Heather is the girl you want to go to for dainty tats. She created a masterpiece for me and left me with such a great feeling after I left. I felt informed, relaxed, content, and 100% satisfied with my tattoo. It is my 6th. Heather was extremely professional in both appearance, professionalism, and presentation. I like how hygienic she was. Obviously, that should be the first thing that should be taken into consideration. Avenging Art Tattoo took pride in ensuring that hygiene is at the top of their list. Heather was extremely sanitary with the handling of the needles, washing her hands, and glove-wearing. It is a really relaxed atmosphere without any pretentiousness. I felt that was important for the next place I get my tat. Often times, you find yourself in a place and they make it seem like they owe you something when you are there to get a tattoo. I can't do those types of places. I like it where I feel like I can shoot the shit with you and feel comfortable enough to get something done without the artist feeling like they're above you since what you want isn't an elaborate request or a $400 tat. I got mine for $80 minus tip. A great attitude goes a long way with me. Parking is a bit weird. Park in the front of the establishment or on the side. Do not park in the neighboring parking lot since you might get towed. read more

I called in a day before to get an appointment for 4 people and we were able to get in right away! Josh, Dailynn , and Natalie tattooed us and were extremely happy with them! They were all very personable and super nice people who made us feel right at home. I 100% booked here because of the reviews and pictures. I spoke to the owner via text about 4 small tattoos on 3 different people. He said yes he could accommodate the request. Got to the studio and showed again what was wanted and all paid. The owner turned our requests (all 4 tats) to an...apprentice. At this point I can't even help but laugh but what I was left with. I had an appointment with another artist at another shop that stood me up. Tattoos are my self care so I was determined to get it. Only problem was, it wasn't a simple tattoo I wanted. I wanted to start on my back piece. I called Avenging Art, explained my situation, and Josh (the owner) said here's my number. Text me a picture of what you want and your back. I did and he gave me a quote within minutes and said he was ready at that moment. I went to the shop 10 mins later and he was already getting it together. He also finished in good time too. Josh was so professional, friendly, and ready to please. He sat me down to have an honest conversation about the piece and the sessions it would take. No bullshit and the customer service was amazing. I have over 20 tattoos and this is the first shop to offer water/coffee/soda, asked if the music was good, and to give a goodie bag (care instructions, ointment, and a backpack!!). Josh was truly my hero today. Been very stressed out about a brain MRI and when I arrived for my appointment this morning, I was told they could not do it with my dermal piercing. I wish there was zero stars! We came here and had a tattoo artist do a very simple tattoo and they completely messed it up! The lines were shaken and there were unwanted marks on the arrow heads! They had no clew what they were doing and honestly after they tried to fix it was still not good. I'm pretty sure this person was an apprentice and there was no one there to help them or watch. They were shakey and didn't know what to do really. I will definitely be getting this touched up somewhere else very disappointed in this place and because it was $120!! DONT GO HERE! I had an absolutely horrible experience at another shop with a nostril piercing approximately 8 months ago where the piercing never healed and the gem broke off of the jewelry about 6 months later. I contacted the shop and never heard back and of course the hole grew back together immediately. I was hesitant to try again but thought I'd give it one more shot. After researching places on yelp, I chose Avenging Art Tattoo based on their amazing reviews and could not be happier. the cost was about $75 less than where I went originally and although the process of the piercing hurt like hell (as it did the first time at the other place), the healing time was incredibly fast. Great local shop. Had a day random Thursday off work so I decided to check this place out. Walked in and asked if they had any walk-in spots available, immediately was told yes, and was helped right away. Emailed my picture and we were off to the races. Would recommend carrying cash if planning on having work done but that is a minor detail. I had to have a little patience waiting for my tattoo to be drawn up but that is to be expected with a walk-in. Jon was amazing, made multiple print outs of my tattoo and let me look over and choose what I preferred most. Even the artist that wasn't doing my work chatted with me about how he cool he thought my concept was. Jon is an awesome artist and had me in and out in no time at all with a tattoo I love. I was visiting friends in the area and decided I wanted to get a tattoo. Was driving down Nolensville Pike When I noticed Avenging Art and decided to check it out. First off, I had to park behind the building and apparently interrupted a pot-smoking session (I have no issue with what people do on their own time, but I will explain in a moment why this was a problem for me). The back area of the place was dirty, littered with discarded furniture (there was even an old pool table there) and the back door area was covered with really bad graffiti. NOT a very good first impression. I walked to the front and entered the place, and immediately thought that I had entered a comic book store. There were toys and posters everywhere that were comic book-related. I had no issue with that- It seems to be the theme of the place, so I get it. But the place itself looked run-down. Whoever painted was pretty bad at it, and it looked as if the flooring was half-assed put down (I do interior remodeling, so I notice these things). Most of the trim in the waiting area was missing, and the ceiling in one area looked as if it was going to fall in. There were a few folding chairs and some office chairs to sit in, but no couch or anything comfortable for waiting. An older man greeted me and immediately apologized for the appearance of the place, stating that the place was a "work in progress". He seemed really embarrassed, but was nice enough. He showed me a portfolio of his work (which had very clean, well-done tattoos in it). I talked to him for a bit about the tattoo I wanted to get (an Asian dragon on my calf). Mark seemed very confident that he could design the tattoo for me, and asked me to come with him to his booth where he had a computer, stating that he wanted to Google some dragons and see if he could come up some reference to base a design on. His booth was clean enough, but there was wall paneling being used as flooring (I have never seen anything like it EVER in a tattoo shop or anywhere else, for that matter) with a plastic office mat over that. Again I noticed how poor the walls and trim were painted (the walls were gray and it felt a bit like a prison cell in there). The artist Googled some dragons and we talked some more about what I wanted to get, then I asked about pricing (his quote was very fair but not cheap). I got a business card and told him I wanted to check a couple of other shops out. Before I left I asked to use the restroom. Again,, the flooring and paint were horrible (the walls were a hell-ish green and black and it was really dark in there), but it seemed clean. As I was leaving I saw some people come from out of the back of the building. They were the people who had been out back when I had first arrived. They all looked high, and as I left I asked the artist who they were. He said that one of them was the other tattoo artist and another was an apprentice. Mark seemed to be the only one who was not buzzed. I was not pleased with the appearance of the place. It seemed clean (in the front, and in the booth I saw), yet poorly maintained. If there were more concern by the owner (the artist I spoke to said he was a subcontractor so I know the appearance was not on him) to make the place look a bit nicer, I would have considered getting tattooed by the artist I talked to (no way on the other guys), but the atmosphere made me uneasy. With the exception of the artist I talked to, everything about the place made me unsure about getting a tattoo there. I ended up getting my tattoo elsewhere. read more
