Big wooden tables, comfy couches along with a warm fireplace are all highlights of the restaurant space. Don't be fooled by the upstairs corner of the small strip mall entrance, the place is pretty spacious. The only drawback is the limited parking. Lots of interesting things on the menu (besides coffee and smoothies) such as Belgian waffle bites and avocado toast... and so much more. Only open until early afternoon but they do sell wine for those who want to day-drink!

The stage has a well designed arch and the acoustics in the room are perfect for band performances. I only have one visit under my belt for a bluegrass band night. There were different ticket prices with general admission being the least expensive. I would encourage you to go this route if attending a show. This is a standing ticket. You're seeing a band so you're going to be moving about anyway, right? If you do pay more for a seat/table ticket, just be aware those with general admission tickets will be standing between the stage and your seat. The Thelma is open to wedding receptions & private events. This would be a great venue to be host to that type of celebration and there are many spots within the facility to capture great photos to memorialize your event. One of my friends encouraged me to check out Thelma and I'm glad I took the time to explore this venue. I will definitely be back.

Get here early, like right at 4:30 or expect to wait to be seated and by that point, it's 50/50 whether there will be a seat at the bar. It's that popular, especially with the older crowd that likes to eat early. The food is well priced and I have not been disappointed in any of the fish I have ordered, although I tend to stick with the beer battered cod, which is excellent-always hot and crisp with just the right amount of batter on it. I hate places where the thickness of the batter competes with the thickness of the fish. They also have a very small, limited salad bar that comes with your meal. It's small but I love it. It's like a throwback to another era. I love the crackers and cheese spreads they have on it as well as the applesauce jello. Also make sure to grab an extra plate with some cole slaw as they don't serve cole slaw with the meal. Service is friendly and efficient. My only dig is that you have to go all the way out to the bar to pay, at the end of your meal. Also, make sure to call ahead and make that they are serving. The place really makes their money on their banquets so occasionally they aren't serving fish to the public. We found this out the hard way once and now always call ahead. Many of the local service organizations use the Hall for their annual fundraiser dinners. The KC is a great place to hold these events and I have been impressed by how well, they help these organizations make their night a success.

Dennis, who was working the pro shop, was incredibly helpful and made sure we were outfitted well. It was a breeze to check in and do the rentals. We thought the pricing for the course and rentals was extremely fair! We were also so happy to have some nice and mild weather compared to our summers in Texas. It was a stunning course. On the 9th hole you are able to call ahead to have your food prepared when you finished the hole. I ended up getting a pulled pork sandwich and it was pretty good. However, I would probably try the club sandwich next time. Overall the course has a unique layout, some challenging holes, and is a great course for the value (around $70 during prime time). There was no refreshed breakfast for families that showed up at 8am when Breakfast was open for another hour or more and the food that was out was dry or crisped because of the over heating. Breakfast was a 2/5. 3) The redeeming quality of this hotel was its location. It is tucked away, so there is little traffic noise and it was a clean hotel. 5/5 I would stay here again with the understanding that the staff do better on the breakfast items and reservation requests.

The living room is bigger than we expected. Also crib was placed in room when we checked in. The crib easily fit in the corner so still could use the sofa. The half walls in the living room/bedroom and the bathroom sink/toilet were actually useful as counter space. There is also a decent sized tall dorm fridge (rectangular) which had separate fridge and freezer. The microwave was nice to reheat pizza and also breakfast when food cooled down. Beds were comfortable and had nice variety of firm and soft pillows. The furniture was minimal but very helpful for roller bags and also hooks above small table for your bags. Also, there is square ottoman which doubles up for living room stool. The coffee table also converts to high table for workstation or dining table. The flexibility of lighting was nice feature with softer lights around the edges of bed frame and then the end table brighter lights. Also, blackout curtains were wonderful to make room really dark. Bathroom has nice sized sink and shower tub combo added flexibility for kids and adults. We even used the pool which was rarely used. Breakfast had nice rotation of hot food- biscuits and gravy/sliced ham/bacon/scrambled eggs/omelette/roasted potatoes. Also, there is nice selection of nutragrain bars for snack on the go. The sundry shop was sparsely stocked with snacks and drinks. We got a free drink for following hotel on social media. Also, we managed to get the last pack of hi-chews for on the road snack. Room temperature was nice and cool during hot weather outside. The hotel hallways were warm and not sure why. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly. We requested daily housekeeping and they were prompt in the morning for cleaning. Other hotels we stayed were not as helpful due to staffing issues. Hilton required 4 day stay for cleaning. If less than 4 days, you had to leave your bagged trash outside room and go downstairs to pickup bath towels. We felt holiday inn certainly was much better with housekeeping than Hilton. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations and conveniently off major highway.
