Around 9:30PM, I was delivering a package to a customer who lived here. As I was trying to enter the gate a black car stopped in front of me, Blocking me from entering. He then proceeded to get out and walk up to my car and ask me what I was doing there and proceeded to tell me that I didn't belong here. I told him I was delivering to a customer. He then asked me for the address but I told him I couldn't give him that information because I didn't know who he was and didn't want to give out the customers address if I didn't know who he was. He then proceeded to say he lived there and was apart of management. But I don't know that. Anybody can say they are management. I did not want to put the customer at risk. I told him that but he didn't believe me.. Shortly after he called the police. Police showed up and VERIFIED THAT I WAS DELIVERING TO A CUSTOMER IN THE COMPLEX!! But he doesn't stop there... I entered the complex and it was dark so I passed up the customers address, I started to back up and he proceeded to stare me down as I was looking for the customers address. He proceeded to tell me "THIS ISNT THE ADDRESS YOU GAVE THE POLICE." He continued to stare me down as I was delivering as well. I am a young 23 year old black woman just trying to make extra money and it was already dark. I felt violated, racially profiled, and creeped out!! ILL NEVER DELIVER THERE AGAIN!!

Location 4/5 * Being in the Prairie Village area is good. You aren't too far from other businesses or the downtown Kansas City area which I enjoyed. You are close to restaurants and stores as well. Apartment 3/5 * My unit was older, which means the HVAC system is outdated. This unfortunately became costly due to it not being able to cool or heat properly. * I had to make several calls to maintenance in regard to the HVAC system. My thermostat would stay on for a long time, but never turn off, which created high expenses. Staff 3/5 * At the beginning of my stay, I felt like they were good and attentive to my issues. However, as time passed, I felt like the staff began to decline in servicing as my emails were not being responded to in a timely manner which I did not appreciate. * Maintenance workers performed their jobs great and I appreciated their communication and hard work. Amenities 3/5 * As stated previously, my unit was older, so it did not have updated appliances. * There was no microwave inside the unit, or a washer and dryer. However, they did have a washer and drying machine on site around different locations in the apartment area which I thought was nice originally, but I noticed they were not very clean and the expenses began to add up very quickly. * The HVAC system did not keep up to expected regular temperature. The temperature outside would be around 65°F and my unit would not reach 75°F. * The stove worked great and heated properly. * The refrigerator seemed to have issues with cooling and food would go bad somewhat quick. * The storage room has great space and you can add several items in there which was nice. * My unit came with a patio that has good space. Other issues: * My upstairs neighbor would smoke cigarettes and it would carry down in to my apartment which gave me headaches. I informed the landlord and it took several emails to finally get the issue resolved. * Around two months before leaving the apartment, there were several dog droppings on the ground and that became very disappointing and frustrating. It became a daily occurrence and nothing was done about it. Overall 3/5. My experience here was decent. I am thankful I was able to stay at this apartment complex. I made it work with what was provided to me, however, there were those negative instances that unfortunately harmed my experience. If you are looking for a good rate on an apartment, I would recommend coming here. It's in a good area and you pay a good price as well for the unit. Thank you again to the landlord for allowing me the opportunity to stay here.

I just completed my move to Overland Park from California a few days ago and wanted to comment…read moreregarding the service and quality I've experienced at Town Center. Having never been to the area, I called 6 apartment complexes and asked a very detailed list of questions regarding pricing, options and availability. I spoke with Lyn, who not only was exceptionally helpful and patient with me on the phone but took the time to write me a detailed e-mail with additional information. I flew out for a weekend before my move to visit places and met with Aly. I was undecided as to what size apartment I was interested in so asked to see 3 different floor plans. Aly was extraordinarily helpful and genuinely happy to show me around the complex. I ended up signing a lease for a 3 bedroom and moved in a couple of days ago. I can't stress enough how extremely professional, courteous and helpful everyone at this complex is. After moving in, Ilija from maintenance installed my TV bracket free of charge and made it clear that if I had any questions or problems in the future that he'd be more than happy to help. I don't generally take the time to write these reviews, but wanted to share my experience with this apartment complex and the group of people working here. Moving will always in of itself be a rather stressful experience, but the talented team of professionals here combined with the great complex made this move far easier for me than I had expected. The surrounding area is amazing: safe, clean, and a whole host of restaurants/stores within a couple of miles. I definitely give this apartment complex and my experience moving here a resounding 5 out of 5 stars and would highly recommend it if you are looking to move to the area.

Extremely serious health and safety warning…read more My apartment at Town Center Apartments in Overland Park is contaminated with toxic mold, and management's handling of it was grossly negligent and potentially unlawful. Their so-called "remediation" was conducted without containment, without clearance testing, and in violation of basic environmental safety standards. Despite repeated written requests for documentation, management and staff refused transparency, stonewalled all communication, and concealed information that residents have a legal right to. I have photo, video, and written evidence of how they operate -- and even a written admission that this is their "standard" process for all properties. This property has compromised resident health, ignored environmental protocols, and shown a complete disregard for liability and tenant safety. Future tenants should consider this a major red flag -- and corporate ownership should be aware that the negligence here has been well-documented and formally preserved. This is not just poor management -- it's a pattern of willful neglect. STAY CLEAR OF THIS APARTMENT COMMUNITY

My roommate and I were needing a reliable complex that offered 6 month leases, and when we found…read morethese apartments, it was a breath of fresh air from our previous rental experiences. The office staff were very kind and helpful from day one to the end of our lease, you could tell they cared more than just about getting you to sign for them. The maintenance team had been so efficient and amazing. Every time we had a maintenance request, they were there in the same day to get it fixed, and fixed well. The units have been recently remodeled, with new kitchen appliances, granite countertops, and huge shower/bathtubs. It really has felt like a comfort to come home every day to such a nice unit. The only thing to keep in mind, and why I've given 4 stars, is there are some fees that definitely weren't expected upon moving that have made things a little more difficult. They require you to pay 21 ish dollars a month for their "valet trash service" that is supposed to run Sunday night through Thursday night. We got emails almost on a weekly basis saying that unfortunately no one was coming to pick up our trash this evening. And on top of that, almost every single month, we got an extra 20$ charge that no one told us about for there being "too much trash this month." My roommate and I both could've walked our trash down to the dumpster for free in the first place, so paying over 40 dollars a month for there being "too much waste" was kind of crazy. On top of that, our lease took place over the winter, and I will attest the insulation is absolutely horrible. Our electricity bills almost killed us for the months of Nov-February. I've never seen that high of bills before for energy. Last small note, we had someone come out to look at our dishwasher because it was not cleaning the dishes, and turns out it was just because the unit was old and didn't really work. They didn't replace it or fix it, just said sorry, and we washed all of our dishes by hand for 6 months. Not the biggest deal to hand wash dishes, but when you're expecting a unit with a dishwasher and paying premium prices for that, it definitely is frustrating when you still have to do it yourself. Overall though, if we weren't to be moving out of town, we could've been happy extending our lease and staying here for a while!

Don't be fooled by the nice apartment they use as a showing it's all a SCAM! Good luck trying to reach someone in the office or corporate. These people are literally unreasonable to work with when it comes to repair work and accommodating their tenants. BEWARE!!! AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAQUE! ** WATCH OUT FOR HIDDEN FEES & EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM STAFF & CORPORATE #AWFUL I'm a new resident who moved here from out of town. This complex was the worst decision I've made. I chose this place due to the location, closet space, and nice tub size. Also, the model was nice. I was given a dirty, broken-down apartment with a loud upstairs neighbor who paces loudly with stomping around at 11pm - 1am nightly, with no office support. The office staff never answers the phone EVER. Attached are pictures of what was discovered when the raggedy utility door came open. The filth explained why my allergies worsen day one. The maintenance Tim was cool. But the old rules are as dated as the complex. Such you're not allowed to use your own new washer & and dryer, but they're are slow moving to repair, their very old, dated and dont work properly one's. I was given a dirty, broken-down apartment. Things weren't discovered until I fully moved in.
