My driver windshield wiper blew off during a torrential downpour today and was able to pull off to a safe location and called Autozone, Dave B. (The closing manager) asked a team member John to bring me a wiper and install it. My granddaughter and I were able to get home safely. Thank you Autozone! He actually taught me how to change it and did not make me feel dumb about not knowing what I was doing. My battery finally gave out during snowmageden of 2021. I had to get a jump every time I turned off my car. I called ahead to make sure they had the correct battery so I didn't have to drive around constantly asking for a jump. The woman on the phone was so nice and helpful! She gave me a couple different options and explained the differences. She even put me on hold to double check that she had them in stock because she knew I was driving with a dead battery. When I got to the store, John (I think that was his name) was very helpful. He made me feel very comfortable. I hate going to car stores when they treat you like your dumb because you're a woman. John installed my battery and we had a great conversation about cars and parts. I feel very confident in my purchase. I'm a travel nurse from AZ, and I didn't know anyone in Tacoma. On 1/22/22 screw that held my battery was loose, and I had no tools to fix it. I was afraid that the screw would come off when I drove. Not sure why this location would have any bad reviews. I just went in to buy windshield wipers since I just moved from AZ. Dave (evening manager) was not only super nice (as well as the other employee working whom I did not get his name) but offered to help me install the wipes and teach me how to do it myself. I used to work retail myself and know how challenging can be from the looong hours to dealing with not the nicest customers at time. I came in around 8:00 pm and Being closer to when the shop closed you would think employees would be tired and ready to go home, not Dave! He was genuinely helpful and had the nicest demeanor. Just wanted to leave this review because most people (including myself) only leave reviews when they are negative and not when they receive great service like I did today. Mane I don't know where to start but I'm going to keep it short. AutoZone saved the day/month for me. For the longest time I couldn't figure out why one of my lights wasn't working. Bought a new light and had friends and family with mechanic experience try and troubleshoot it and to no avail nothing worked. I was bummed and ready to take to my car to a actual shop and have them take my money. But Cody and the team at AutoZone checked it out and after about 15 minutes of using manuals, the internet and plane ol experience they got my lights to work and advised me to take back the light I just bought from them inside to save me my money. Worst customer service and sales manager ever! I purchased headlamps online. They were not the correct lamps and the store did not have the correct lamps in stock, so I ask for a credit. The CS worker, immediately wanted to know if I used my debit or credit card, because they had no cash for debit. I told him that it was done online with my credit card, he proceeded to then tell me again about being sure it was credit or debit. I said here is the receipt on my phone (sent to me via email by Autozone) along with the confirmation, it should tell you everything you need to know. Incredibly they had no idea about the online ordering. The manager then became involved and loudly decides to take charge and accuses me of being "threatening" and rude. I said to her " just credit my card please" she only became increasingly angrier and said to me, " I have the number here, you need to calm down (she's yelling by now) or I'm calling the police! I said, please go ahead. I waited while she called the cops ( btw...I'm black) and heard her tell the 911 operator that I was aggressive, amongst other dishonest statements. When the officer showed up, he ask what the problem was, and I said,let her explain. I said nothing for the next two minutes as she became increasingly agitated in telling the cop her side of the story and finally ending with a slew of profanity from her mouth directed at me. The cop and I both walked outside as I explain to him, "did you just see that display from her." that's what she was acting like. Just then a customer who had been in the store during this incident confirmed with the police that the manager was completely out of line. That manager has extreme anger issues. read more

Here are the cons: - the folks who work here are not, let's say, gregarious. They are no-nonsense and appear a little impatient. That's all. Pros: They are, in fact, very helpful if you're willing to provide information they ask for. They will look up the proper part for your car, but you do need to know the make/model/year. My battery was dead (like, really so) and they sold me the new battery, replaced the old one with it, and recycled the old one. No, we didn't laugh like old friends, but I needed a job done and they did it. Can't ask for more than that. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Extremely unprofessional, rude. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was hung up on. When I called back, I was almost instantly placed on hold. When I finally got a hold of the manager, he was just as rude as his employee. i've been a custom of auto zone for years, I continued to stay despite how terrible they have gotten over the years, today was the last straw. I stopped by this Auto Zone last night and was fortunate to have come across Dave, one of the associates in the store. I was having trouble starting my car. After Dave took a peek under the hood, he noted that my battery had corroded and needed to be swapped out. Not only did he clean up the car (the corrosion was everywhere due to a post that had broken on my old battery), but he also changed it to the new one very quickly. He was extremely knowledgeable about changing batteries and was so pleasant to work with. Not only was he knowledgeable about his work, but was just a really decent, great guy. Thank you, Dave. These people are jerks. Also if you work with cars or just know them you should never go there. Autozone in general is the laughing stock of the auto services world but this one is far and away the worst example of a joke company. I am a nice guy but their employees nearly bring me to violence. I was in this store 3/14, a transgender came into the store who had ordered a part and previously spoke to a salesMAN via phone. When she arrived she had many very knowledgeable questions and it was obvious she knew what she was talking about. The salesman was very courteous and respectful during the interaction. Once the customer left I was absolutely appalled at the conversation and comments that were made about this customer by the employees of this store. The woman cashier was obviously extremely ignorant and made the most rude of comments. "I cannot believe how nice he was". Really, the male cashier then went on to comment on how HE looks like a woman in top but still has his junk below. Then went on to discuss that he can cut his "...." off and stuff it inside . It didn't stop there. When I was noticed in the isle by the wiper blades the employees went to the back. I will NEVER use this store again. Thankful there are many other options. I will not be taking his bribe because not only did he embarrass me in front of the other customers that day, but he did it because he was having a bad day. Ok, i don't know what has happened to auto parts stores in the past years but they are just not the same. Don't even enter this place without a part number or the year make model of your car. I doubt any of the people behind the counter have ever even held a wrench in there life. I'm not saying that you have to be an expert mechanic to work at a parts store but some general knowledge would be helpful. The staff is friendly enough as long as you have a part number.
