For me E&A has been a great experience. Of course it's not perfect, and not everyone is going to…read morehave the same take, but I had a lot of fun. Let's start with what E&A is - a social club for single people. I phrase it that purposefully. It's not a dating club, it's a social club. When I first considered joining E&A, I was looking to date, yes, but I also wanted to go have more experiences. Before joining, I could count on one hand the number of times in a month I went somewhere new or did something I hadn't before. And that doesn't help you out much when you're looking to date. I am so glad I joined because my experiences with the club lead me into dating. In fact, I met my current partner at one of my first few events. I also made friend connections in the club and did a bunch of things I otherwise never would have. So what about the events? In each city there are around 35 events every month. Most are on weekday evenings and weekends usually have an earlier and later event. (BTW there are like 20+ clubs in major cities around the US + Vancouver BC and you can go to events in other cities when you're there.) They range from skydiving to high tea to bowling to dance parties and everything in between. Sometimes there are even overnight trips, like when we went to the San Juans a few weekends ago. There are also full-on trips - 2 weeks in Greece, 5 days in Yellowstone, New Years in Thailand - they go all over the world. Machu Picchu, Egypt, even Antarctica! Last year we went to Cabo and I caught a 120 lbs Marlin with 6 of my friends from all over the country. During my 2 years in E&A, I've definitely had some thrills. I've gone bungee jumping, taken cooking classes, and kayaked with orcas. I've tried food from a bunch of new cultures. And all along the way, I met some really cool people and made some great friends. There really are all types in E&A, too. Lots of locals and people who are new to the area or new to the country. So if you're like I was, and you're looking for a way to get out there more, for new people to meet, things to do, and places to go (and not have to do it all alone or talk your married friends into talking the time) give it a shot, you won't regret it. I definitely don't!

I've lived in Redmond for 2 decades and I know the eastside really, really well. And still, I had…read moreno idea this yacht club existed before today. And it is quite a lovely venue for a meeting or conference or party. The building itself is reminiscent of a Cape Cod building, complete with periwinkle exterior with white trip. The meeting room is upstairs and it can accommodate at least 100 people (my meeting here recently had approximately 50 people in attendance, and the room was half full, at most). What I particularly liked most was the adjacent, large balcony-patio which overlooks a large pool, the marina here at this yacht club and Lake Washington. On a summer day, the views from this patio are beautiful. I can see this being a great venue for a wedding. There is also a full kitchen available beside the meeting room for food prep and clean up. The ladies' room downstairs was spacious, with a huge adjacent changing room (I presume for people changing to use the pool) and a nearby shower (again, for people using the pool facilities). I assume the mens' room is similarly furnished. There's a ton of parking available here in the lot. Very nice venue on the eastside!

Not too keen about this place, it was beautiful but maybe smaller than I expected it to be, it…read morelooks different in person. It has a barbecue area upstairs which is nice, outdoor pool with a life guard on duty! They also have a picnic area which had a few benches that was okay, I've seen better ones, I think they should update some of their furniture for it to look a little bit more modern. I saw that they have two tennis courts which is awesome and it's also outdoor! Overall I wasn't too impressed with the area, I was hoping for something that looked more dated , the front desk girl was polite but wasn't welcoming, she said what needs to be said when we entered the club. I was so excited to visit this place but I would say that my friend and I were not that impressed! It just looked like a big house with a lawn and some boats in front, I mean nothing special that I would recommend my friends to host parties here.

Love love love this group! I joined in Seattle initially because I didn't know anyone in the city,…read moreand it was a great way to meet people though activities. I also went to Ireland with this group and it was something I would have never done by myself as an introvert. Now I just moved to Austin, and I'm attending activities to re-establish a social group. As a single gal, this is easily one of the best and safest ways to meet new friends via good food while learning about the area!

From my very first interview with Danielle, I felt incredibly welcomed--and the rest is history. ITL has hosted extravagant events, but more importantly, it has introduced me to some of my closest friends. Through this group, I've taken trips, celebrated birthdays and holidays, and even had the honor of officiating my best friend's wedding--someone I met through ITL. One thing I appreciated from the start was ITL's clear distinction that it's not a dating site. That was exactly why I joined--I wasn't looking to date, just to find a solid, supportive group of friends. Since then, we've all been there for each other through the ups and downs of dating, offering advice or a listening ear after a bad date. No matter what, ITL is always there to lift your spirits. ITL delivers on its promise: it's a way for singles to meet and have a great time. They do an excellent job of organizing events within specific age brackets so you're always surrounded by people in your own stage of life. And once a month, everyone comes together for mixers, making it easy to expand your circle. Lastly, Kara (the owner) and Danielle (the Marketing Director) are the heart and soul of ITL. They lead with passion, humor, and an undeniable ability to throw an amazing event. I have never been disappointed, and they always bring incredible energy and unforgettable stories. If you haven't joined ITL yet, you're missing out--so sign up ASAP!

Four stars for the experience at Rusty Putter but definitely five stars for the dinner service…read moreafterward! I came to a small class reunion here on the same day as a Scottish wedding and a high school homecoming dinner. Several of us paid to play mini golf at The Rusty Putter beforehand. You're basically paying for the view as the outdoor terrain didn't exactly feel well maintained and the wind on the vista messes with your shot (we quickly decided that no one was playing to score). It was quite cold and blustery that afternoon, and we managed to finish right at the start of some rain showers. Throughout the game, I couldn't help admiring the high school girls flitting about, clearly freezing in their tiny homecoming dresses and sandals while trying to look cute for pictures. For such a busy crowded venue on a Saturday night though, shoutout to our waiter at Calcutta Grill who attended to our group of about a dozen diners. Food and drink all came out at a reasonable pace, and he cleaned as he went so the table wasn't too crowded with extra dishes. I was a little annoyed that both drinks I tried to order had to be denied at first (they don't make house made cherry cordial for their Cherry Ricky anymore and was missing Midori for the 10 Under Par cocktail) but they ended up finding the Midori after all. I loved the freshness and variety of seasonal vegetables and mushrooms in my pasta, made very filling and umami with a generous Parmesan cream sauce, which also paired wonderfully with the bright fruity cocktail. Plus our group shared the burrata and calamari appetizers which came out delicious and at the perfectly appropriate temperature. They settled our bills individually as well, then helped take a picture of us before we left. For such a busy eventful day, they still took the time to treat us like five star guests. I don't have many reasons to visit a golf club, but I'm glad I came here!

Eating brunch at the Newcastle Golf Club on a clear day overlooking Lake Washington, Bellevue, and Seattle just puts a smile on your face! Also we really love the brunch. The parm truffle fries are great, and for me I love the eggs Benedict. The menu isn't large, but everything on it was great. The server each time we were there has been top notch and really enhanced the experience! This has become a go to spot and can't wait to come back closer to summer! I would imagine it's to die for then! It's a tad on the pricy side but it's well worth it.
