Let me start with a compliment. This florist was super duper nice to work with and the flowers were lovely when placed in vases.
However, the flowers were for my best friend's wedding. She and her now husband are moving for work to a country where they had to get married to go together, so they had 8 days to get eloped. When my best friend called this florist, she said yes she can do a bridal bouquet, a MOH bouquet and 2 boutonnieres with no problem, ready on the day of the wedding (Friday). My friend gave her a description of the colors/types of flowers she wanted. We received a call on Thursday saying the flowers would be ready on Saturday. NO!! We told the florist Friday! She said no problem and she would send us pics when she was done. No pics were ever sent, the groom picked up the bouquets and when we saw them at the venue we were disappointed. They would have been perfect for a mother's day bouquet, but not a wedding bouquet. They looked like the kind of bouquets that go in a vase, not in hands. The stems were sooooo long we had to use a bread knife at the venue to cut off the stems. She was supposed to use a BLUE ribbon to wrap the stems and she used a burlap sack with weird white flowers glued onto the burlap sack. We ripped those off and held the bouquet with a handkerchief the bride's grandma had given her. The star gazers were all closed except 2 of them, so they looked very un-bridal. The florist did not cut off the pistons so the 2 open star gazers got pollen all over my friend's white wedding dress. The greenery was not wedding greenery, it looked like weeds from a garden.
I am fully aware the flower industry is having a crisis right now and flowers are hard to get. This florist should have communicated this. She should have guided my friend towards flowers that were available and she should have produced a bouquet that was for a wedding, not a vase. It is not the bride's job to know what is available and in season. The flowers also were not very fresh and have almost completely died less than a week later. The pins on the boutonnieres also were too thin and flimsy and the flowers kept falling off of the groom and best man. Super frustrating experience. We can laugh about it now 6 days later, but we were not laughing on the day of the wedding.
I do overall recommend this florist. She was friendly and nice. She did lovely arrangements that looked nice in vases after the wedding. However, she did not listen to what my friend wanted nor did she communicate if what she wanted was not available given the current situation with flowers. Perhaps the timeframe was too quick for her, but she should have communicated that. And for the love of God, please cut off the pistons when you use star gazers for a bride. read more
