I used Avas Flowers to send a plant to relatives in MT to express my sympathy in the loss of a relative. I am in CA and could not be there in person. I ordered a Peace Lily, as I wanted a living plant and a plant that had blooms. I understand the substitution policy, but the plant that was delivered was a nice plant, but not anything I would send to express my sympathy. I don't know the name of the plant, my sister sent me a photo. It's green but that's about it, no blooms to represent new birth and life. After talking & on hold to a rep in Delaware for an hour when I requested a cancellation, I was informed I could not cancel the order or receive a refund. Toward the end of the call I was promised a $30 gift card but when I tried to use it I only had a $12 credit. And getting in touch is difficult to impossible. read more

Over 24 hours after requesting to cancel the order, the item was still delivered, but was much smaller than I had paid for and ordered. I used the chatbot, I sent emails, and never received contact. I had to cancel my arrangement and now am scrambling to order flowers for my mom's birthday. They could not deliver them the first day. They were impossible to contact via chat or phone. They finally called the next day and offered a partial refund and to deliver the flowers that day. They never delivered them that day either. I didn't care about the cost. I just wanted flowers delivered. I finally got a full refund but my surpise of flowers on her vacation never happened. They sent a FALL arrangement, that looked like a $20 arrangement I could buy at the supermarket. I didn't have time on her birthday to call and get the right arrangement sent but called 3 days later and was told because it was more than 48 hours they would only give me a 50% refund. I insisted on at least 75% and they said they had to send my call to the escalation department and instead sent me to the SALES Department who couldn't handle a refund. My cousin ordered a bouquet of flowers and balloons to be delivered to a restaurant on a specific day for her daughter's birthday. My cousin and family were visiting me for the weekend and they live 4 hours away. My cousin said she spent lot of time on the phone with the company to assure they had all of the information they needed to make this surprise happen for her daughter. The company had to change the order because they said they didn't have the flowers that were ordered but made the red roses seem like an upgrade. The flowers/balloons were never delivered as promised. A message was sent that now the delivery would not happen for two more days and at that point, my cousin would not be in town anymore. The company offered $10 off the order, then $15 after more pushing (on a $100 order). They asked if I would accept the flowers on my cousin's behalf. Are you kidding? And then what? We pushed harder and they then offered 50% off. We told them we could call the credit card company and contest the charge. They finally conceded and gave a full refund. They could not cancel the delivered and the flowers just arrived at my house. 12 pathetic roses, no filler, no sponge with water around the bottom of the stems, a vase that was way way too wide for the flowers.... and no balloons. I placed an online order for flowers for my daughter. The website offered a coupon for free delivery. When I got to the section to submit the order, it stated the estimated total is $47.99. When I received the email from Avas Flowers, the total was $81.31. I called Avas Flowers to cancel my order and was told I could not cancel the order. I explained how the hidden service fee was not disclosed prior to me submitting the order. I also explained that it did not ask for my credit card yet and I thought I was in the review page to approve it for the credit card information. Ever (Customer Service Representative) stated it always shows the service fee. I do not appreciate the poor customer service and unwillingness to cancel my order. This is totally unacceptable and unfortunately I see many people have experienced this. This is 10000% a scam. I was assisting in ordering flowers for an elderly resident where i work, the checkout process seemed very easy, and we got through it quickly. I double checked all the information and went to process the payment. AFTER processing the payment, I was given an invoice that had a service fee tacked on that was not previously shown to you. A service fee that was almost 50% the price of the flowers. Once realizing that, i immediately tried to cancel them because $86 for a single bouquet of flowers with no vase, is a bit excessive. The cancelling was not a success because i could not reach anyone from their customer service line, so we decided to wait for the flowers to show up. The flowers did not show up so i called again, but to try to speak to a representative is a massive challenge, i got hung up on about a dozen times before someone FINALLY told me they couldn't cancel the order but they'll deliver it today instead. I wanted to order a sympathy bouquet for a friend of mine. I chose a bouquet and when checking out, saw that there was a $25.00 service fee. That made it more than I wanted to pay, so I called them. I was actually able to talk with someone and she lowered the fee. The bouquet was areound $52.99 on the website but I saw on my credit card statement that I was charged $65.99. My friend sent me a picture of the bouquet set received and it was NOTHING like the one I had ordered. What was delivered was an entirely different bouquet that cost $34.99, and it didn't even have a vase as shown on the website. It was wrapped in paper. I was furious! They are VERRY hard to get a hold of, by email or phone. I did, however, get ahold of someone and she said I would be refunded 50%. Well, I did receive a 50% refund off of the cheaper bouquet, not the more expensive one that I paid for.I have tried to get ahold of them again to complain aabout this but they do not call or email back. they give you a "ticket number" to refer to when they call back, but they siimply do not follow through. I ordered a specific flower arrangement for a friend who just got out of the hospital after having hip replacement surgery and for a Happy Easter. First problem is that the arrangement was 40.00 and the service fee that was added on after I purchased was 25.00! Seemed like a lot for a service fee which didn't include the delivery charge. It was to be delivered the same day I ordered it. Withing 15 minutes of ordering it I received a text saying it could not be delivered until 4 days later. I called to cancel, which I should have done, but the customer service person offered a discount on a few other options, none of which I was able to preview on their website. Against my better judgement I went with one of those options and was given a 6 discount and told it would be delivered the next day. The next day I received a text that it had been delivered that morning. That evening I texted my friend to see if she recieved it....nope! She is laid up recovering from surgery and can't run around her apartment complex looking for it. I sent a message thru their web site saying it could not be found and all they sent me was the ups delivery confirmation. It wasn't until a friend came over 2 days later and could look around that she found it. My friend sent me a picture thanking me but I was so embarrassed. It looked like a 12.00 bouquet you can pick up at the grocery store. By this point it was past the 24 hours where you can request a refund. By the looks of the other reviews, this happens quite often. So disappointing and sad that we can't trust a florist to delivery what we order to people we cherish. Mostly bad experience today. Salesperson friendly, but didn't listen well, put down wrong delivery time, surprised me with a $20 "service" fee at the end of a 1/2 hour phone order, (now I know that fee is for 3rd party ordering in Delaware, not San Diego where the florist is.) They left the orchid at the apartment door 7 hours ahead of the agreed upon time the recipient would be home. When I called back to report the mistake, it took another hour of disconnected calls and hold time and miscommunications to say they can do nothing about it, except to report if it is damaged or stolen. They offered a $15 credit. I said I will not be ordering again. They then offered a $15 refund which will take a week.
