Wandering through the side streets of the neighborhood I was staying, I walked first by a window display with handknit children's clothing (cute, and reasonably priced) that caught my eye, then a sweet large-ish dog at the door who also caught my eye, and then a bunch of kids' kits to construct things out of paper -- and then out of the corner of my eye I spotted the yarn lining one wall of this store. I was a bit slow to react, but I realized that these things added up to a shop that would captivate my interests.
The store is small and the selection is modest, but prices are fair and products are wonderful. I ended up picking a novelty yarn from which I will knit toys -- beautiful, soft, and a Spanish brand I'd never seen in the States.
While I browsed the yarn selection and tried to decide on my pick for the visit, my husband entertained himself by petting the proprietress' very sweet dog. I'm pretty sure this was a highlight of what was already a very good day, because he was missing our own pup left at home.
All in all, this place was pretty win-win. I was really happy to have found it, and it's definitely worth popping in if you're in the area. read more
