Very disappointing , I booked and appointment for my 1st extraction. They canceled the night before. I called reschedule, then gentlemen that answered the phone told me it was because I need a surgical dentist so he booked me in for another date. I had expressed how I need this molar pulled as its causing me such great discomfort. He put me on hold to check then gave me my appointment. I arrived today to once again told by this dentist they can't do it either must book with a surgical dentist I said that who i was supposed to see. So once again. Im out money for 2 days and having to pay a driver to drop me off . Im on Disability and can't afford losing $$ and now im broke and have to sit here for 2hrs for a free ride. I don't have any money to get a ride back another day. The dentist I did see was trying to wiggle and push on the tooth to see how loose it was and now is bothering more than usual. They just said nothing they could do, nor had any interest. I asked what can I do for the pain..she said Advil and told me it will probably be a month to see the surgeon as they are only in 1x month. So I sit and wait in pain. Broke and frustrated they said even then there is no guarantee he could remove it????when it was their clinic that did a root canal on it and now it sits my sinus cavity. read more

I have been seen at Avalon for over 20 yrs. I have always had excellent care from all of the doctors with the exception of one. I no longer see that doctor. Oliver is my primary dentist although over the years I have seen most. when I had any major work done ie implants, they helped me with a plan to pay in instalments. The hygienists are friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable. They are all very caring professionals. I would give them all 5 stars. read more

I just had a horrible experience at this clinic!!! After excellent care and treatment over the past few months from Dr. Shirin and an emergency extraction by Dr. Dagenais this past Friday (Apr 5/13) I was told to come back if I had pain or problems...I managed to last until today, hoping the burning pain, fever and nausea would subside, but each day since Monday has gotten more unbearable. I 'pasted' myself together and walked with my face burning and throbbing, sick to my stomach, eager to see a dentist to help however they could. After waiting until the available dentist, Dr. Koteski, could see me, he decided I had developed 'dry socket' and put some medicine into the open socket, left me with a big wad of gauze. The burning was nearly unbearable...I just cried and tried to breathe until he finally came back and removed the gauze...at which point he felt it necessary and helpful to treat me to a judgemental diatribe and condemnation speech about smoking, which I regret admitting I had done and yes, likely caused this crisis. THEN he put another wad of gauze into the wound which intensified the burning...and I couldn't tolerate the gauze...my mouth is just too damaged and sore right now...it did feel a bit better when he yanked out the gauze. THEN he offered antibiotics (nearly useless to me and already told me he didn't think it was infected) and NSAID prescription (after I told him I am already taking the maximum tolerable daily NSAID dosage and it's not enough help...any stronger dosage will only cause severe gastric upset) I asked for a small prescription for Percacet, the only pain med I have ever used (last prescription for it before this dental crisis was 13 years ago) and was told, with judgemental pursed lips, "NO" "I am NOT giving you a prescription for that" I WAS SHOCKED...are you kidding me? ME????? 58 year old Jen who has suffered with health and pain issues her WHOLE FREAKING LIFE and has turned down more pain drugs (most just make me sick and only offer a little help) than most pharmacies could contain? REALLY??? He looked at me like I am a crack whore or something and said: "Just see how you're acting right now?" I was, and still am, VERY VERY UPSET...my whole body is shaking...hubby is so upset he won't even go over there and give this creep a piece of his mind and he's a total sweet, pipe & slippers, cat rescuing, home-body type that never says BOO to anybody unless they push him beyond tolerance...he's afraid he would totally lose it and only make things worse for any further treatment I get there... Anyone who knows me even slightly, KNOWS my story and how much I LOATHE pharma drugs of any kind and only use them to manage a crisis. This is a crisis. I was refused a prescription for ANY pain meds, even to offer relief for a few days, and made to feel like a drug addict. I left in worse pain, in tears and outraged, insulted and will have NO CHOICE but to suffer like this until tomorrow when my regular dentist is on shift. STOP ADVERTISING YOUR WONDERFUL CARING "TEAM"...one of you is NOT like the others...one of you hurt me VERY badly today and I intend to tell everyone I see about it. I had recommended your clinic to several people and will go out of my way when I'm well enough, to make SURE they don't change dentists hoping for better care. I would not recommend this clinic. I moved to whitby recently and this was the closest clinic. It was a bad experience. The dentist I saw was clearly only looking to make a quick buck. I was pregnant at the time and she told me that I would have to return as soon as I gave birth as she saw a cavity in my mouth. So, without xrays, she determined by scanning my mouth that I had a cavity??? She showed me a brown mark on my tooth....I drink a lot of tea and my previous dentist told me of staining that happens on my teeth. Also, in my 34 years of life I have never,ever had a cavity. So for a dentist to proclaim that I have one is even more suspect. Please avoid this clinic of scammers. read more

I've been going to this clinic for years and saw that their review was so low, I wanted to correct this. I've been going to this clinic for years and I've never had a problem, the support staff is always nice and polite, the dental assistants are polite and always try to make nice conversation, and the dentists have always been quick and nice. I would definitely recommend this clinic! read more
