    Poor service from an arrogant young man on arrival. I had specifically requested a car that was…read moreapparently unavailable on the day, we had a very different car with a different transmission! Also thr representative was trying to flog for me things I had already paid for upon booking. He was unaware I had already paid in full until I had prove it. But by far the worst is regarding the alloy. I admittedly accidentally scratched one alloy, it is barely visible I kid you not, unless you put your finger over it you wouldn't know. I paid €300 on the day for the alloy repair. (In the UK we pay at most £200 for an alloy repair. Today I have been chased for a bill of €1500 on top! Totalling €1800 in total. Absolutely crazy? Also when we collected the car there was already a scratch on a separate alloy we were not told about. Luckily we found it upon collection and reported it. What would have happened if we missed it? I assume they would now be chasing me for €2600. Nice scam Sixt have going ripping people off to buff out a scratch.

For our own safety we have driven with care and attention. My husband is a very sweet and gentle Spanish. We have travel & driving experiences in many countries including Japan. We live in Japan where is famous for the sensitive driving culture. Swear to God on our mothers' names, we didn't even touch a tree branch, because we went to beach only. And we recognize the scratch from the beginning, the car is full of all kinds of scratches. We were happy and proud that we made a safe trip. However, at return two big guys insisted that a new scratch has been made. They showed us a system screen of a car illustration with 15 numbers, saying that 'the new one' was not registered. When we asked the front No.1 which damage it actually refers to, the guy responded rudely that you should have confirmed when you received the car, and didn't respond to our question directly. If we do not have a picture showing how it was like, then we will have to pay for the damage. As travellers in a place that we do not speak the native language, we concerned about our safety. There was nobody else to discuss with. The amount requested was €475. Actually, we have bought insurance covering all damages, but we need a formal invoice to proceed it. Even though we have requested many times, instead of sending a formal invoice, they sent us their bank account and requested payment only. The whole process is so fishy, such an obvious bluff. I believe they know what they are doing. So bad. With hindsight, the car was rented in Catania and returned in Palermo, there was no visual images showing how exactly the car looked like at the time of rental, only 15 numbers on a car illustrate. However, it took the staff no time to spot out 'a new damage'. Without contacting or confirming with Catania office, they were super certain that the damage is new and is surely by us. We have been driving in big roads, made absolutely no collision with any object. Also, the scratch did not appear new to my eyes.

    Scary place to rent a car!…read more Be prepared to leave it $1050 deposit unless you buy their insurance on the spot plus be prepared to pay for a full gas off tag upfront regardless of whether you you are planning on returning it full. I have to say that everything turned out fine with my rental agreement, the car that I rented had damage on just about every area, so I suppose that the previous renters had to pay out for every little blemish, the car didn't look bad at all but when they gave me the rental agreement, it showed damage on every body part, including the windshield . I looked the car over very carefully because I wanted to make sure that I was not going to be blamed for anything that wasn't marked. They do pick you up from the airport very promptly and they will drop you back off. I returned my car a day early because I was very concerned about not getting a ride back to the airport and I was very concerned, especially that they were not gonna return my deposit as some of the previous reviews said happened to them. Like I said, this company is very very scary, no where did I read before renting this car that I had to leave $1100 deposit on top of my rental. I bought insurance through Expedia thinking that I was covered but this company doesn't care if you have insurance they will charge you to $1100 , unless you buy their insurance for $28 a day. I rent a car from many companies before and never ever was I treated it the way I was at this rental company in Milan. I would never rent a car from this company again.

If that was the only problem I would have rated them 4 stars. Basically, they are a sham. I booked through a rental website and had to put down a deposit and insurance. I showed up and they didn't have the car I rented. they then tried to force me into a smaller car. Couldn't fit everyone in our group with our luggage. They then basically left us out to dry. Had to go back to the airport and rent another car for twice as much. They then refused to refund my deposit because they said I showed up late and they couldnt guarantee my car (which is an outright lie). Although this was maybe 10-20% cheaper than other options when I booked through the website, I ended up paying a lot more in the long run. Don't rent from this garbage company to save a few bucks
