This is the word autozone I've ever been, some of the rudest workers I've come in contact with. I will never go back to this location.

I'm giving this place 2 stars because they have parts in stock here when I need them, but recently…read morecame here and walked in on a conversation amongst the cashiers about the sheer novelty of "black men making cupcakes." I should've walked out and taken my service elsewhere at that point, but decided I would look around to see if they had the Club for anti-theft. The female cashier pointed me to the aisle and asked if my "car had been jacked." I said no, she asked if I was concerned about my "car being jacked," again, I said no. She advised me which version was most popular and left. I selected the Club which I'd purchased twice in the past, then proceeded to check out. Another cashier asked me if I'm "new to Detroit." I said no, he asked if I had recently moved to Hamtramck, I repeated no. This topic somehow elicited a conversation between all employees and another customer about whether the Club actually works, if it has a money back guarantee, whether I'm new to the area, or if I knew anything about the device. I didn't participate in the conversation but somehow me buying this providing evoked a full ass discussion with the entire staff and customers in the place. My experience with this establishment - and the employees - was rude, condescending, irritating and regrettable.

I called and they promptly looked up my vehicle need and found my rim for $45 with exchange of the old rim. That price was much cheaper than the others wanting $130+. I arrived and waited about 15 minutes for them to find the rim and mount my tire ($5 extra). Overall I have been satisfied with the service and selection of salvage parts. TIP: They don't put the parts on when you buy them from the counter. They open at 8am on Saturday and you should arrive early since they close at 2pm.

Their prices are good, not super cheap, but they definitely wont break your wallet. If you're in a pinch and need a new tire, they'll install one for you for 20 bucks. They do oil changes and all the basic regular maintenance you need for a car. If something is broken, they will use their huge salvage lot inventory to find a replacement part. If they dont have it, they can get it from elsewhere. Each time my car has been fixed, theyve done a phenomenal job. The one downside is that you will probably have to wait, because they are very busy. But once its your turn, they're quick to get you in and out. I'd recommend arriving at 830 or 845 am and waiting for them to open. Then you'll be out in no time. Otherwise, bring a book and take a seat!

Although the price was about $20 higher, I chose them based on that promise. Seven days later, I still did not have my part. When I contacted customer service, I was told that the "2-day" claim only means the order leaves their warehouse within two days -- not that it is delivered in two days. This distinction is not clearly stated on the website and feels misleading. After pointing this out, I was offered a 10% discount. While appreciated, it does not resolve the core issue. Prior email communication only included a brief apology for "delay and confusion" with no explanation of how their shipping claim aligns with actual delivery timelines. Ultimately, my order arrived later than it would have from other suppliers and cost more, despite being advertised as the faster option. Clearer and more accurate shipping information would help customers make informed decisions.

Detroit Axle decided to "police" my order placing a hold on it until I called them and provided clarity on why my billing address is different than the mailing address. I guess they've never heard of ordering a part to be sent to your mechanic who has your car to repair. On 1/15/2025, put my order as "processing." On 1/16/2025, had to call again to inquire about why a tracking number had not been inputted...but this was after I requested an order cancellation and a full refund.

He tried to tell me I was past my 18 month warranty when in fact I still had 29 days left on it. Then he had to test the battery just to make sure it was dead. Dude, why would I bring the battery here if it still had juice in it? Then I tried to ask about any additional warranties for the new battery and his response to that was abrasive and rude. Never gave me eye contact and when I said Thank you and I hope you have a nice day the asshole didn't even say anything back. But the gentlemen in front of me he helped prior he was polite as hell too. FYI I am a African American man and these are Caucasians who treated me this way at this location.

They do not have scarred knuckles or dirty finger nails and they most certainly do not know the difference between a limited slip differential and a Knutson valve. These places are endlessly frustrating for customers who know what they're doing. Then there are the other kinds of auto parts stores. The rare business run by competent professionals who have seen everything, turned many a wrench in anger and know exactly how to fix the rotted kickdown mechanism on your beaten-up clunkbucket. This is Hastings. Walking in, the store is large and open with a the right mix of tools, fluids, consumables and floor stock to get easier jobs done, no barrage of frou-frou garbage to shine your car tires, no tweety-bird floor mats, no bullet-hole decals. As you walk to the prominent service counter you notice a comforting odor of WD40 and engine oil, think of it as a sign. These guys get straight to the point, provide insight and help on questions you have, often everything you need in stock by a quality brand and at competitive pricing. What sends this place over the top is in the back though. There you'll find one of the most competent and speedy machine shops you'll ever have need of. Swap out some bushings? Ten minutes. New wheel bearings pressed in? Overnight. The machine shop alone is reason enough to frequent Hastings.
