I don't do social media so this is my first and only post on Yelp (at least so far...).
I came to Avalon Suites after experiencing many frustrations and disappointments with a competing company that dominates the greater-Houston office-suite rental market (and does so in other cities as well). Avalon Suites is a stunning example that shows how a smaller, customer-focused company can very effectively offer a much more satisfying office-suite rental experience.
When I arrived to tour Avalon Suites, I met the general manager and her professional staff. After the tour, no one pressured me to sign anything. On the contrary, I left with a copy of the contract so that I could review it on my own time and ask any questions before making any decisions. Avalon's contract is written in plain, no-nonsense English and offers fair, up-front fees for rent and a few a la carte options. No fees, terms, or other aspects of the contract were obfuscated or hidden in any way. So I signed and rented, and it was one of the best business transactions in recent memory because everything went smoothly and I enjoyed each and every visit during my rental period. I was actually sad to go.
Based on my experience as a tenant, Avalon's offices are as clean and beautiful as the photos depict; the doors to each office are secure (and have tamper-proof hardware on them, something I saw nowhere else); the furniture everywhere (in the offices and in the conference rooms) is professional and comfortable; the phone system offers clear audio and has the expected office features (call hold, call conferencing, speaker, etc.); and the kitchenette is on the same floor as the offices and is well-appointed. I also had a parking space, key-card for after-hours access to the building, and a lobby directory listing.
I liked the fact that there is no signage of any kind in the Avalon Suite hallways, kitchen, rest rooms, or offices. So while your clients might notice "Avalon Suites" signage as they enter the building, when you're actually on the floor you don't see marketing materials, posters, signs, etc. It also was quiet--being on the fifth floor seems to shield the offices from most street noise (especially while in the type of interior/windowless office I opted to rent).
Finally, the administrative staff are very professional, and the receptionist was even able to lead my visitors from the reception area to my office on more than one occasion (on other occasions, she called me at my desk to formally announce their arrival, and I walked over to meet them). I held meetings in one of the conference rooms that has a large wall-mounted flat-panel video monitor, projector, and live Ethernet ports (my guests used Avalon's free WiFi service). Sitting in the spacious, quite conference room with free coffee in the kitchenette and restrooms down the hall, my guests were very happy.
Although Houston has other options, I did quite a bit of research before renting at Avalon. And when I need to rent temporary office space again, I would easily choose Avalon over any other option in Houston. read more
