If I could give a negative score I would. The worst customer service, the car was a luxury SUV that was not fully cleaned, needed a wheel alignment and the oil level was low. Imagine driving 300 miles away from home in Canada and the oil level warning keeps popping up on the dash. I would never rent from them again. And I suggest people to look somewhere else. Their employees look like they hate life and they are being forced to work. They don't greet you properly and not once did the guy helping me looked up from his screen. This business is engaged in criminal fraud by attempting to up or overcharge at the return. We were accused of having dogs in the car and the charge to clean was $400 when the weekend rental was less than $190. We absolutely never had any dogs or other animals In the vehicle. The lady checking in the vehicle was rude and wanted to argue about these facts. After we left the owner (another lady) called me and did not ask for my side of the story but immediately began to dress me down and yell at me. After I told her I would not use their business again she then threatened to band me. I feel this this behavior is harassing and an attempt to bully me for more money. After looking at the reviews it appears this location tries to routinely add fraudulent charges in similar amounts to others. If you rent a car from this business make sure to take pictures and record conversations with them. read more

This Avis/ Budget combo car rental location in Macomb ( hall rd) is the absolute WORST and not worth your time !!! The employee Pam is downright rude and nasty to your face and has no clue what she's doing. I had a prepaid one day reservation through a third party but accidentally had inputted the wrong drop off location. Pam printed out a contract to my daughter charging us another $420 until I stopped her . Pam started acting nasty not wanting to answer or explain any of the charges to us. She couldn't even tell us the correct deposit amount. I requested her to just cancel our reservation and she instead told us to wait 20 mins so she could tend to other customers. After waiting 45 mins, without disclosing what she was doing Pam printed us a confirmation that we were taking the car ( I found out via an email I instantly received from Avis) and telling us falsely that she hadn't charged us even though the email said our booking had been confirmed and we were being charged $127. I was questioning her if she had really cancelled my reservation why couldn't she give me a cancellation number and she kept giving us conflicting roundabout answers. She even printed 2 different receipts with completely different dollar amounts from each other saying they confirm the cancellation but neither of them had any cancellation numbers on it. At that point I called AVIS corporate and luckily got an excellent representative who provided me a cancellation number and refunded my card . He also told me that the local agency could've done this for us pretty easy and the huge hassle they put us through was unnecessary. I'm hoping my daughter's card wasn't charged as those charges still say pending !! read more

I wish I could give this place a negative 5 stars for my review. Avis needs to fire the clown of an employee (Tommy). He was rude to multiple customers during my visit to include me. Whoever the regional manager is, they need to train their employees in customer service.... They can also thank the clown mentioned above because he has caused your business to lose a customer for LIFE. I showed up early for my rental, there was one guy working the desk and two other people ahead of me in line, no big deal. What I thought was great when he addressed everybody to explain what was going on, and was a king multi-tasker, he was grabbing my info as I walked in, even though I was third in line to make sure he had a reservation for me (which I did). Once he got up to me, I casually mentioned a car in the lot I wouldn't mind having for a short rental period, so he simply handed me the keys and had me check out it to make sure it was to my liking Friendly guy, very customer service oriented and good at communicating, efficient too. Also was wearing a way cool sherpa hat that I was kind of envious of. Will do business with again. read more

I like these guys. Their selection; however, never tends to be the greatest. Whenever I rent an SUV or full-sized car, I always end up with base model vehicles, as it seems that's all that's ever offered. Regardless, this place has a nice location and is full of nice workers. read more

Pam has the worst attitude and does not have any type of comprehension of what standard customer service is. As soon as I walked in there to pick up my vehicle, I overheard her gossiping and laughing loudly with a group of customers about her previous customer. This is poor customer service and such an embarrassment for both her and this business. How are you guys training your employees for this to happen? There was no professionalism whatsoever. Then when she was helping me, she was full of attitude and anger. She aggressively asked me for my paperwork and slams her pen at me. I understand that people can have bad days, but your customers do not deserve whatever you went through. Please save some time and a good day by going to a different Avis nearby bcuz your good day will be ruined if you encounter angry Pam. read more

Warning car renters! Budget rental car has unfair customer costs. Recently I rented a car from them. After a few days my car wouldn't start. I called Budget. They sent someone out to jumpstart my car. That didn't work so they had to tow my car away and get me a new one. I was without a car for about a day and a half. When I turned the car in I received an email informing me that I would be charged $218 for the failed jumpstart. I appealed and they still made me pay it! I was not made aware of the extra charge when I called Budget when the car wouldn't start. Had I known I would have used my AAA! Poor customer relations if you ask me! read more
