    Line at the place where you are supposed to "skip the line"

    Why is this company in existence to help customers? As a Presidents Club member we are supposed to not have to wait in line. A great compensation for our business loyalty. But this business does not care. The app never works. We are supposed to get our car selected but there is always an error. What a waste. And what a waste of a company. Even when you email customer service you will not receive a response. The executive team clearly hates their customers and enjoys their misery. What an embarrassment of a customer facing company.

    We flew in during a storm & knew we had an issue. The connection flight was delayed, then canceled & we watched it domino down til our next flight option with available seats became 2 days later. So commenced our live reenactment of Planes, Train & Automobiles! We tried the night train, but it was a miss, so, we started the car rental search... I guess we should have started there, as none were available. But Avis pulled through with availability the next morning- so, 1 night of sleep & off we go! We arrived the next morning to pick up & found the process a bit unclear. We were advised to go up as, to our surprise, we were preferred members. There we checked in at a different desk & were told where to get our car. Exit signage was non-existent- so, we did a few laps before we found our way out. At the Exit, there was a scan your QR code, we didn't have one & the gent manning the gate check us out manually- he explained how it SHOULD work & what we should have been told at pick up. This is not our usual vendor but they were the only vendor with cars. Aside from the weirdness of pick up & exit, it was a successful rental. The car was in great condition & drove well. The return was easy.

    Been in line an hour and still haven't gotten to the counter to get the keys to my Reservation. This is unreal.

    The experience I had at the Minneapolis Airport with Avis has been a nightmare. It was easy enough to book my reservation online. That was the extent of the experience that was decent. Upon arrival (Saturday, June 6th - 5:20 PM), no one was working the counter and there was zero signage to let you know where to go. I finally find the office on M level inside the garage. They had very low inventory and I left with a Red For Fusion Car. It was mostly clean. I returned the car by 5:00 am on Sunday, June 7. There was no one to check the car in. There was no directions on where to return the car. I dropped it within 30 feet of the office ( I took pictures). I then proceeded to catch my flight home. On June 9, 2 days later they still have NOT checked in the rental. I call AVIS customer service and I call the airport and leave multiple messages. I email customer service my boarding pass. It is now June 12 and they have charged me an additional $80.00 with zero explanation and have not provided a receipt. I didn't even have the car 24 hours and it was not even driven 10 miles. I only rented it because I did not know how hard it would be to get an UBER with COVID -19. I have been on hold again for 30 + minutes and I am still getting phone calls that my car has not been returned. They still have NOT checked in my car nor released my deposit. This hands down has been the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RENTAL EXPERIENCE.

    We have been waiting in line for over an hour and a half to get our rental car with 2 toddlers. There is only 1 lady working the counter of both Avis and Budget rental car. Although she is friendly, she is working very slowly, first gear. Note to self next time coming to MN: AVOID Avis go to Enterprise or National where there is no line and they have several employees ready to assist you! It took 2 hours to get our car Thank you Avis! NOT

    The busiest airport in the world....and there are no rental cars? What!? Terrible customer service. Only 1 man is working a 4 man counter at the "preferred checkout". There are 11 "preferred" customers in line. SLOW! SLOW! SLOW! One customer said it is "like this all the time." The other poor customers in the regular line -their are 20 of them- are waiting even longer.

    There was a dent in the side of the vehicle when we received it and we had already paid 800 dollars for it.

    The worst customer service ever. One person working. At least 100 people waiting in line. Go somewhere else.

The woman showed me the 10+ cars to choose from (mid size sedan) and let me pick whatever I wanted. She explained that I take it to the exit area, show them my drivers license and that's it. On my way out, me and the guy chit chat, and I mentioned I'm used to driving a truck. He told me I could get a truck if I wanted, and keep the same price!!! I was ecstatic!! He backed the car up behind me and I parked and grabbed the truck. They have so many new vehicles at this place! It was a 2025 4x4 F150. It was the only truck I seen, and it was so nice to drive it around. He gave me a card showing the address I need to do the drop off for, based on my airline I'm flying out on. This made things super easy when doing the return!! This was probably the best experience I've had at a rental car place!

Give the entire staff raises and a week off for having awesome customer service!!!

I made the reservation weeks ago and selected "Manager's Selection" before I knew it would be snowing when I arrived in April. Upon arrival, they insisted on trying to upcharge me $60+ for an AWD vehicle even though their own website and others were suggesting SUV rentals would be less expensive than what I was originally charged. Most rental car companies would insist on upgrading me after selecting "Manager's Selection" when snow was newly on the forecast and AWD vehicles were on hand. The manager proceeded to argue with me by saying that I could book online but I'd have to wait hours for my new reservation to come through their system! She also consistently lied to me saying that the price online was actually more expensive than what I paid. I eventually booked online elsewhere and saved $100 but had to shuttle back to the airport. Will never rent here again.

I picked up my car without having to go to the counter early in the morning in Minneapolis and I just went straight out to the garage. That was a nice touch. I took a video of the outside of the car with my phone, noting any blemishes marks or dings as I didn't want to be charged for them when I brought the car back , I highly recommend using your phone camera to video the car. Then when you return it, you can show them what you took when you were there, renting it. I really appreciate Sean helping me at the gate. He checked my license and my registration number to make sure I have the right kind of car. And he even left the booth to come around to the car to help me connect my Bluetooth with the digital computer system , it wasn't hard. It was just tricky understanding the system in the car. For instance, I would've thought it was connected to the entertainment section, but it was actually through the communication category in the computer system in the car. Upon returning the car, I met up with Tony who was nice and personable asking me questions about my trip instead of just seeing me as another renter. It made me feel at ease that I was in the right place. Driving in was kind of confusing in that garage. It's dark inside the garage and I've never been there before. I showed him my concern since the car was brand new, with the console in the middle between the seats in the front because it seemed like a piece was missing. The car had very low miles, and I'm sure whoever put the car together at the factory forgot the piece. Anyways I showed it to him and he said he would get it taken care of and I wouldn't be charged for it. It was like that when I rented it but I didn't and discover it until I was hundreds of miles away during my trip. I must say I drive a Tacoma pick up in my daily driving, and this car was a lot of fun to drive. It was the smaller version of the larger CX30, and newer and it looked really good on the inside and outside. Classy! The only thing I didn't like about it was it seem like it didn't have a very big gas tank, and I was filling it up often on my trip up to Lake superior to the North Shore and through the town of grand Marais. All in all I was pleased with Alamo, especially the exceptional customer service of Sean at the checkout gate on July 3rd and the very helpful return service with Tony. From Arizona, first time to Minneapolis and renting a car on my own and driving up to Duluth, and then all the way up to grand Maras, on the North Shore of Lake superior, I trusted Alamo and felt like I was in good hands using that car. And that car took very good care of me!
