Mostly I like the staff here (and at most AAP stores in genereal) as they are always friendly and willing to help you find what you need. Being a girl in an auto part store, it means a lot to have people treat me like anyone else walking in - unlike at some AutoZone stores where I get almost no service. I find this location to be busier than most so there can be a wait if you need assistance, but the staff is always courteous and patient. Lots of times they will be helping customers in the parking lot with their cars (changing batteries, wipers, headlight bulbs) They tend to have your regular maintenance parts on hand - brakes, rotors, and luckily calipers which happened to be reconditioned OEM parts for half the price the dealership could offer. The only downside I've run into - which seems typical for more of these stores is that they may only have one side (passabger or driver) of a part (ie brake line) which sends you on a trek across town to get the matching part at another location if you don't want to wait a few days. If you can plan ahead, it works, but it seems like until you have the car apart you don't always know if something needs to be replaced and you want the fix then - not a few days later.

I made a first visit to Tim's Trim to have some modifications made to the running boards of my Yukon Denali. The job seemed simple enough, but required special equipment. The folks at Tim's gave me a quote that was a couple hundred dollars less than I expected. They provided an appointment time. And upon arrival, they were ready to go. The paperwork and logistics were already taken care of. I left my vehicle with the understanding that things would be complete by noon. I received a call at 11:00 or so stating that the vehicle was ready to go. I arrived shortly after 1:00 and the vehicle looked great. After I went in to pay, the service rep told me that they had done the job quicker than expected and that I would save about $80 on the quoted labor costs. These guys actually reduced the bill. Unbelievable! A couple weeks followed and I received a nice hand written card thanking me for doing business with Tims Trim. Now this is first class and a highly recommended trim shop.

I started up my car and oil started spaying all over my driveway from the oil filter. In all it was approximately about a quart of NEW oil I lost. I went into the store to try and remedy the situation They thought it could have been a defective filter. I'm not so sure it was but that is here nor there. what it came down to was that they sold me an oil filter that did not work properly. They told me they could give me a new one of the same make and brand. I was not comfortable with this as I felt the filter was not sealing properly to the car. So I asked for another filter that was slightly more expensive at no charge because of inconvenience to myself. I also asked them for one quart of oil to replace the one I lost on my driveway. I wasn't asking for something for free but just to be made whole for my purchase. They told me that they would not give me the oil that was lost because of the filter THEY recommended and that if I wanted the other filter that I would have to pay the difference. Not only that but I had to go to Home Depot to buy some Zep oil cleanup at another loss to me. The real kicker here is that the sign in the door says "We strive for 100% customer satisfaction". Again I wasn't looking for free stuff I just wanted them to take responsibility for their mistake. Instead they made excuses and put the problem back on me the customer. They could have kept a customer if they just took a small hit for THEIR mistake. Too bad. I will drive a bit further for my Car parts from now on. Work on your customer service Oreilly.

Living right down the street from B and B I decided to stop and ask them for a bit of help, advice versus going all the way out to Van Bortel. I went in and asked the attendant for a bit of help and he immediately got some lubricant and came out. We managed to get the tailgate open but there was still a problem. I asked him if I owed him anything he said no! I was impressed. This was old fashion service. B and B automotive has been around a long time, they know the car business.I would highly recommend them. Another time my check engine light came on right before a road trip. They took me in as a walk in and made sure the car was safe for the road trip and sent me on my way. No charge. Another time I went in for advice and as I drove away he waved me down, said he smelled something different and had me pop the hood to check for a leak. He didn't see anything, but I'm grateful that he took the time. I've brought my vehicle there a handful of times and always great service and I never feel like I'm being overcharged.

He told me to never come back and he would never donate to the VFW ever again. I was beyond shocked and moved to tears; the company owner called him to discuss his behavior and got the same treatment from the owner and then got hung up on. I don't know why he hates the VFW, or why he said he would donate to them and then try to renege or why he thought it was acceptable to treat someone so viciously. I'm a grieving mother and I've been through hell. I can't imagine what would happen if he ever had a real problem in life or how he would cope. I will never forget this experience and I wouldn't recommend his company to anyone. If he can't keep his word to the veterans of our country and then swears at a woman who's doing her job why would anyone want to give him a dime? He's an unstable monster who needs a psych evaluation. Karma will be coming for this guy.

This is not my first visit here, and it won't be my last. Frankly, the neighborhood doesn't bother me.
