Very happy with the service at Autozone in Petaluma. I needed the battery in my Honda Civic replaced. I first went to another auto parts store (which I won't name) a short distance from Autozone. They told me they could not do the work to replace the battery. I drove the short distance to Autozone and was helped by Roland. He showed me the options and helped me choose a new battery. let me just say as a young girl with very little car knowledge and have been scammed by many car places in my past. this place and specifically Jose is the BEST car part store to go through. I went to o'reillys first and walked into four guys huddled in a group laughing amongst themselves then finally acknowledged me and I asked where the headlight fuses were and they told me they were out of stock and went baclass to their conversation. Fnny enough I walked right by them on my way out but I didn't bother turning around and purchasing it. I went to autozone and Jose helped me right away and even installed them for me. then we needed another part and he installed that as well and replaced my lightbulb in the pouring rain too!! I was looking at the lug nuts in the back. She went to the back to check on me and said, "I could have sworn I saw you come in but did not hear you leave." This store participates in predatory towing. We accidentally parked in their parking lot thinking it was the parking lot of the Block. There were no signs on the gate in front of where we parked. They have a tow truck company lined up to tow cars at 9 PM which is when the store closes, an employee told me they come every day at 9 to tow cars. Our Uber driver even told us she's picked people up here more than once when their cars were towed at night. It's $600 to get your car back. This is a huge empty parking lot in front of a closed store, not interfering with their business. I would never shop somewhere with such an unethical practice. The manager should be ashamed. There is a Napa Auto Parts on 4th street that might be a better choice. read more

Troy totally ROCKS!! He's got a positive attitude and is really focused on taking care of the customer. He ordered a new car battery for my hybrid Ford Fusion when I called on the phone yesterday. Installation would be included, so I decided to make the drive here today! When I arrived to purchase the battery and get it installed, I was told that it's a difficult install and they could not do it. Their computer erroneously states that my battery is located in the trunk, which it is not (the Hybrid battery is, but not this battery). The gentleman wanted to take a look at it, and upon seeing that the battery is in fact under the hood, he said he'd give it a try. It was a very tight space to work in. I was pleased he'd try to remove it. Unfortunately, he was unable to get the old battery out. Everyone in the store was wonderful, and the other employee was very pleasant and kind, but despite his sincere effort, he just could not remove the old battery. We discussed me paying a local mechanic to do the install instead, which I was not too keen on. Troy, however, was interested and watching from the sidelines while he helped other customers, and it was quickly apparent that he wanted to give it a shot! That's when he told me he'd spoken with me on the phone yesterday, and he knew I'd driven quite a distance to get here. He was willing to go above and beyond to make sure I left happy and completely satisfied. Yayyyyy!!! Let's do this!! Hybrids are not the easiest cars to work on. Despite this fact, Troy - with a quiet confidence and humility - was determined to make it happen for me. It clearly was not easy, but Troy confidently persisted and was able to get my old battery out, and the new battery in. I'm so pleased and impressed!!! At the end of the day, while it truly was not easy, Troy was determined, and he did make it happen! What a great experience for us both!!!! I came in to find replacement windshield wiper blades on my relatively new Subaru forester, first clerk told me what to get and the size. I bought them. Upon trying to instal them I found after inquiring within that the suggested wiper blades did not actually fit my ride. Red flag. They then had me return my product then suggested as "damaged goods" even though I never installed them. Then suggested the proper wiper blades. Seems like people there need to be trained better. I'm still waiting on my refund from the first wiper blade purchase. Like wtf?!? read more

Cool predatory partnership with ace towing. For the people new to the game, did you know that a business can hire a towing company for "revenue generating". So I'm assuming autozone has an agreement with ace's tow yard for the sweet $550 tow fee for basically stealing your car for no reason. Autozone... is it really such a problem that people are using your parking lot when you are closed. Is it really necessary to have your waste of space parking lot just. There. Amazing service when I stopped by yesterday. I was getting my oil changed earlier that day at a local Firestone and was told my battery needed some replacing I was shocked because I just purchased a new battery not too long ago. The guys there kept pushing me to spend 200 plus. I was not sure about them telling me I needed to replace my battery, so I took my truck over to auto one to get a reading. Today, I stopped by the Petaluma AutoZone to get wiper blades for my Tesla M3. When I walked in I was greeted by Anthony, who asked how he could help. He looked up the part numbers and (True to Tesla!) there were some modifications that had to made. Anthony, offered to check my current wiper blades and make sure the AutoZone blades would fit. If you want to see if your wireless key fob still has battery left, they will always tell you it's dead and try to sell you a new battery. Their tester always says it's dead even when it's not. I called AutoZone five minutes before their closing time on a Saturday night, and frantically explained that I was heading their way, and asked If there was any way they'd be willing to stay open a few minutes late for me. The gentleman on the phone asked what Kind of part I was looking for- and expecting to hear a, 'no, we can only help you during our normal business hours' , I explained I needed a light for my license plate, (not necessarily a 'make it or break it' crucial part, but a safety hazard, and truth be told I really just didn't want to worry about getting pulled over for it). Much to my surprise, they told me to come on in as soon as I could get there, and that they will be able to help me out. When I pulled up, there was an employee at the door waiting to let me in, and they did nothing but help me with the best customer service I've experienced in a long time. I have a perfectly functioning license plate light, and will definitely come back for repeat business. NOT COViD 19 SAFE ! Walked in to see two customers without mask chatting with their friend behind the counter...who also had his mask around his neck. One of the friends walked out from behind the counter so I thought he worked their but had no mask and just must have been hanging out ?! I had to interrupt the worker to stop him from chatting and HAD to ask the worker to put his mask on before I would even get close to counter. WTF. No mask customers or workers is absolute stupidity right now. I recently did an oil change and saw that AutoZone will recycle your used motor oil (the city of Petaluma and other vendors will do it too). They took my oil (but handed back my containers) but not my used oil filters. When I asked what to do with the filters, the staff suggested that I basically throw them in the trash. BOOO! Wrong answer! Used oil filters still have a lot of oil inside of them and need to be properly processed! I ended up putting the filters in a plastic bag next to my recycling bin on trash day. Otherwise, the store was clean and nice enough but I won't support a business as environmentally un-friendly as this one. read more

By far my best experience at an autoshop, solely because of Jose (I believe one of the managers). Jose went above and beyond my expectations for customer service and knowledge. I was unsure if I had the correct coolant hose for my rav4 and he not only inspected my engine to confirm they had the correct part, he also informed me of any additional pieces or tools I may need or should consider replacing to get the job done correctly. I will only shop at this autozone (even though O'Reillys is closer) because of Jose's excellent service and care. I want to take a moment to thank Andrew P. and Marie for going so far above and beyond for me tonight. I was leaving the shopping center across the street, when my gear shift wouldn't move out of park. The button had locked completely. I called AutoZone at 8:58 (2 minutes before closing), and Andrew P. picked up. Not only did he stay on the phone for 10 minutes after closing to help me temporarily get my car out of park, he also had me bring my car across the street to him and Marie. They both spent the better part of an hour going through each of my fuses to see if they could locate the problem. Unfortunately, it wasn't a fuse, and I will have to take it to the shop (which Andrew also was able to recommend), but I am absolutely FLOORED by the level of customer service that happened tonight. These two did everything they could to help me, far after the store had closed. Seriously... THANK YOU Andrew and Marie. From the bottom of my heart. I have been a customer of AutoZone, and wasn't impressed with their customer service or their knowledge of what I needed. The staff talked down to me as if I was clueless. OMG, Ulises, rules, this young man not only sold me rear brake light bulbs for my car he even put them on for me. His great manager allowed him to help a gal out. He also recommended how I can fix my funky broken visor. He's a gem. I went pretty early, they open at 7:30am and I was fortunate to have Ulises work with me.
