I scheduled an appointment, which did not have to be same day, but they mentioned there was openings as early as 11am today (06/08/26). I ended up waiting over 70 minutes to be seen by the doctor. A 30 minute wait I would understand, but an hour and 10 minutes is crazy. Especially on a weekday that I need to be at my job. When the physician, Dr. Catherine McDoniel, entered the room, she acknowledged I was at the window looking out. I politely mentioned I was checking out the views because I've been waiting for a little bit. Instead of acknowledging the concern, she responded in a way that I felt was dismissive and confrontational, asking, "What did you expect? You booked the appointment same day?" and suggested I go to urgent care instead. I remained respectful and simply explained that I had expected to be seen closer to my scheduled appointment time. The interaction continued to feel defensive, and I ultimately left crying without receiving care. I asked the front desk to refund my copay, which they were able to take care of and apologized for what happened. After I left the building, the front desk called me again apologizing for what had happened. The front desk staff were kind and professional, but the physician interaction was upsetting and left me feeling unheard and disrespected. And I left without the medical attention I needed. I believe the multiple apologies I've received over this incident is important to note as it confirms this encounter was problematic. I do not recommend Dr Catherine McDoniel.

I am allergic to several medications, and have numerous adverse reactions. Yet, he decided to prescribe me a new drug, Levaquin. Even though, he knew that the only medication I did not have a reaction to was a Zpack. Levaquin is now known for horrific adverse reactions, and is involved in several class actions. I had a horrific, terrifying reaction to Levaquin. I was transported to the ER. I stopped seeing Brooks regularly and began seeing other doctors. Years later (2021) I went to obtain my records to show a new primary my adverse reaction to this medication. To my surprise, there was no documentation of the adverse reaction, or that I was prescribed this medication at all. I went to see Brooks after the ER visit, that was not in there either. I specifically requested these documents for this adverse reaction. There was another incident in 2018, too. In my desperation for help, I reached out to Brooks (after not seeing him for a very long time). I was getting ready to take the bar (I am a lawyer) and I started having horrific panic attacks. I couldn't step outside my apartment without having a panic attack. I went to Brooks in tears asking if he could help me, and I even asked for a prescription for Xanax to help with the panic attacks. Instead he said he would prescribe me Prozac. He prescribed me either 60mg or 90mg of Prozac (I can't remember which one). When I went to the pharmacy to fill the prescription, the pharmacist asked me how long I was on the medication. I told her this was my first time filling - she told me that my doctor shouldn't have prescribed me this, that he should have started me off at 5mg. She said she'd still fill it. I was desperate and I stupidly trusted the prescription. At that point in time, it was a miracle I was even able to get to a pharmacy without a panic attack. I took the medicine and went off of it within three weeks. It was excruciating. While I think everyone's medical treatment is private, I hope this helps someone and I'm sorry I didn't post sooner. After spending time with my family during the holidays and realizing several were still seeing this doctor/going here, but never heard what I went through, I thought it best to share so people could make informed decisions.

However, in my desperation to have a doctor that was both integrative and open-minded, I've time and time again overlooked the rudeness and disorganization of the people answering the phone - particularly Dina the office manager (who runs the front desk). This woman should be no where near customers or have any contact with the public. Adam at the front desk (an intern) seems to have taken after Dina. I guess rudeness is contagious there, in my opinion. I've overlooked Dina being rude to people calling in asking questions when I was in the waiting room, on multiple occasions. I actually heard her answer the phone, on one occasion with Dr Principe sitting next to her listening, answer the phone to a person with cancer looking to become a patient. She was SO rude to that person. Dr Principe said NOTHING. And talk about privacy concerns! Well just recently, I found myself on the other end of that rudeness. When I tried to escalate the issue past Dina, she told me that I can NEVER talk to the doctor via phone and he will NOT return my phone call. I am an existing patient and they cancelled my appointment the same day as my appointment. Dina left me only 1 message two hours prior to my appointment to cancel it for that day because they got 'too' busy. I got the message on my phone after I parked in their lot to walk into the appointment. I called the next morning to reschedule only to be told they had to call me back. I didn't hear back, so I called today, 2 days later, to ask if I was scheduled for next week. Again, I was told by Adam that they would have to call me back. About 5 hours later I got a voicemail from the nurse (Jacqui) saying that they couldn't refill my meds until they see me and I should call back to talk to the front desk to make an appointment (and around and around we go!). She obviously had no idea that they were the ones who cancelled my appointment on me earlier in the week. When I called back and spoke to Adam at the front desk to tell him there is major confusion, I could sense, yet again, by his tone that he could care less to be working there let alone care about medical run-around they are giving me. Talking to them is like talking to a brick wall. So he responds that he can 'squeeze' me in in about 2 weeks! I said that was unacceptable and did he understand that I am out of medication and they are the ones who have giving me the run-around after having cancelled the appointment on me! It didn't sound like he cared and mid sentence handed the phone to Dina at the front desk. She did not even let me finish my sentence before she hung up on me. I called back to speak to the Doctor and she hung up on me again. I called back to speak to the nurse, Jacquie, and Adam did put me through to her. She ended up being apologetic, and understanding....but too little too late. She also said that she confirmed with Dr Principe that he had not been given the message by his staff (no thanks to Dina and Adam!) that I had had an appointment that week that they had cancelled on me! So much for Adam being able to relay a message properly. And this guy is going to medical school soon? Scary! I just wanted to share my experiences in case anyone was considering this practice. Too disorganized and many unhappy workers there. This has been going on since I have been a patient there and it is totally unacceptable. I highly recommend you look at other practices for your health needs. No one deserves to be treated like this. The even more sad part is, that it is evident to me that Dr Principe knows how Dina treats patients, yet he allows it to continue. In my opinion, that woman needs to be fired.
