AVOID HERTZ AT ALL COSTS -- Especially the Edsall Road Location!…read more I cannot stress this enough: Do NOT rent from Hertz, and absolutely steer clear of the disaster that is their Edsall Road branch. I made a reservation for a large SUV over a MONTH in advance -- not a walk-in, not a last-minute request -- to accommodate my family and our luggage for a week-long vacation. I chose this location because it's near our home and AAA rates. I now seriously regret both decisions. We received a confirmation email and, like any normal customer, expected that meant our reservation would be honored. Big mistake. On the day of our scheduled pickup -- THIRTY MINUTES BEFORE we were supposed to arrive -- someone from Hertz called to say the SUV we reserved simply wasn't available. Apparently, they had been trying (and failing) to locate a similar vehicle for over a week and a half -- but instead of giving us a heads-up, they left us hanging until the literal last minute. No backup plan. No real apology. Just a smug offer of a much smaller, completely inadequate car and a "sorry, nothing we can do." Even worse? The rep told us this happens all the time and that we should have called the day before to make sure the reservation we made would still be honored. How does that even make sense? That alone should tell you everything you need to know about how this company operates. They're not just unprofessional -- they're completely unreliable and unapologetic about it. I asked to speak with the manager, thinking maybe someone with authority could help fix the mess. Nope -- the manager was conveniently "off for the weekend". Seriously? You run a rental location with weekend pickups and don't have a manager on hand when things go wrong? And it wasn't even our first bad experience. We had rented from this location before, back in April 2025, and got stuck with a filthy, beat-up car and indifferent service. We chalked it up to bad luck and gave them another chance because of the AAA connection. That was a mistake I won't make again. The lack of accountability and basic customer service is infuriating. If they knew a vehicle wasn't going to be available, we should have been told days ago, not while we were practically walking out the door with suitcases in hand. Instead, we were left scrambling -- with zero help from Hertz. Thankfully, Enterprise, which is literally right next door, came through immediatley. Their staff was professional, helpful, and got us into a clean, spacious vehicle on the spot -- at a fair rate, too. If you're even thinking about renting from Hertz on Edsall Road -- DON'T. Save yourself the stress, the frustration, and the complete lack of professionalism. Go to Enterprise next door, where they actually care about customers and deliver on what they promise. Hertz has officially lost my business for good -- and I'll make sure everyone I know hears about it.

The ladies that work with at this location in Annandale are rude and have poor customer service…read more Specifically a lady there named Brianna. I called asking a simple question about the vehicle I rented from them and she wouldn't let me talk or explain the situation. She didn't listen to what I had say or seem to care. The only semi good thing I have to say about this location is that they were able to help me get the rental in the first place (which is their job), but even then they came off as rude to me and family. Enterprise employees try to 'SKIM' $$ off the top by wantonly sending cars to 'no-name' repair shops. It's a scandalous - sub par - scheme! Employees barge through doors, colliding and knocking into folks that just spent money renting an Enterprise vehicle! Renters are YELLED AT! That is totally RUDE, UNETHICAL & SNOBBERY! Both female employees here, pugnaciously and disgustingly unfriendly (they are) blame and confront renters over damage that came on used delivered cars (15 minutes ago - the delivery truck is pulling out) from out of state. I am DISGUSTED by 'elizabeth' I refuse to rent Enterprise. She never provided a receipt. She accused us of having had someone KEY the car!?! We (our whole neighborhood, families, friends) will now go to Avis and Hertz. First my credit card was charged $500 deductible, then after fighting back I was refunded. The car we received had 4 severely damaged hubcaps, shredded tires, hood and door + looked like it had just been in a Jason Statham action movie sequence! On 9/27/25 I went to pick up a vehicle that my husband and I had a prepaid reservation for (Paid…read more$127online).The woman at the counter was on her cell phone talking to a friend on speaker and I had to wait for her to finish her conversation before being helped. This I did not mind at the time, but in retrospect really bothers me since she made an error that cost me over $400. When she finally got to me I told her I was picking up the prepaid rental and gave her my husband's name to look it up with. She then said, "ahh this will have to be under your name since you are the one picking it up". She told me that she would transfer the reservation to my name and that my husband would still be able to drive. Once she drew up the new paperwork I noticed that the total was now $242.12. I asked her why it was so much more when I had prepaid for it, and she said it was due to the deposit that I had to put down and I would be reimbursed that amount after returning the car. I also noticed the the new paperwork that she drew up had Lorton Virginia listed as the return location and not Albany NY where we had specified in the original reservation. When I asked her about that she said it didn't matter because we are allowed to return the vehicle to any budget location. I should have known better but we were on a time crunch so I dismissed my intuition, signed all of the paperwork, and left with the vehicle. The vehicle itself was clean and undamaged. While driving back to Albany I noticed that my credit card was charged for $442.12. This was in addition to the $127 that was already charged. We decided we would make sure and ask about the charges when turning the car back in. When we got to the counter at the Albany location I asked the rep about the charges and what the total would be once I was refunded the deposit. He said he was unsure but noted there would be a one way restocking fee between $100-$500 because we did not return the car to Lorton as noted on the agreement. I explained to him the situation and asked to make sure that I wasn't double booked because my original reservation listed Albany. That is when the rep found that I indeed had been double booked. I asked if he could fix the situation and he said the only ones able to do so would be corporate at the 1800 #. So in the end I was only refunded the original prepayment of $127 by customer care. They told me that because the reservation in my name was already closed, they were unable to do anything with it because they cannot modify it once closed. After this I will not EVER rent from Budget again! I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the Lorton Virginia location in the Comfort Inn. Either the worker is extremely incompetent, or a scam artist. Regardless those are not traits I look for.
