I don't know if it was because I am black, a woman, or simply a random citizen but the manager violated store policy by asking personal information that he began writing on a paper form attached to a clipboard. I have been a customer of Enterprise for decades. This man would not rent to me unless I gave contact information of people I know, and where I work. He wanted more information but I engaged in pushing back at that point. I made a formal complaint. I also verified that this was not store policy. Beware. I wrote a review a month ago that detailed my bad experience at the FAIRBORN Enterprise location: they couldn't find the keys to the car I'd reserved; they couldn't problem-solve; they were unprofessional and downright rude. "Customer service" (which is probably just a bot) responded to that review to say I should contact Enterprise. I had already filled out a detailed survey Enterprise sent, but I thought I'd contact them anyway and see what more they wanted. I went to the website, as directed, and got a message that I needed to contact them during regular business hours. Ok, fine. So a few days later I went back to the site and initiated a chat. The representative asked for details of my experience. I asked if I could just send a screenshot of the Yelp review. They said they couldn't accept screen shots, so I began to detail my experience. The customer service rep (probably bot) cut me off after a few messages, ending the chat So I tried again. The next rep/bot asked for my email and said someone would get back to me. That has not happened. I do not expect it ever will. In short, Enterprise sends out surveys but doesn't follow up. They troll sites like Yelp for negative reviews and post seemingly concerned responses seeking more information, which they really do not want. I will reiterate my *positive* experience with one employee, Spencer, at the VANDALIA Enterprise office. He was knowledgeable, professional, and kind. Enterprise would do well to seek out more employees like him. Vandalia, which is about 20 minutes from the Fairborn location, would be a better bet if you need a car in Dayton. read more

I am in need of a rental car. I have a damage to my car and was directed to Enterprise through Allstate. I have been trying to call this location now for 4 days. The staff will not even answer. You put you on hold, keep you on hold until you give up and hang up. As I type this review I again have been on hold for over 42 minutes... I used this time to write a email to their corporate office. I am very frustrated because I had to change my car repair appointment twice already and will have to move it again since they don't answer and I am in need of a rental car. read more

Confirmation Number: 1776649280 Traveling to Muskegon from Dayton (Fairborn branch). I used Enterprise to drive down and had a great experience. Today, I decided to use Enterprise from the Fairborn branch to return to Michigan since it was closer to my family I was visiting. Unfortunately, Mr. Alex Schaeff helped me and began our encounter stating he hated one way rentals and wished "they" would stop doing one way rentals from his location. Next, I showed my retired military ID card and asked for a discount. He said there is no military discount unless it is reserved through a military web site. Finally, I was providing him information and he said he needed a second phone number otherwise I couldn't rent the car. I have never been forced to provide a second number to rent a car in my life and I certainly didn't need one a month ago when I drove down. I was getting upset. Words were exchanged between us and he finished by saying he won't rent me a car while arrogantly tossing my driver's license and credit card on the counter in front of me. This was the worst customer experience I have ever been subjected to; and this was the branch manager acting like this. Enterprise dropped the ball by hiring Mr. Alex Schaeff as any kind of manager. Happy ending though; I made a reservation at Avis and had a terrific experience with them. I won't be using Enterprise ever again because of this man. They also lost the business of my family working at WPAFB. read more

Here I sit stranded. Been on hold for 20 minutes. Enterprise in Fairborn don't show up when they say they will be there to pick you up. Pick-up took a little longer than expected but return was a breeze. The office is pretty low staffed, not sure if it's COVID hitting them a bit hard. Very friendly and helpful, just a little bit overwhelmed with customer to staff ratio read more

We are visiting from out of town and we had a great experience. We did not reserve our car from the airport, but decided to rent it locally in the town we were staying. (We saved $200 doing it this way!) We received a call 1/2 hour after our scheduled pick up time just to be sure we were still coming. We didn't have transportation from our hotel to the rental facility, so Enterprise offered to pick us up. We were picked up right at the time we agreed upon. Sam Rodriguez picked us up in a very nice Dodge Grand Caravan. We signed up for a full size car, but Sam knew we liked the caravan, so he offered that to us. Sam and the man at the counter were very friendly and polite. We were out of there in not time at all. We had a great experience. I would come here again. read more

Scheduled a reservation in January for a wedding in June. Got a call Tuesday to confirm reservation for Thursday. Was told everything was good to go, went over details as far as date/time of pickup and return, vehicle type, price and additional $300 security deposit on top of rental fee. Show up 25 minutes early Thursday to pick up a vehicle and there isn't one available. The lady inside pours out the ole vehicle shortage excuse and says people are extending and not returning vehicles.(HERTZ has been selling a bunch of cars why not borrow some of those). She tells us she has no vehicle for us and probably won't within the next hour that we needed to leave. A little perplexed that 2 days prior they thought everything was a-okay. Do they not look at a schedule the day prior to know what to expect the next day? Like oh I have a guy picking up an SUV at 8am tomorrow and I don't have an SUV, maybe I should make some calls! So instead we're left leaving behind schedule, driving my LEASE that I did NOT want to put that many miles on. Kind of ironic they planned to charge a $300 security deposit in case I didn't hold up my end of the bargain. What happens when they don't hold up their end of the bargain? I find a different company to rent from for my 10 day vacation later this year, that's what. Side Bar: I also want to note that I got a vehicle from them in May while mine was having warranty service done. The vehicle I received had all 4 tires extremely overpressured, were set to 48psi(cold), door placard indicated optimum psi was 33. Side wall of tires said maximum of 44psi. And the vehicle smelled of stale smoke like Aunt Barbs old Caprice. read more

Was sent here via Allstate......Allstate never told us that when our car was hit and run, to not pick up the rental until the car was being repaired. Enterprise also was supposed to inform us of this, and neither did not. So, we had 30 days of rental through our insurance, and we used up 10 days of that not knowing the information previously stated, and our car was over a month out on being repaired. So now that our car is actually being repaired, we ran out of days on the rental, which we tried to have enterprise work with us and was offered a discounted rate, which at the time was less than I expected for enterprise dropping the ball! We asked for an extension for their part in the misinformation and was met with a stern negative on that from the branch manager. So now I ended up paying out of pocket at another rental location. I will not recommend this location, nor will I rent from them again! read more

DOCUMENT EVERYTHING! This is a business taking advantage of innocent people! Mom and I had to rent a car to get home from Florida due to a family emergency! !! The car we ended up with came in the exact same time we were picking up and it was a mess, scratches and dings everywhere but the agent told us to only look for dings larger than 3 inches and scratches larger than 6 inches, nothing looked that big, so on the road we went! No accidents, no close calls and delivered back to Fairborn Ohio! Manager was rude and I believe being a woman knew he could take take advantage and make the company a quick $250!!
