The laser treatment was completely ineffective, and the subsequent Enlighten Depigmentation System triggered a severe full-body rash approximately 2.5 years ago. The rash was so intense that it required rocky and enormous medical helps to calm it down. After that difficult period, I managed my skin issue on my own. Through more than 2.5 years of focused self home care, I successfully cleared approximately 99% of my melasma using a simple daily regimen centered on Vanicream products. The results came entirely from my self home treatment -- NOT from this facility. A. For Professionals: If a client discloses that they have sensitive skin, I strongly recommend implementing a 72-hour patch test followed by a 5-day monitoring period as a standard precautionary step. This is far more effective than relying solely on a liability waiver. B. For Future Customers: Laser treatments or chemical peels might provide temporary surface-level improvement and a short-term glow, but if underlying internal factors (such as toxin accumulation) are not addressed, pigmentation issues like melasma are very likely to return. In my case, the clinical treatments from this facility offered zero benefit and instead caused a severe reaction. C. Key Recommendations from My Experience: a. I read some unfavorable reviews from Google but ultimately decided to take the plunge. I usually avoid med spa type places like this (not my first rodeo, I get botox regularly so it's not like I'm clueless in this space) but they're the only places that offer photo facials in our area. They obviously try to upsell, which is typical. I had a few dark acne spots from a breakout and wanted to get rid of them. The first two sessions were fine. Nothing special. I didn't notice any difference after them but I had already paid for three. The third time I had scheduled for an evening before vacation. They text me a couple days before to move the time up - which meant I would have to sit in traffic to get there but I was flexible for them. Not a big deal. For vacation, I was going to a cool area so I wasn't worried about it but the day of the appt our airline changed our layover through Hawaii for 48 hours. I immediately called and told them I wasn't comfortable getting laser right before being out in the sun. They insisted it was fine and I would have no repercussions. I emphasized my worry and told them I would just forfeit my last session so they would still get payment. They told me that with last minute cancellations they would also charge my credit card on file $50. I reiterated to them that I would just relinquish the last session and they were insistent on the charge. They promised I would be fine. I wore a hat, used sunscreen, etc but being pale and close to the equator, even though I didn't get sunburned, I came back with melasma all across my forehead which I've had a tiny spot for years but it never got bigger. This is now spread all over the upper half of my face. I did a bunch of research which shows that after laser treatment, it can cause that. I'm so disappointed and sad. They just want their money and don't really care about their patients.
