My fiancé and I recently bought a second home in a nearby village and decided to start checking out the local restaurants. Restaurant Aux Maison was our first local discovery during our first extended stay in January. We've now been for a total of three times. For all of our visits, we've enjoyed wonderful food, good service and an excellent selection of local wines. This classic French seasonal cuisine. I recommend going with the prix-fix menu because it not only is a great value, it will offer you the best choices of fresh dishes for the season. The staff is efficient and professional. The GM speaks good English and can help guide you through the menu and wine list. The local wine selection is also suburb from Champagne produced close-by to Chablis that just a little further away. Make sure to save room for not only dessert, but also for the amazing cheese cart that is served just before. You can either decide to select your choice of cheeses from an amazing selection on the cart, or ask your server to pick for you. Since your near Chaource, make sure to at least sample this deliciously produced local cheese who's name comes from the village from where it was made. Bon Appétit read more
