Close to Redwood Highway…read more This is a convenient place to stay... we were not looking for fancy since we planned on being out most of the 3 days, just needed a place to shower and rest our weary heads. The beds were comfy (we were given two Queen beds) and included basic amenities that we mostly use when staying out of town: free WiFi, a flat screen TV, small fridge, and a mini microwave. This is a non-smoking hotel. Property amenities was supposed to include free breakfast but they discontinued it due to Covid. Instead they gave us 20% vouchers to Denny's for each of the 3 days we were staying. We were able to use one. We arrived after 10:00p and the owner who checked us in was nice and super friendly. She apologized for inconvenience of remodeling work being done on the 4th floor (we stayed on the 3rd floor). The side door which was stairs was not the best in appearance but it was convenient because it took us directly to our room upstairs. Free parking. The hotel is proximity to many restaurants and some attractions including a couple of museums. We went to Costco for gas and it was 1.2 mi from here, 0.9 mi to check out the members only Carson Mansion, and for some delicious food at Brick & Fire Bistro it was only 0.9 mi. aaaannnd Highway 101 cuts through Eureka... we were practically on the Redwood Highway. First thing to cover here is that I'm a Hilton loyalist. Regardless of my experience with any…read moresingle Hilton property, I trust the overall brand because I know what to expect. For that reason, you should interpret any criticism I have as not being an issue at other properties. Ok...that said, my new favorite Hilton brand is Home2. Why? Because it has everything I like in a hotel when I travel. First though...a criticism for this property AND Hilton as a whole for not policing it better. During my last five stays, the remote check-in feature on the app did not let me check in and when I tried to check in that way for this property, I received a pop-up telling me it wasn't allowed and that I needed to check in at the front desk. The two people working the front desk denied that the hotel had it set that way, but I'm seeing a trend where the properties are requiring a hard credit card for check in again and not allowing Apple Pay or other variations where a physical card isn't used. They even went so far as to tell me that it was probably like that because my card on file wasn't good...then they promptly asked if I wanted to use my card on file for the stay...which worked perfectly. The bottom line is that Hilton franchises aren't being policed very well by Hilton for this feature, so don't expect to be allowed to remote check-in. Ok...back to what I liked about the property. The rooms were nice and clean...albeit smaller than Hampton rooms of the same type. Each of the rooms we had (we usually have two rooms when we travel) were equipped with a full refrigerator, a microwave, fully functioning sink and a dishwasher. The cabinets had all the dishes we needed too. The pantry was the best I've seen in a hotel of this type. Period. The pool and hot tub were well taken care of and there was also a barbecue section that looked like it was well used by the guests. The only other criticism I have is around parking. They didn't have enough spaces set aside for Diamond members, so parking can be challenging. There were lots of trade people staying there while we stayed and there could not have been less than 20 work vans and trucks - taking up multiple spaces in some cases. That's why I was bummed they didn't have more reserved parking spaces. All in all, it's a nice property and it will be our go-to place when we visit Eureka in the future. If you're heading that way, I'd check them out.

Customer service poor, most staff are great , hard workers , good hardworking staff - they are not…read more7 months new - they are not dog friendly at all - it's all Concrete ... a ltttle triangle Patch for all Dogs to wee at, sure they have doggy poo bags but there are a couple Of employees who are very dog unfriendly they said so themselves they don't like dogs . You get yelled at , chided at -- just a couple employees stand out , over all yes , clean newish rooms , housekeeping is always in your hall on your floor working very hard . Convenient location... not the best part of town .There a quite a few employees, not in management , that are excellent and wonderful . Clean room, clean linen , good beds , hot tub seriously needs a de- foamer added , it's bad , pool Clean and warm, nice towels, nice gym , has a nice barbecue area with an out door above ground gas firepit - convenient snack area - but watch out the same employee/ manager also put in on my incidental card but I paid cash . I wanted nothing on my incidental card although it was tapped into multiple times - mistake , it was eventually reversed but still. This is my experience and in my opinion .
