My friends car was jerking horribly and moving back and forth and we could not figure out the issue. We brought it to this auto zone and walked up to the counter and was greeted kindly. Mike helped us and was so incredibly helpful. There was a man in line in need of a battery help, and he asked what we needed help with since our car was outside needing to be checked as well. He checked the engine light issue and was able to print out what was wrong. On top of selling the correct product to us, providing our discount, and then proceeded to even help us change out the coil, which was the issue. He talked kindly on the phone with my friends dad and never once gave a disrespectful remark. 10/10 wonderful service and what a wonderful kind person he was. Friendly fellows here. The young guys were eager to help me out on the floor, but the register was a nightmare. I waited in line for 20 mins waiting for an older guy to ring out the two people ahead of me. Didn't help that he disappeared in the back room between customers for five minutes. EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE today with Blake. Needed to have battery checked. It failed the test outside so inside I was pricing new ones. Blake asked if I had time for them to fully charge it (takes an hour) to make sure it wasn't salvageable. It was 102 outside today, we are in the middle Covid-19 surges, everyone is sweating, masked and trying to maintain a safe 6 ft apart...so I was hesitant. But he said his manager thought it was a fairly new battery (2019) and should have a warranty on it. They said it would be worth trying. THANK GOODNESS FOR THEIR HONESTY - battery worked like it was brand new! Blake walked me outside, put the battery back in and told me to have a nice day. No charge, nothing! Amazing!!! Today was almost a disaster until we met Jesse. My husband and I drove from Los Angeles and we were headed to Houston when we decided to stop at the outlets in San Marcos. Once we are ready to leave the outlet for whatever reason the car would not move. We called a mechanic we knew and come to find out it was the serpentine belt. After we panicked for almost 5 minutes, we called AutoZone and that's where we met Jesse. This man went above and beyond the call of duty. We paid for the belt over the phone and he even track down a mobile mechanic who picked up the belt from AutoZone and brought it to us at the outlets. Once the mobile mechanic installed the belt, we were back rolling. The mobile mechanic was very reasonable and we really appreciate everything that Jesse did to help us out. Thank God for Jesse, and this man needs a raise. AutoZone hire more people like Jesse!!! read more

I had to struggle to scrape the blue corrosion off my battery with a kit they had me buy but it didn't work. Gave me a jump then I left and had to come back since my car stopped again. They were mad when I came back and wanted them to change my battery. Wasting my time and money. Guy on FaceTime with his girlfriend didn't want me talking to him while he worked on my car since I guess he thought I was flirting? Didn't want to help me at first because they were busy trying to pre close when they had 3 hours left until closing. Remind me to always go to the Autozones in Austin! I figured since it was closer to my work why not, bad idea! First off I'm a girl going into an auto place, I already don't know what to really look for so I depend on these gentlemen working here to help me out. The guy at the first desk asked what I needed and said oh it's over there. Where the gentlemen in every location that I have gone to in Austin ALWAYS ask which one I would like (depending on price) and then go get it for me. After I pay for it (which I just paid $60 for headlights) I'm expecting them to ask me if I need help putting them in. As alllllll the locations in Austin ALWAYS DO! All he said was welp have a nice day and turned around. Mind you it is not difficult or rocket science putting these in, but it's the effort that he did not want to put in. I went to get my battery changed and they tried over charge me probably because I don't know jack crap about cars. Hardly helpful. They also wanted to charge me for maintenance. So I looked around and to my surprise the Wal-Mart down the street was incredibly helpful with literally less than half the price of here and didn't charge me for maintenance. They even explained the different battery types and prices of each to me unlike here. Incredibly pissed about how much they tried to over charge me. read more

Tonight my battery gave in on me. I drive a Solstice and the battery is a NIGHTMARE to get to, I have to remove part of my side fender & frame. After crying in my car trying to figure out what to do, Jason came along to help. After his shift he stayed to help me remove the parts and get my battery out, not to mention he was on his way to his second job. I had to buy a new battery and it took a while to get everything put back. Two other guys stayed after they had closed to help us out. Above and beyond what was expected. The more I learn about taking care of my own vehicle, the more I learn just how many people in the automotive industry are out there trying to rip you off. For example, I've been changing my own oil since my less than awesome experience with the Jiffy Lube here in town, and it's been going great. I've been saving a ton of time and money. However, this most recent oil change, the oil plug on my vehicle got stuck, and no amount of WD40 or pulled muscles by the BF and myself could get it out. I called Autozone to see if they had a torque wrench for a 3/8" socket set, and they only had one for the 1/2". I asked if they had an adapter for it, and they said they did. I asked how much that would be altogether, and it was $37 frickin' dollars. At the same time I was on the phone with them, I was surfing the Autozone website and found a 1/2" torque wrench with a 3/8" adapter in a set for $10.99. With shipping it would cost me 18 bucks. I asked the guy on the phone if they had that set, and he said he'd never heard of such a thing. When I asked if they had anything cheaper that could help me get a stuck oil plug loose, he muttered unintelligibly, leading me to believe he had no idea what the hell I was talking about. I don't think it's too much to ask for people working at an automotive store to be able to offer basic car care advice. Either he was ill-informed or looking to make a quick buck off a chick. Whatever the case, the lackluster customer service and lack of stock knowledge was unimpressive. If I wanted to talk to uninformed peon workers, I'd have called Walmart. read more

My Corolla started showing me I had an electrical error on my dash board so I went here to check it. The manager at the time had to teach a new employee how to use the device to check my system and when he was finished he told me I had a bad battery. I replace the battery and my car still shows the error. The manager checks my car this time and tells me it's my volt regulator and offers to sell me the part to which I differ after clearly wasting my time getting a new battery because of him and his employee. I go to my dealership and they say it's the alternator that's the problem. So after today I'm never going to this autozone for my vehicle as they just wanted to charge me for stuff I don't need and wasted my time read more
