I love Rachel. We vibed and she did a great job on cutting my hair. She even was able to accommodate my glasses and had little glasses sleeves so the dye wouldn't get on them! My hair still looks so good, and she respected how much I wanted to cut. I need another cut probably but I'm so happy with how much my hair has grown and it's thanks to a wonderful stylist knowing how to manage my hair (dry cutting to minimize stretch/cutting too much) and cleaning it up and adjusting layers to fit my hair type and face, can't say good enough things about Rachel. The stylist I went to (Maria) messed up my hair and now I don't know how to fix it. I went in hoping to do a calico hair look. I showed her pictures, and I went in to do a consultation + test strand. I specifically told her the colors I wanted, and how light I wanted the blonde to be. She said my hair pulled amazing and I could definitely get to the blonde I was hoping for. She mapped out how it was going to look, and I said that it was a little too chunky for me and I wanted it to be broken up more. She sent me a picture and asked if this is more what I was looking for. I said yes that is perfect! But she didn't change the mapping for my hair at all and literally just did the same thing as before. My hair has 8 total sections. She put like 4 inch money pieces of "blonde" in the front, (not at ALL what I wanted) and she put the "red" and the brown directly next to each other so it just looks like blonde, dark, blonde in the back. About the blonde, I literally was more blonde before I came. The blonde I received is literally just yellow. Not at all what I wanted. She toned down my blonde pieces, so now if I want to go more blonde I'm literally going to have to bleach it AGAIN. There was so much bleeding going on, and my hair is just splotchy all around. Considering the fact that I was there for 8 hours, (when she told me it would take her 6) and the fact that I paid almost $400, you'd think she would've did a better job. I'm also not even sure if she fully knew what she was doing bc she was also constantly asking the other stylists help/input in front of me. I didn't say anything once it was finished because I was there for 8 hours already and dropped $400 on it so I was hoping I would just warm up to it, but at the end of the day, it's not at all what I asked for and I'm extremely unhappy with it. There's days I don't even like to look at myself in the mirror because I just miss my old hair. Now I have to figure out how I'm gonna fix this mess and waste another $400 doing so. I have thin, dry frizzy hair due to menopause. I was depressed with my frizzy hair for years. Took a chance and went to Avanza. Maria was my stylist. She was very pleasant and suggested that I try a gloss and deep conditioning treatment, since doing a keratin treatment would weigh my thin hair down which is not what I wanted. Can't say how pleased I was after seeing my hair styled and radiant after she was done with the blowout! read more

The vibe here is so warm and welcoming. ou truly feel heard about what you want for your hair, without any judgment. Today was especially meaningful because, after many years, my mom finally got her hair done after damaging her color with box dye, which left her hair orange/copper. Maria is truly a blessing! My mom suffers from high anxiety, and Maria was incredibly patient and made her feel so comfortable throughout the entire process. She is seriously the BEST! I highly recommend her! Took my daughter here for a back to school special, which is an amazing offer by the way. We normally have the owner style us, but experimented with a new stylist and we're so happy with the results. The salon is very clean, inviting, and fully stocked. Even stylists who weren't working with my daughter checked in on us. When we left my daughter was so excited about her hair cut she sent pictures to all her friends. I'm always a little hesitant to have new people work on me or my kids, but was very happy with the style and how patient Maria was with my kid.
