Unfortunately they didn't have a lot of automatic transmission cars to choose from (I can't drive manual). I just needed something small and cheap for the day, but unfortunately had to pay a bit more to secure an automatic. The pick-up went very smooth. The clerk was friendly and it only took a few minutes to process everything. Both the car and the GPS we reserved were ready for us. The car was very clean, with full tank of gas ready to go. Car ran well, no problems at all driving through London or the highway outside the city. When you return, there's an Avis lot a few hundred feet down the road that you can park in, then just walk back up to the office and turn in your keys. I had heard horror stories about Hertz and some of the other big names, so I was pleased at how easy and painless it was to deal with Sixt.

At the airport, the agent said we accordingly have super coverage, which was a huge upcharge up to 2036.36 pounds. As I had travelled extensively in the states for work, I never double checked the rates during the pickup, as I paid what was already quoted. After travelling all night on a plane, we did not bother to look at the small print on the little form that I initialized. Why would we? It should have been as quoted. This is classic bait and switch which I never encountered when travelling in the states. Buyer beware! P.S. Hertz did not give us any correction later due to our initializing the agreement at the airport.

I was deciding whether to return the car to Marble Arch itself, or to my point of ultimate departure, London City Airport, a mere 2.4 miles away. The manager assured me that the fee to be assessed would be a mere ten pounds, and that I should ignore the 166.66 pound fee that was quoted. When I questioned her as to whether that was really true, and shouldn't I trust what was in black and white before me, she actually acted offended and assured me multiple times that she would personally see to it that I was charged only ten pounds. I foolishly took her at her word. Well, as you might imagine, that was all simply a lie. For the grand "privilege" of dropping the car a mere two miles from where it was rented, I was charged an additional 211 dollars. All told, my 38 hour rental was more than 700 dollars. Additionally, the car class I reserved was not available, and they were deceptive as to the up charge for a different car (She offered an "automatic car at no additional charge," but when I said no thanks, I prefer ma manual, she did not clarify that the manual *would* incur an up-charge--it's on me for not checking that, but poor customer service in any event). When I called to ask about the manager's misrepresentations, I was treated rudely and condescendingly by staff. A miserable rip-off of an experience. Avoid at all costs.

We had an 11 o'clock reservation and have been waiting over 90 minutes and still do not yet have our car. When I asked the manager Isaac, we just got stonewalled with no real answer. They said the car reserved for us has a flat tyre and they will drive us somewhere else but we still have not seen anyone to drive us there. This is absolutely unacceptable, we have limited time in England and we are spending close to 2 hours just to get a car. I will make sure to warn everyone I know and online to avoid Europcar like the plague

    BAIT AND SWITCH! Scammed by Europcar. We booked a car online for a good weekend rate, to be picked…read moreup Saturday morning. When we got there, they told us they didn't have the car we had booked, but had only one available at a MUCH higher rate. We took it because we were expected somewhere and didn't have time to make any changes. While we were doing the paperwork, we received a phone call from a Europcar representative to say they didn't have the car we reserved at that location. So why have an online reservation system if it's not connected to inventory? So that you can rip people off by not having the car they have reserved and charge them more. On the positive side, the customer rep at the location tried to be helpful. Not backed up by corporate however.
