Here's how to know if you're getting a good deal from Enterprise Car Rental…read more Assume that you had to transport yourself, your spouse and 4 elderly loved ones from Ohio to Alabama for a family member's funeral in a rental vehicle provided by Enterprise. Now imagine that the car you received from Enterprise was dirty (inside and out) and had only just over a half tank of gas. Imagine two hours into your trip you feel and hear a persistent rumbling coming from the drivetrain. Imagine a warning light coming on repeatedly and even flashing across the console telling you to obtain service. Imagine receiving a text from Enterprise asking if everything is going well with the rental and inviting you to respond to the message only to get a non-response when you do. Imagine contacting Enterprise's 1-800 number and being told that the vehicle should be exchanged. Imagine at least 6 calls over the next 48 hours where Enterprise representatives route you or attempt to route you to 5 different locations across two states, only to receive calls from some of those locations while you're enroute that they have no vehicles or to learn from others that they don't once you get there. Imagine the Birmingham Airport Enterprise location suggesting that even if they had a car they could not swap because your rental was from an out of state Enterprise location. Imagine asking if you could be routed to an airport location that's open 24 hours, only to be told that you could not because it was "too far away," even though it is reasonably along your route. Imagine feeling rushed off the phone by at least 5 Enterprise agents pushing you and your concerns through the clearly prompted scripts on their screen. Imagine the fear and anxiety pouring through the minds of not only you but your passengers as well. Now imagine if you could know these things in advance and could name your price for what you would pay to have this experience. What would you pay? Take whatever that amount is and compare it to whatever Enterprise indicates it will charge you for your rental. That's how you'll know if whatever they are offering you is a good deal. This is not about the good people who work for Enterprise or even a specific location. This is about the organizational inefficiencies that impaired the ability of those individuals and their respective Enterprise locations to resolve a serious safety concern during a time-sensitive trip. Because no family traveling for something as serious as a funeral should have to manage safety concerns and multiple failed vehicle exchanges across two states.

When we realized that they closed at 12, we were gonna be in a real hard spot because we needed that band for an event to that day. A gentleman by the name of Trey entered the door and helped us out in a very big way very professional very respectful very helpful. Thank you so much Trey. Do you do a great job without you? We would've been stuck.

I am absolutely insulted and offended that Dollar Rent A Car at the Dayton International Airport…read morehas accused me of smoking in their car and charged me a fine of $250. I picked up the car at 2pm on May, 13th and returned it at 4am on May, 15th (6am flight). I drove the car a grand total of 94 miles. No one walked out with me to inspect the vehicle when I picked it up. The car did smell, but it didn't smell like smoke to me. No one was there when I returned it on Sunday at 4am (drop box). For what it's worth, I've never smoked a day in my life. For the past 5 years I have been employed by a tobacco free health care system where we test all employees for tobacco use. I have already paid for two independent nicotine tests this week (one inside my organization and one outside for validation) showing ZERO NICOTINE (cotinine) in my system for the past 90-Days. My Staff Attorney is assisting me in preparing an affidavit stating I was the only individual in the vehicle during the time in question along with other legal documents in case we need to pursue arbitration through American Arbitration Association (based on Dollar's contract). I've reviewed the parameters and fees associated with adjudication and I'm sure I'll spend much more than $250 to make this right. Dollar opened a case on May 16th, but they have yet to contact me. There is nothing preventing them from doing this to YOU or anyone else.

I rented my vehicle online pickup was for Saturday I was sent a email with confirmation # and…read morelocation of where to pickup vehicle went to pickup location at exact time I was scheduled to pickup my vehicle. The place was closed. I immediately called the customer service number on email no answer. I finally asked a driver that was taking people to car rental sites at Philadelphia airport he told me to go to Dollar rental car building once there renting car was a breeze until I returned vehicle next day at Dayton airport no one was there so I followed instructions and parked car and put key in lock box called them the next day because I left my carryon bag in trunk plus closed out rental I thought because 3 days later they charged my card $1548 which over-drafted my account and cost me $65 now fighting to get money back. Don't ever rent from them also go by name of Thrifty Car Rental
