The next Contractor Jason Pinto of Shore Points Home Remodeling LLC turned out to have 16 counts of Burglary and 13 counts of theft, 1 count of credit card fraud and 4 pending charges of burglary and 4 pending charges of theft as he left me with 20 chips out of my brand new bathtub and an unfinished job after being paid for stages he never finished! They installed vinyl in the wrong bathroom and even inside a shower, removed brand-new subflooring during corrections, installed the wrong threshold, and completed tile showers so poorly they had to be torn out and redone multiple times. We found uneven tile, improper installation methods, and even torn cardboard used as spacers. A third-party shower glass installer also questioned the quality of the work and was unable to install the Glass Shower Doors. The worst part was that Avalon never caught these issues--we had to identify and push for every correction ourselves. Their $1,300 compensation offer didn't come close to covering our losses in time, labor, and business. We documented everything with photos and texts. We inspected the property following the departure of our summer rental people, refunded their deposit and called Rainbow. We went down to see the work before paying the bill submitted by Rainbow. There were 15-20 rather wide melted/burned areas in three bedrooms. When we contacted Rainbow, they tried to tell us the damage was there when they did the cleaning. We had inspected prior to their cleaning and, certainly, had they seen the damaged areas, they would have called or noted it on the bill. We would never recommend this company to anyone.

During my visit, I spoke with a salesman about flooring options and next steps if I wanted to go with one of the tile flooring options. I was told I needed to set-up an appointment with Dave, the contractor for a measurements + an estimate. I am really not a fan of businesses that like to farm out their contracting to outside parties because things never seem to go smoothly when the company isn't involved in the entire process. I received a call from Dave, on Monday 7/25 at 4:12 pm. He asked if he could swing by. I explained that the home we recently purchased is an hour away from where we live currently and I wasn't in the area. I was over an hour away at my other home. I asked Dave if we could set up an appointment for Thursday. Dave said we could. I received a call from Dave on Thursday at 11:58 pm. He told me he had just wrapped up a job and he was available for the rest of the day. I asked if 2 pm was good. He told me 2 pm wouldn't work. At this point, I am thinking I have to be on candid camera because he just told me he was available, but when I mentioned a time, the time didn't work. So, I told Dave I would be available the next day, which was Friday between 2:30-4:00 pm. When did Dave call?? 5:45 pm on Friday. Needless to say, I visited Lomax today to obtain a refund for services not rendered. I don't think Lomax is a bad place to buy flooring from. However, I do believe that they are losing customers and business because of their contractors lack of professionalism

Pat knew this, and knew I couldn't source through him, but was extremely helpful and knowledgeable showing me around the store. He helped educate me on the differences between the options I've already selected, helped order me samples to see the difference in shades, and helped explain that Lomax is the price leader and will match competitors up to 150% with free install over a certain sq footage.... I think that was the right number? He even explained that lots of new construction owners will go with standard included options and hire Lomax to rip out and install superior products cheaper than what the builder would have charged. Really impressed with his level of support, and plan to follow up to put flooring in our unfinished spaces.

I was also disconnected during the call and had to call back. I was surprised by the price because it was much lower than my estimate online. This was great, but I had already decided to schedule at the higher online rate given the quality of reviews. I called back when I didn't receive an email order confirmation. The new rep could not find the order. She told me that the order had been cancelled because the franchise owner could not honor the discounted rate quoted. I asked to speak to a manger she said one would call back. 2 hours later, no call. I was told the manager was out to lunch when I called. The rep said she would route my request for a call to the franchise owner. 3 days later, no call. All I wanted to do was schedule an order.
