What a pleasure it was to find Entrées des Fournisseurs. It's the kind of shop that makes me wish I were craftier than I am. They had a wide selection of interesting buttons, and I choose some that gave my daughter's coat a very nice upgrade. The buttons were not cheap as buttons go, but in the context of Paris shopping, the prices did not give me pause. Note that the shop is a bit tricky to find, as you must go into a small courtyard off of the main street to find it.

I got through about 30 rows replete with holes, dropped stitches, extended edges, bulges and unwanted curves, and posted it proudly online. Someone commented "you need to start with bigger needles and yarn." And I looked down and realized that yes, I was working with impossible slim needles and way too fine a yarn for my amateur skills. Soon after I spotted this very cute knit shop while strolling through the 11th. I explained my predicament to the owner and showed her a picture of my tortured work and she steered me right to some larger needles (circular, she insisted) as well as some some soft, chunky, organic wool that was springy and easy to knit that she has in about 20 or so colors. What I really love about the store is that it's stocked with only really great yarns in mostly organic, natural fibers and the owner is clearly very passionate about knitting and is not shy when it comes to giving advice. Each time I've got there have been a few people sitting around a coffee table knitting and chatting.
