This particular Housing Works is nice and organized and very clean. The employees are all very hard at work. I purchased a stainless steel dinner knife for $1 and was surprised I was asked for tax. It's always been my understanding that a nonprofit doesn't pay taxes. Why would I pay them tax? I'm very appreciative of the work this organization does so I'm not going to take off stars. The prices are high to me and the employees appear unhappy. I don't feel comfortable and welcome even though I'm not bothered by them while browsing. It should be three stars but I'm a softy. I reached out to Customer Service and long story short, they said we are sorry the discount is no longer available. I order often from Wander because their cleanser "Drift Away" has worked flawlessly. I am disappointed that they would not honor the discount when I had correspondence on multiple levels during the discount offer. Walked away, researched, and returned to purchase some beautiful earrings with hand picked, autumn leaves preserved in resin. Then, I go back to the hotel and clean the earring hooks with alcohol before putting them in my ears. The resin becomes cloudy, sticky, and unattractive. I contact the artist, who after asking for photos and an explanation of what happened, says sorry. I can't help you. I'm out $50.00. This is just a heads up. I'll ask, in the future, if they stand behind their products. I understand she's a small business, but if you want to grow, you need to make sure customers are happy so they want to continue to support.
