I bought a 2 person 1 hour package for my husband's birthday. It was about $100. I'd say it was well worth it for an experience you can't duplicate at home.
Appropriately enough, it's located very close to Pearson airport. They're inside the Delta Hotel and easy enough to find. It's quite modest, just a sitting area in an anteroom attached to the simulation flight deck. The only person you'll interact with is the actual instructor.
The simulator is an Airbus 320. We had Anthony for our instructor. He was very amiable and did a great job explaining our options and how to operate the flight controls. We had enough time for 3 flights. You can choose almost any main airport in the world. We did Toronto, Ottawa, and St. Maarten. You can pick day or night and other conditions like wind, etc. It is a little simplified, but you learn how to operate flaps, thrusters, and of course yoke steering. You don't interact with ACT or have any communications except with your instructor. You do get a good sense of the main operations and skill of operating the plane. It is more of an entertainment experience rather than a fully authentic learning program. Having said that, your instructor will coach you if you need it as you fly.
They validate your parking so that it's not an additional cost. You do have to book your slot well in advance, like at least a month.
I would happily go again. Highly recommended for an experience gift and especially for anyone interested in aviation. read more
