I lived at these apartment since November of 2017. I attended almost all the events they had and enjoyed my time there until trying to move out, this year in April of 2019. Getting in the apartments was fairly easy. Kaylin the leasing at the time was awesome and always available when you needed her, whether it being over the phone or in person. The maintenance man is even better, by far the best I have seen since I moved out here. They should make him the boss because whenever you have concerns or needs he meets all of them. My 12 month lease agreement was met and I was living month to month on April 2019 I decided I wanted to move into a bigger apartment and was going to put in my 30 day notice. I called the office multiple times that month and knock on both doors of the office. I left voicemails for the leasing agent to get a hold of me, I even tried to request a tour for the apartments so SOMEONE can call me because I was trying to let them know I would like to put in my 30 day notice. Now prior to all of this, when I pay my rent I always go in the office and hand it to Kaylin. They recently put a rent mailbox outside of the door that I never use it because i pay my rent on time and during office hours and I personally don't trust it and would rather know my rent is going into the right hands. Now after reaching out to Avalon Apartment on numerous occasions finally on April 24th I got a text that confirmed my tour for the apartment. My boyfriend called the office and a lady, I think her name is Sonitra answered. She told him we are required to put in a 30day notice and that we are responsible for May's rent as well. She kept repeating it's in your lease, it's in your lease and also stated We were suppose to be paying more for the rent if we were paying month my month. She than said well we have a mailbox you could put the 30day notice in there. She than later said I just started this job the beginning of April but it's in your lease again. I told her I would like to speak to someone higher than her. When I tried to put my 30day notice no one was available at the office till the end of April. All the blinds were closed no one answered the phone. I even asked the maintenance man if the leasing agent was available and he said yes, I went down to the office and no one would answer the door. I tried emailing several proper management Danielle from O'Brien Realty and she pointed me in the direction to speak to Sheridan. I ask Avalon (Sonitra) how long would it take for them to get a hold of me by email she said depending on if there are in a meeting it could take up to 2 days. On May1st Sonitra called my boyfriend and stated that we were suppose to give her the keys and threaten that we are going to be sued for the rent. Mind you the first called she said we are responsible for May's rent and it's May 1-3rd and she is threatening us that they will take us to court because we haven't gave them there keys. Now my $450 deposit will never be return. I took care of the apartment and NEVER had issues with anyone in the Apartment Complex. Today is May 16th 2019 and still haven't heard back from anyone concerning my issue. read more
