Our room was spacious but spartan. The bed was comfy, but the room lacked character. We were very disappointed that the restaurant wasn't open, and although the bar was, it was manned by a pleasant, but clueless lad. He at least was willing to follow my directions, so I got the drink I wanted... Check-in was quick and efficient, the staff efficient and friendly.

Ourroom overlooked the courtyard, which was very quiet. Reception and breakfast rooms are up a flight of stairs. Sadly, the restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday nights over a bank holiday, but the breakfast was ample and tasty with scrambled eggs and bacon. The historic bar was open Sunday night.

The food was so good and beautifully presented. Everything was fresh, unique and delicious and the owners clearly love what they are doing here. We went to a 3 Michelin star restaurant a few days before and I think this place is on par with them! Hope you get a chance to visit this wonderful place!
