughly 275 miles) and I only had to refill once before I dropped it off... which was also super easy. I simply dropped it off where I picked it up and handed the valet the key. I would totally rent from here again if I find myself in the heart of San Francisco and in need of a ride for a few days.

Customer service was super clear and nice, got all the paperwork done when I arrived, and gave clear directions for pick up and drop off. Cars are located at a garage two blocks up from the office, so adjust accordingly if in a rush or carrying a lot of luggage. Drop off is super easy, just leave the keys with the parking attendant and you're done! My only small issue is that as a small local company, you might be in a bit of a bind if you need service or have an accident after hours and far out of the city.

The best car sharing service in San Francisco!…read more After using getaround and zipcar and then switching to upshift I couldn't believe the car sharing service could be so great! The cars are new, clean, awesome with a full tank of gas. On top of it they got delivered to your door which is amazing (no more painful quests to find hidden getaround cars). Upshift team is super friendly and responsive and always strive to help their customers with the requests. There are several full EV options including Tesla and Hyundai Ioniq in their fleet. I highly recommend everyone who uses carsharing to switch to upshift!

The service does its job, but the way they handled the end of my contract ruined the experience, and the app gave me problems the whole time. The good part: when it works, it is convenient. Insurance is included, and for a quick one-day trip it is an easy way to get a car. Things to know before you join. Long trips get expensive because some mileage is included, but on longer trips you go over the limit and pay extra per mile, so it can cost more than a normal rental. The app is not reliable, and more than half the time something did not work when I tried to log the car's condition at pickup, so I had to message support to do it by hand, and sometimes they had to fix my account manually. Guaranteed delivery costs extra. Usually the car is there or brought to you, but not always, and if you want it delivered every time, you pay more. Payments are not transparent either. At first, I got no receipts showing the charges, including extras like tolls, and even now there is no way to see them in the app. The real problem was canceling. I had already stopped using the car because I got my own, and I had paid for that month as usual. In the middle of that month, I contacted them to cancel. That is when they told me about a 30-day notice period, which means they will also charge me for the next month. So I will have paid for two months and used the car in neither. The rule is in the FAQ, but the FAQ is confusing, and the information is not where you would expect it. They could have read the situation and shown some flexibility over an honest misunderstanding, but they chose to enforce the extra charge instead. After that, I tried to sort it out and could not reach anyone. Every call before had been answered, but this time no one answered, and no one called me back. Then I sent a final email with a fair offer: pay this month, close the contract now, and drop the second month. They did not reply. They just ignored me. Bottom line: I was a patient customer for months and never complained about the app problems. But when I tried to leave for a good reason, they are charging me an extra month for a car I had already stopped using, and then they ignored me. In my opinion, this is not a fair or good-faith way to treat a long-term customer. The service can be useful if your needs are simple, but go in knowing the cancellation terms and the extra costs.

I was hesitant to rent from this location (through the enterprise app) because of the VERY low…read morerating here on yelp, but decided to go through with it anyway in lieu of not many other options in our price range. We needed to have an SUV to drive from where we live here in San Francisco down to where I grew up in San Diego, and after booking the rental through the enterprise app, we came to collect the "premium compact suv" which we'd chosen because the price difference from a "standard" to a "premium" was almost negligible. I was very surprised by how incredibly clean and spacious the lobby was, and then the real 5-star interaction began.. We were assisted by Blake, who was incredibly helpful in our specific situation.. which was: I had a LARGE framed photo that was a Christmas gift for my father and needed that to fit within the trunk of whatever car we were going to rent.. Blake pulled out a BMW X2 for us, which was just a sportier version of the normal SUV (slightly more expensive car to buy) and we realized after checking the trunk that the frame likely would not fit in the trunk, so without hesitation, Blake offered the larger BMW X1 without any price change, no hassle, just did some vehicular Tetris in the Sixt lot and viola, we had a vehicle with enough room for our large cargo! I can't say why so many other people had difficult experiences here, but MY experience with this establishment was incredibly positive and very easy. Likely due in large part to Blake, who was beyond helpful and incredibly personable as well. This last part doesn't really pertain to this location but I might as well include it for anyone else doing the same thing: we rented one way, and dropped the car off at the airport in San Diego to fly back. The drop off took less than 2 minutes and couldn't have been easier. No paperwork, no fuss, just handed over the key (with a full tank of gas, of course), unloaded our luggage, signed a screen, and we're on our way to departures. I'd absolutely use this location again, and with some luck, maybe I'd have Blake helping us again! Perhaps it was using Expedia as the intermediary to rent the car, or perhaps it was Blake helping us with our rental, but this experience was 10/10. Hands down. And I'd like to think I'm very objective when reviewing. Downside?: parking at this location is street-only, which was not an issue for us, as we are SF natives and are very used to finding street parking but it might be stressful for our-of-towners? That's the only downside I could think of. The cost of rentals is what it is.. I can't comment on whether it was really expensive or not because the price of your rental depends largely on many factors. Time of year, type of car, insurance, etc etc. it was fine for us, but, everyone has different situations and I reserved the rental a month in advance. Overall: fantastic experience.

Like a lot of the other reviews here, I would never rent from this company again. Billed me for…read moreover $1,000 in estimated damages (not even an actual bill for the repair) for a small scratch at the bottom of the rear passenger door that wasn't from me, though I can't prove it. When I returned the car, there was no one to greet me. "Just leave the keys inside," a guy who was about 50 feet away told me. I didn't take pictures when I dropped it off, unfortunately. From what I continue to read online, this a pattern of theirs. The amount is about what the usual insurance deductible amount to, so most people don't even follow through with their insurance. I would tell anyone who asks that any of the other major rental car companies are better than this one, even if the initial rental cost is a little higher. Never again. In addition to the Sixt response to this review, I would like them to know: I did dispute the damage claim and received no response at all. I've also been trying to pay the remaining balance, but the payment links don't work, and no one in your customer service department has been able to resolve the issue. My insurance paid $97 toward the $1,097 bill they sent, and I'm hoping my credit card coverage will cover the remainder. In the meantime, the follow-up on this claim has been atrocious and has only added to my dissatisfaction. I've wasted far too much time, money, and energy on a claim I believe is unfounded. I'd appreciate having someone take ownership of this, respond to my dispute, and resolve the payment issue.
